Just wanted to tell you that I just did a valve lash adjustment on my 2000 Honda crv and replaced my front right axle. Never would’ve been able to do it without your videos and they were an absolutely massive help. Please please please keep up the great work and thank you so much for these!! You’ve saved me so much money 😂

I got a Honda 1999 crv for my work vehicle, handy man fits all my tools. Been watching you awhile now, I've learned a lot, done three or four things to it watching your vids. Lol. Question...... You need a shop to put on a hitch, or a guy with the tools and watching it done on KZread can do it? ......... You don't have one on it by chance? I looked and didn't see one. Not for towing, just wanna add one of those basket's off Amazon, I got a chop saw that would fit in there great instead of my seats. Lmao

Most of the hitches available can be installed by anyone with patience and some string. A few require holes, I'd avoid those. Go class 3.

Hi Phillip, if I send you an email, is there any chance you can help me locate the evap hose, if the RD1 even has one underneath the vehicle? Maybe just a picture when you’ve already got one lifted up? I’m looking at these exploded diagrams but they don’t help much. I reckon you know the underside of the CRV better than most people. I see videos of people spraying compressed air to unclog the hose and get tons of water flushing out. Dealing with leaks, and want to make sure my evap system works properly. Evaporating properties have been on the weak side

Hey I have a 98 crv with 2 problem. One is when I go to accelerate after coasting the whole car will buck. The second is when I'm in a tight turn theres a squealing that comes from the back end. This only havens when I'm at stealing lock as when I start to straighten out the squeal goes away. What do you think?
@hondaresource
Жыл бұрын
I would say motor mounts for the buck. For the squealing, I would say your rear diff needs a fluid exchange.
How hard would a engine gear box swap be 😮
Hey man, I shot you an email through your website last week and have been checking my email for a reply. It was a question regarding some 2001 CR-V parts. Just wondering if you got it or not? How's your handbrake on hills? I've replaced cables, calipers and tensioned the cable as much as possible, won't hold for shit on 235/75s on a hill. Done literally everything in every possible way and no dice - a genuine good, knows their shit brake shop couldn't find any issues with anything despite acknowledging it wasn't holding on their driveway, their assumption was calipers are too shit for heavier car but bigger tyres. Curious to hear your experience.

To be clear - no handbrake cable bind, on road braking is perfect, cable is tensioned right but yeah, sucks on hills with big tyres.

@@hondaresource honestly, that's super interesting to hear. My original drums held great on 235/75s until they naturally needed replacing which led me to the swap. On road, way better than ever on the drums. Handbrake? Absolutely awful. Spent so much money trying to get it to even half as effective as my worn out drums and it sucks. My drum brakes held in neutral on hills, this needs to be in gear. So strange to hear the opposite.
@isakjetbean

@@nothankyou63 Yes, now I do lmao. Previously it'd hold damn near anywhere on just the drum handbrake, so I got used to leaving it in whatever gear. Wouldn't dream of it now.

What about the proportioning valve for the rear brakes? Disk brakes are not self-energized like drum brakes so require more pressure from the master cylinder. At this point you are driving around with practically no rear brakes.

This isn't really necessary unless you have auto trans or K swap, I've found the drums to be adequate if you downshift and use engine braking. Just saying it's better to spend the money elsewhere for most people unless you're already doing the bearing etc.

Oh she just LOVES it 😂
if you get a pry bar,, put behind the knuckle and axle (after you unbolt the axle nut) but don't remove the the the ball joints yet, the axle will pop out slightly breaking free, no need to beat on it from the other side because it has play built in and will "bounce" to compensate inside the assembly..... love your channel and i learned a lot from you about RD1. Please never use a hammer again on a car for repairs or mods, throw it away. its not helping. Unless you're fabricating something a hammer doesn't belong in a car tool chest. When you beat on linked components, you mights be damaging other linked parts/ bushings/ joints.etc, that you cant even see, you assume the job is done but might have damaged another component.
@cuddy9215
11 ай бұрын
No hammer needed? My friend you’ve never lived anywhere rusty
@Nickzz30
11 ай бұрын
yes i agree i live in cali@@cuddy9215 but beating on parts that are rusty is even more damaging, because they have been weakened by rust, and that rust probably exists on frame, so potentially weakening their mounting points as well. PB Blaster, heat or even drilling out the bolts is a better move. There are times when using a dead-blow hammer or rubber mallet is warranted. but thats about it. Im not gonna sledge hammer my Honda suspension. Only time its acceptable is when swapping a h or k series and the frame needs a ding or two to clear pulleys etc.
Can someone else comment the years and parts used lmao
