That's why I really don't care about being in the top tier in this game, I'm happy just beating my own times

the reason why these cheat cuts are possible is because DR2's out of bounds detection is less severe than DR1, in DR1 if u leave the track, a timer starts immediately and if u go too far, you get auto reset + time penalty.

I have no assists, use three pedals, sequential shifter, and handbrake. The best I've done is about 490 global yet I'm still 30+ seconds behind these guys.

Best global rank I've got was 523. No assist, extended the gears so could use a H pattern stick shift with clutch and no cuts all four wheels stayed on the road.

Top tier players often use sequential stick or paddles with 360-540° degrees to do these times. I've been playing like that even by myself (sequential + 540°, no assists ofc) while i was doing top 10 times day by day :)

Not a cheat, just bad game design. Cuts like these are even mentioned in Sporting Regulations for the DiRT Rally 2.0 World Series 2019 and 2020, and it specifically says that the boundaries of the game (car reset to track) is the track limits for the Championship. So to qualify, you would have to take these cuts, since others certainly would do. Spreading this as cheating serves no purpose. We all hate these cuts, so let's just hope the rocks are in place for the next version of DiRT Rally. Funny video though! :D Cheers :)

Drivers must obey track limits. Track limits are defined automatically by DiRT Rally 2.0 but exploits may be additionally monitored by the Race Director or their assistant for the qualifying, semi and grand finals. Track or stage cuts that go against the spirit of rally or rallycross, regardless of whether they are automatically picked up are against the rules. Corner cuts like these are an disgusting and shameful act

These times should be invalidated, remain on the track, you wouldn't see this in real rally. If that's all you want, then fine, but don't proclaim having a WR by cheating. If you don't want to be called a cheater, don't cheat. it's as simple as that.

@@Khosumi it’s not cheating. Cheating would be breaking the game or changing game files. If the developers were too lazy to fix it, that’s fair game. If you deem that cheating on a personal basis, then It’s impossible to set a standard.

Suppose it doesn't give us a penalty - I might as well just drive towards the finish cutting every corner for the reason "it's not a penalty." I might as well ignore the track altogether and just make a straight line towards the finish just because it isn't a penalty.

@@captainbarbossa5201 in the majority of forms of rallying competitions, that would be a legal way of winning the race. Most of them don't have any corner cut rules which is why the stages are usually in valleys of little mountains or within a fenced off area so it encourages you to follow the road. What's being displayed in the video would not be against the rules in real life unless it was the WRC so I dont see what the problem is

You see... the guy that took them cuts will be using the same version of the game as you (no grass) I run the game on xbox and that loses me around 1 second, that's why I don't agree with this version of the game it is pay to win 😡

Shows the state of human morals when cheating is justified & accepted in any form... to the point where it ruins games for real players. Should be highlighted in leaderboard who needs to cheat to pretend to win & those that are the real deal. Would they be proud to own a W.R. then? Sadly, probably still...

Yes, it is, but only to a degree. See, in real life, there would probably be a tape along the road or an anti cut on the inside of the corner. There could possibly be spectators in that field or some sort of a danger that could damage your car (a vehicle, a fence, a hay bale, etc.). A real rally driver would never cut like that (well, maybe a dumb one would). If you go beyond the anti cut, or you break the tape (unless obviously the cases where you lose control of the car) and clearly benefit from it, you'll be penalized or disqualified. Same when you venture far from the road. And that's the better case scenario. The worse one is you destroy your car or even worse, kill a bunch of spectators. I guess cuts like these could have been viable in the previous century (though still dangerous), nowadays, cameras are everywhere, so you wouldn't be able to get away with it.
