Norse mythology nerd here. 🤚 Huginn (pronounced HOO-Nin) is one of Odin's Ravens. Specifically the one named for Thought, and the other is named Muninn (Pronounced MOO-Nin) which means Memory. So they're like symbols of Odin's power...which let his thoughts and memory actually fly around and learn or remember things without him having to be there.

My gfs have always loved orange g10 knives. Hi visibility and not intimidating too the sheep.

I'm digging all the IB designed knives I've found. He's got a nice eye for stylish functional blades. I really love the flathead hardware. Taking knives apart is a pain in the ass w/ all the T6 and or T8s. Ivan is on to something here! Orange is a great color for people who actually use their knives & don't want to lose them. If my knife isn't orange, somewhere, then it's got bright orange lanyard. I am always putting my knife down or dropping it to grab another tool (axe, saw, machete) and want to relocate the knife easily. Unless it's a necker. Then I put it back in the sheath..

Definitely a nice neutral design. I like it.

Took mine apart a few weeks ago and I had difficulty putting it back together. I just did but I the lanyard bar fell off so I decided not to install it. Maybe next time. It's perfectly centered but after playing with my Benchmade 940-2 and my Mini Grip, I'm not too enamored of the slide lock action. A good working knife though.

Hi Ivan, I have ordered one of these knives- looking forward to using it! But I was wondering, why did you choose to use both teflon and bronze washers?

Looks like a winner... Will keep an eye out for one in the knife sale.

This one instantly does it for me. Blade reminds me very much of the Velona and the thumb ramp jimping is reminiscent of a Griptilian. Nice deep pocket clip, thumstuds weight and scales-It really hits all marks for me.

Interested... Fit and finish of benchmade has driven me crazy lately. Haven't had any issues with Real Steel. Love this design.

Looks like a more substantial nicer buggout 2.0. Love the lines of this knife. But why tf is it $120 for vg10???? This should b no more than $80 a t the most.

I gotta say I really like that design. It's beautiful and functional. That is one of the first designs I've seen that I actually want. I personally don't like liner locks or frame locks. I could see me carrying this in place of my broken skull.

Good overview. Look at that clean handle - no added hardware, just the bare minimum. Looks easy to mod. I like it! I could not tell for sure but it looked like the rear attachment screw was free spinning. I really hope that the final model is not. I do not have a Real Steel knife in my collection. A terrible oversight that I am trying to remedy. So far the knives I do like have an uncomfortably high price point. This is no fault of theirs, my tastes just exceed my budget. I am looking forward to seeing the final version. This could be the one.

I like this knife enough that I bought one. I'm loving it! My only issue was the clip. I had to bend the ramp up a bit to fit in my jeans pocket, but that was a very easy fix. Other than that, no issues. Good fit and finish, the axis lock works fine, it's got a smooth action, jimiping is done perfect, the geometry cuts well, an Ergos are good too, at least for my hand.d it's light for a full sized knife. I think VG10 gets a bad rep. I have no problem with it. It's easy to sharpen, takes a crazy sharp edge, and holds it reasonably well.

Mine came with the synthetic washers against the blade. Maybe I'll take it apart again.

Great knife ! I don't like axis style locks but I'll prob make a exception! 110$ is good price in EU, prob not much in the US... But still doable imo.

To be honest I'd take this over the bugout any day! 🔥💯 the only thing I'd change which probably is gonna be on the production version is the screw for the clip I'd make it flat so it wouldn't stick up. And I agree with you about future runs of more premium materials m390 and fat carbon and call it a win win 🏆 👍👍 I hope this comes out soon I want one NOW. Lol thanks for the update and review 👍

For this price - micarta and S30V would be good - now it's just interesting design, but pricing is a little off.

I really love it in orange, for me the price is steep at $119. for not having bearings, so I'm disappointed because I really wanted it.

Can the pocket clip really be reversed it looks like one scale has a cutout for it ?? Lefty genuinely curious.

Did you watch the disassembly ? Both scales look the same. Both have internal cutaways for the pocket clip nut that’s in the middle but the exterior of the scales are the same.

The pocket clips on these new real steel knives are not good. Not a big fan of vg10, but otherwise that is a great edc…so slender

Everything wears out eventually. So I don’t know how to answer your question. I don’t have a specific recommendation for lube on washers. Probably none. They polish up with time.

Hiya! I just got a couple of these to feel out. The blue micarta/brass and the black G10/brass. Positively gorgeous, but both had a very-very stiff action out of the box. Pretty much not flipping open at all; almost a two-handed opening situation. I adjusted both right up to the point of just avoiding blade wiggle, little drop of lube, and the black seemed better (but not great), I assume because of the coated blade, but the other one was still too stiff to flip open at all. I took a peek inside and it turns out there are no synthetic/teflon washers like yours has; only the brass. Do you suppose this is a design change or a mistake? Would those teflon washers be something I'd maybe want to add in, myself? Any suggestions would be appreciated, or if I should just return them and/or contact Real Steel directly? Thanks!
