Masterclass in sound design! Bell sounds are the ultimate "must have" in any sound designer's toolkit. Great presentation with Minimeters too. Loved every second of this! Thank you Dash :)

Truly absurd how Serum is still kicking and how people keep taking it to new heights. Steve Duda really cooked with this software

nice one. i recently did something similar with modular, but using rm instead of fm. another cool thing to try for a convincing vibraphone is to pass it through an all pass filter slightly modulated with a medium-fast lfo to simulate the rotating fans between the metal bars and the resonators.

Although I'm more settled in gritty Midtempo, I still get lots of inspiration from your videos. (Way back as a kid, I actually started out with an interest in Psy-Trance. Probably more than 20 years ago now but it still wakes that nostalgia in me) I always recommend your videos to anyone interested in the logic behind sound design, regardless of what genre they are into. You have that "pedagogical" way of explaining the process so basically anyone can jump in and try it out. Keep em coming 😁

attach a macro to both decay and release of envelope 1 and put sustain to 0 so that the resulting tone behaves like a real bell and you can just control the length with a single knob

I hear ya friend. SurgeXT deffo has a unique workflow. But it just somehow helps me enter NEW realms of possibility real FAST. Seems like i cant run out of combinations and routing and synthy things to try out! For one, MUCH more organic textures and mallets and bells are possible in it with its never ending expanding feature set. It has such epic Oscilators with TONS of grit and artefacts. Honestly speaking here serum hasnt been in any of my projects since 2020! Even thought ive heard TONS of epic presets for it. Only thing missing in SurgeXT is OTT!! DAMN!

Hi. I'm switching from Mixcraft 10.5 Pro Studio to Cubase 13 Elements then later upgrade to Cubase 13 Artist. I've heard positive things about Cubase 13. The updated UI, Fast workflow, New audio engine, Rock solid stability and flexibility, Iconica Sketch, Etc. I used Mixcraft for 4 years now. From 9 to 10.5, I think it's time to pass the torch. I'm switching from Mixcraft 10.5 Pro Studio to Cubase 13 Elements. I'm really looking forward to enjoy the workflow in Cubase 13. It may take me a week or so the get use to it, But it'll be worth it & there's no doubt about that.

I'd seriously suggest trying out the demo of Cubase before investing, after over a decade with Cubase I had to leave for Bitwig. While DAWs are often a very personal choice, my reasons for leaving were objective. There are issues with the MIDI timing, the program takes very long to load, crashes all the time, very poor visual performance/refresh rates, all of which I have spoken to Steinberg about and they're not interested in these kinds of things, just new plugins of old hardware

@@DashGlitch Well regardless of your opinion & experience with Cubase. Cubase's is very similar to Mixcraft's workflow. Cubase is highly regarded as the king of all DAW's in my eyes. Studio One will try they're hardest to outrun Cubase. But now that Studio One today has that "subscription" route. And we doubt that Cubase will have that "subscription" route. We all have curtain opinions Check the new features & highlights of Cubase 13. Maybe the MIDI editing, Stability & other stuff has been improved. And I'll like the plugins included in Cubase 13. Regardless if they're old hardware or not, That's my opinion. Please just try the Cubase 13 demo out & give it one more chance.
