REALLY BAD fishing on The Norfolk Broads | Boating Holiday

Спорт

I had a week on Evening Shadow in some of the toughest conditions for fishing I've ever experienced on the Norfolk Broads, I do take the time to have a walk round Horning and Wroxham and point out the fishing tackle shops.

Nice one Andy. I think you’ve missed your vocation as a travel journalist. Who knew that walking down a street in the broads could be so interesting. As for the repetition of content, just look at 618 fishing. His videos are virtually identical but I still watch them as soon as they are posted. Keep doing what you are doing. 👍🏻

Thanks mate, it's not quite Wicker's world but I did enjoy the rambling! You're right about 618 fishing! He is funny! I do love his early stuff though! I took inspiration for my intro from him 🎣😀👍

Not anymore! Latham is the man for fishing on the broads, I'll do that one in May, good story behind it too! Hope you're keeping well! 👍😀🎣

Really enjoyed your walks around Wroxham and Horning. Spent many a day fishing here on family holidays from the 1950's thru to the early 2000's. My Dad loved fishing on the broads and we would go every October half term. My parents retired to Brundall in 1978 and they continued their 'Broads Holidays', mainly at Horning's riverside cottages, for 3 fortnights every year (they didn't drive). I joined them when I could and enjoyed the little fishing I had, then having my own family. Nice to see you you walk past their favourite cottage, Heron's Reach (it has a black heron on the front door), just along from the main moorings. When you walked to the river at Wroxham by The Kings Head we use to hire a Houseboat on the opposite bank of the main river, just along from the entrance to Bridge broad (then a secluded area with some big pike). I remember night fishing for Bream when I was a teenager there. Enough rambling but bought back some old memories. I've now inherited their bungalow at Brundall and spend time fishing the Yare there when I visit (although access is a problem). Keep the vids coming Andy 😀, they're great

Top tip from local subscriber. try maggot feeder right out in the middle of swan corner at Horning. its where all the tench and perch shoal up for winter...

@@TheBudgetAngler you can fish it from the bank next to paddle boat, we had 20 tench around 4-5 lb in an afternoon a few weeks ago

You need to hire one of the "traditional" Broads Cruisers from Richardsons - the ugly bath tub like ones. They aren't pretty, they aren't luxurious but they are low and gives the best chance of getting under those low bridges...... Top video.

Thanks mate, believe it or not Evening Shadow with the top down is lower airdraft that most of Richardson's bathtubs. The old woodies are the ones that have the best airdraft. Cracking way to spend a holiday though! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment! 🎣😀👍

I used to work for Angling Direct and at the Wroxham Angling shop. They were both owned by the same people and one of them owned Chunkys as well. Named after their lovely dog. The owner who had the dog actually sold his part of A.D and re-opened Wroxham Angling/ Chunkys independently. It was originally Wroxham Angling and then it was actually an A.D shop itself for a bit. Bit of useless Norfolk tackle shop trivia for ya, Andy! 😂 Great video as always mate 👏🏻

I must say that I enjoyed 'something a but different'. Most welcome. It is long and I had to skip some bits, but I will definitely come back to it later. People who like fishing also enjoy walking, so some future vids of you walking somewhere decent would be a real winner. I had no idea that you can get bait online.
