All his videos are great, advocating deliberate practise. I would have to agree, the first year I played in a club competition my opponent(who had won 4 club competitions the previous season) beat me by playing his favourite long jacks. I had to play him the next week in another competition. I practised 3 days on long jacks before beating him, by a few points. Deliberate practise is the way to go, I practise bowling the jack short, medium and long as well as the bowls. Also have to say Lachlan is available to contact by email, and replies promptly unlike Bowls England.

Hi from the UK. I love these videos. I started playing bowls last Summer but only had 2 months before the outdoor rinks closed. We start again on the 10th April. Could you give training routines for beginners please? Thank you for the videos they are great. Keith

the drill was a bit haphazard. The purpose is to move the mat before your opponent plays. Player 1: place mat and roll jack. Player 2: delivers bowl and moves mat. Player 1: delivers bowl and moves mat. Player 2: delivers bowl and moves mat. The drill is to adapt to what your opponent believes is your least favoured length and to think about your opponent's least favoured length. This drill gets you out of your own head and makes you think tactically.
