If cleaning doesn’t get you there, maybe overcharge or try measuring pressures with unit off, once unit is stabilized, see if pressures match ambient temperature, if high may be non-condensibles.

Those dang pine needles are a pain in the butt. I took both units apart at my sister in law's house a few years back and filled a big garbage can up with pine needles I pulled out of them. I sprayed the coils, well everything, with a degreaser and washed them out. When I put them back together they looked like new, and the performance increased so much she couldn't believe it. Nice work, stay cool! At least you didn't have to climb in the attic. Save those for early morning, yikes.

thanks for satisfying my OCD and finally taking the grill off. Pine needles are acidic btw, unless they are in ground contact in which microbes neutralize the acid. Which is why adding pine needles won't help acidify your soil. I'm not really OCD but another OCD is losing screws. You don't need a magnetic tray when you can use the magnet on your worklight.

Ha...I said the same thing about the grill! But if you can save time here and there, but glad he saw too much build-up that resulted in a quality job by removing the grill. I'm surprised he didn't vacuum the dry stuff first and created soggy mud as a result! As a car detailer, you never want to spray liquid on a carpet without the vacuum process first! Fundamental rule! Great video and really helpful showing pressure decreasing from just some basic maintenance, resulting in better performance of the system.

Ive found a lot of Black Widow Spiders 🕷️ & other critters in there when pulling Leaves & junk out of bottom of units. Be Careful, NorCal finds needles from Homeless in & around units. I Stopped using My hands to clean out units after some close calls. I Bought a 6 Gallon Rigid Shop Vac & it Makes Quick work of Cleaning out the bottom of Machines. Set the Vacuum on top of the unit & the Hose goes all the way to the bottom. Works Wonderful ! One of the Best $40.00 I ever spent. Home Depot. Wet / dry Rigid shop vac. 5 or 6 gallon. A lot of Dead Mice around here in units , Black Widow spiders 🕷️. Id Prefer not to Handle that stuff.

Good job of cleaning the condenser coil Curtis. 👍 you clean better than most HVAC technicians. I clean mine myself and I always start by propping up the fan and vacuuming out the leaves on the bottom with the shop vac while it’s dry. Then I give it a good spray down in and out. Would be better for the customer to not pile up the debris right next to the AC unit, put it in the trash instead.

I like to fan out the stream from the end of the nozzle with my finger a little bit to get a more even pattern of water on those fins. Unfortunately, many residential plumbing hasn't got the best in water volume/pressure to do a really good job in a short time. Lots of trash down in the bottom of that unit too...its been years filling up.

I went on a local call recently where the customer attempted to self serve. High side on R22 was 475 and low was 50. The compressor kept hitting the high limit. The evaporator was clean and airflow good. Turns out, the "handyman" just kept shoving 458A (along with R22) into the system in an attempt to raise the low side. I pulled all refrigerant out and found 17 lbs of refrigerant in a system that was designed to hold 7 lbs. Hmmmmmmm.... Do it yourself and save money..... Not so much.

Not going to say the condenser wasn't dirty because it was, but 30° over ambient is 435, you had 442. Don't know the SEER rating, lower rating at 20° over then it would have been high. Go to the next one, make some money!

Let me know if you see in the video 😊
