production cost ≠ designing cost ofc u could produce a lot of products cheaper, but 1) u wouldnt sell as much so u start to cover the production costs if u dont pay for advertisement (which cost a lot), also the time and work u put in as the designer isnt free (i know its crazy and really hard to understand that people doesnt work for free and trees and drink air)

That's exactly why. It's like people who do all their shopping at whole foods stores and upmarket supermarkets.
