You did an excellent job by proving that not every industrial site has to be rail-serviced.

What can be fun is adding an abandonned rail that isn't connected to the track as if the industry had been previously serviced by rail but isn't anymore

Your videos are fun! I would suggest that when you apply decals not to take the decal off of the backing paper until it’s almost in position where you intend to put it. Especially one that big, get it close to where it’s going and slide the paper out from under it. Good job though
Excellent! :)
Looking good 💯

Me too. And see to Binx in the layout. My dog Scooby Doo is good with the cats. Scrappy Doo is friend of Binx. Scooby Dum is a good dog. Binx friend.
Sometimes if the decals are old they get brittle, spray a light coat of gloss or dull coat on before soaking. It actually works really good and firms up the decal, the decal might seem a little thicker but the solvent will hold it down.

Might consider doing a little earthmoving or civil site, could have half built building, grading and asphalt equipment, just a little touch to make it feel like its developing.

Awesome work as always! I'm working on some very similar topography in my layout soon so this has great tips to go by. The decals still look good, I sometimes try to blend torn decals into some weathering so that it looks a little more realistic, like a faded or damaged/scratched finish that messed up part of a sign or logo.

Great scene TR.....the layout is really coming together!! Hey I'd add a set of Rix Product's auto guard rails along the edge of the retaining wall. That's one hell of a drop- off!!!
@TopRailroad

Yeah I’m going to get some Pikestuff guard rails at some point. It is a pretty bad drop off haha
The reason the decals didn’t work at 18:27 was because you need to take them directly from the backing paper to the propane tanks
Always used my fingers to apply decals. I have those tanks they are 25 years old.
Great video of the progress you've made! I really like the area you did for the Propane Tanks. The ground, road and the walls turned out great! I'm really impressed with your layout and enjoy your videos! Thanks again Trey and look fwd to the next video. Cheers from Laurel, Delaware USA. Good work! This is just my two cents here. To add more interest I would have had a switch come off that curve. Then have track go up a small embankment and to those tanks as a one car siding for the propane dealer. I’m into switching, so when I see some space I think best how to utilize it for an industry. You’ve got a great track foreman, I’ve got four myself. :-) I’ve subbed your channel, I’ll share mine with you when I start uploading videos.

I actually used to have a switch on that curve in the beginning haha but I took it off cause I don’t want the layout to be too crowded
@straightto8

@@TopRailroad Yes, that’s the flip side when things get too crowded, gotta find a balance. Especially if it’s rural, wouldn’t be as crowded as say an urban setting where things are often times more condensed.

Nice video mate. The scene came together nicely. Here is a tip for when you put decals on your models. Use warm water with a dash of dishwashing liquid. Those two together will stop the decal from curling up when it comes in contact with the water. Decals are not an easy thing to apply especially to a surface that's not flat! Hope that helps. Looking forward to the next one.

Suggest keeping the decal on the paper backing when removing it from the water, place it near the location and slide it off with a brush or foam blotter-having the surface wet with the “Sol” or water allows it to be positioned. Maybe that’s why they’re called “water slide decals”
14:47 Binx in the layout. My dog Scooby Doo is good with you 🐱.
Looks nice and great recovery on the decal. But, what should you have done different with the decal? I would had done the same thing. I love Binx, he’s the BEST influencer on KZread.
