“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
Welcome to the Young Nails family!

    Tracy! Hi I was wondering I messed up 4 of my natural nail beds from doing so many fills on my self and now my nails are growing in by breaking and splitting (not fun at all) lol I put gel over my natural nails to help strengthen my nails while they grow back, so any tips on applying acrylic over thin cracked short nails? Thank you so much!

  • @youngnailsinc

    @youngnailsinc

    2 жыл бұрын

    If you try to put acrylic over damaged nails, just be extra careful in prepping the nail so you don't cause more damage. The challenge with putting acrylic on a damaged nail is that the acrylic is designed to adhere the best to the keratin protein in the nail. So if the nail is damaged, you may have issues with lifting, and then if you are filing excessively to remove the lifting, this can cause more damage. At this point, it's best to do as little filing as possible, so our best recommendation would be to use the Fiber Gel until the damage grows out. This product is designed to help give strength and durability to weak and damaged nails. It will give a protective layer over the nail and as the nail grows out, you can remove the shine and fill the nail with the Fiber Gel without having to remove all of the product.

    If sculpted properly, you will get better results with sculpting. When gluing tips on, the glue can eventually break down in water and cause separation. With sculpting, the product is only bonded to the nail and you don't have that extra layer of glue and plastic.

  • @youngnailsinc

    @youngnailsinc

    No, only if you are switching with hand you are holding the e-file in. If you are working in someone else and are right-handed you are going to be using your right hand to hold the e-file when doing both of theirs.

    One question I’m always wondering and you may have covered in other vids. I’ve always noticed when we ask an artist to copy a style off Pinterest or IG or what have you, the artist will never fully copy the other artists’ style. Is this because you don’t want to take away the originality from another and also your artist wants to make it their own? I really respect that idea. Just wanted your input. I really like the way you explain the process. It’s super easy to understand. I’m no pro and I’m just starting out. It’s great to know that you can never use too much product as long as you’re okay with extra filing lol! Thanks for vids!💕💅🏼

    It's important to remember that every artist is different. We all use different techniques, products and tools. In addition, the tech may not be comfortable copying another tech's work and will put their own spin on it to make it their own. Generally speaking, if you want the exact design, you might have to go to the tech that did it, and even then, the design may not turn out identical to the picture.

    Tracey, I have noticed that when you are telling the steps you're taking and what you're doing next you often times mumble, as if you're talking to yourself. If you are that's fine, I hold whole conversations with myself regularly.😅 The problem is though, I can barely hear you when you're doing it. Yes, I could turn up the volume but then when you're not mumbling it would be too loud. I just thought I would mention it, that maybe you would want to mumble louder?😄By the way, I love the look of your right hand nails😍

    It just comes with time, technique first and speed second. There are also little things you can do to help with speed. You can season your hand files when you have down time so you don't have to in front of the client, you can have baskets for acrylic and hard gel so you can set them up and grab them all ready to go when your next client comes in, having a set of tools for each client so you don't have to clean in between and just grab a new set and clean them all at the end of the day. Here are some great videos: kzread.info/dash/bejne/hpeH0K2jp63de9o.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/oKptz5eRm62biNY.html\ kzread.info/dash/bejne/iWxkqsySpq3XXco.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/X6Wqq6SbobmxqZc.html

    Yes if you want long custom nails you should pay more but I've said it before, charging for shaping is just getting greedy. Shaping is part of doing nails and all nails are custom because they are unique to each individual. And what you're calling custom shape, IE tapered square, almonetto, ect is no longer custom they are the most common shapes.
