Yeah my dog wears her gear all the time… it makes bath time difficult but hey she’s a service dog so 🤷 lol actually though, your dogs gear is adorable!!!!

They should come up with a law requiring service animals to have licenses. Mist people dont have a problem with service animals. They have a problem with pets being disguised as service animals.

I agree that the issue really is pets being passed off as service dogs. Emotional support animal owners are bad for doing that too. A few genuinely don't know that the ESAs don't have access rights. Licensure is a tricky subject. A big thing is how would you prove your service is real if you've trained your own dog? How could it be set up so people didn't game that system.

People are so uneducated. How can we fix that on a massive scale? I don't know.

Sadly, a cure for stupid hasn't been developed yet. I told her that mobility harnesses are too bulky to be worn constantly. She accepted that. But, wow. 🙁

@Techrideretc.6093 I do that too sometimes. Especially if it's hot outside I'll leave it off. ADA law says it's not required. I'm not sure we can convince the general public of that though.

I agree. Unless a dog clearly is not a service dog, I don't think fake spotting is helpful. The other day I saw an emotional support animal clearly labeled as such. The problem was that the dog was in a restaurant, sitting at a chair and being fed from the table. That's pretty clearly somebody breaking the rules. But, a lot of the other fake spotting behavior is in error.

@@BeBodacious I used to watch this girl on KZread I stopped watching her because she would fake spot service dogs most of them didn't seem like legitimate service dog but then she fakes spotted like this one girl in a restaurant that had a pitbull for a service dog and the dog wasn't doing anything wrong she purposely walked by the dog with her dog just to try to distract it claiming it was obviously a service dog only thing that the dog did wrong was sniff the other dog but then the Handler corrected the dog the dog laid back down to me that's not a fake service dog a fake service dog would be like if the dog acting aggressive or like lunged at the other dog but if a service dog makes a small mistake in public that's no excuse to fake spot someone my service dog is not perfect sometimes he sniffs things when he's not supposed to but I always correct him when he does
