luckygluxx I’m only 35, but I’ve never had any relationship go beyond the casual dating stage. At this rate, I don’t think I ever will experience a stable, reciprocal, loving, romantic relationship. In my 20’s all the women I liked were like: “college is over, fuck that relationship shit!” “can’t have a career or see the world with you around because reasons!”, “I gotta move to another country because reasons!”, or “I’m going to tease you, play hard to get, let you play with my tits, go across the country and explore my bisexuality with women for a while, before deciding to marry and make babies with a man a lot like you!” ...now that socially rich environment is gone and I’m doomed in my all male occupation. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ My experience with women, it’s been a long, strange trip.

That's some black mirror nightmare fuel. Isn't it bad enough that they have to live in the clouds above a post apocalyptic scorched earth?

Am I the only one who thinks that this show was weirdly spot on? Like someone in 1962 was trying to predict the future and figured that every home would have a computer a million times faster than anything he could dream up. Robots clean houses and have advanced enough AI to emulate distinctly human personalities. TV screens are gigantic. Everyone facetimes eachother. The only things we haven't figured out yet are flying cars and meals in pill form... Gad tier scifi in concept Sacramento has Buddy Hield. If you love your city so much why didn't you include the kings in that stream of you folks playing NBA Jam? Someone was taking 3s with Zion Williamson the whole time and you could have had the winner of the 3 point contest... smdh

It's easier to extrapolate technological change than to predict social change. There are tons of videos from decades past that guessed as the future. "1999 AD" is remarkably close in a number of surprising ways! The Jetsons is a comic take on the idea. But I notice that all of them place the idealised family of the time in that future: The man still goes out to work every day, the wife stays home and makes the dinner. There may be a few new kitchen gadgets to help with the housework, but it's still the wife's job to operate them. The kids go to school*, even if they have screens to look at. The family still live in the American dream: A large, spacious house, usually a single-family house with a generous lawn. The Jetsons were unusual in that they live in what appears to be a large, spacious condo. We do have flying cars. They are helicopters, and you can commute to work in one if you have a gigantic pile of money to burn. The future almost delivered on that one: It just failed to make a flying car suitable for the mass market. *Except in 1999 AD, which correctly predicted not only that part of the kid's education would take place at home via remote learning, but that the kid would use his educational computer to watch cartoons instead of doing his homework. Most impressive!

From what I read on Wikipedia, George is 40 while Jane is 33. Their Daughter is 15/16, do the math.

I have red hair, even though my father's hair is black and my mother's is blonde. Apparently my great grandfather had red hair. Heck, my sister's hair is brown

I dunno about “realistic” aside from using the setting to show what it’s like below the clouds. This looks more like a more current “Everyman” perspective than a “Realistic The Jetsons”

George Jetson was more than a little of an "Everyman" kind of character to begin with. But yeah, I don't remember him even having an eye for the ladies in the original cartoon. Just a little bit of a whiner at worst.

1:16 They had no one to blame for that disaster, except themselves.

They cut out the part where Jane is like, "Wait. I can't get alimony from a homeless ex-husband. I'm also not about to get another husband after what I did to George, nevermind having two kids already. I'm 40, and I've never even had a job... There has been talk of both a modern reboot and a live action movie for the better part of two decades now. In the meantime we got a WWE crossover where The Big Show, in a classic heel turn, took over the future with wrestling robots. It's as hilariously stupid as it sounds, but overall a fun movie.

Well there's another one of my childhood memories down the toilet...

The new reboot looks a major Improvement compared to Yabba Yabba Dinosaurs.

Nope, not a school. That's Spacely Sprockets, his old job. It's why he puts his feet up on his desk from work the way he does at the end of the original opening.

What would be more realistic is that Jane would be introduced as "Jane, his thieving wife" and then he would count up how many times she took his wallet, sue her and come out the REAL winner.

This takes an even creepier turn considering the comics made Rosie George's mother brain uploaded into a robot.

My headcanon is after the initial,normal ending here,everything ELSE happens during and after the episode Spacely fires George after he and Cogswell switched buildings 😂😂😂😂 Makes total sense when you think about it: Spacely stupidly fires George through no fault of his own cuz he failed to tell George him and Cogswell switched buildings,all the extra stuff here happens,and finally George chopped down Spacely Sprockets to get even with Spacely 😂
