After this month of champaign sailing and fruit smoothies you guys are gonna have a hard time getting back to fiberglass dust and hard work fixing Uma.

After years documenting life afloat in your two classic Pearson retrofitted electric motor sailboats, it is a delight to watch you enjoying a luxury charter in the BVI aboard an offspring of your efforts. Thank you for bringing us along. Happy 2024!

Two Pearsons? I’m pretty sure they’ve only ever had the one sailboat, the one UMA. I’ve been watching for years as well, and I believe I’ve seen all of their videos, but their first couple of years I may have missed a few here and there. So while I’m “pretty sure” it’s always been the same boat, I’m not 100% and ready to argue about it 😂… but I sure would like clarity. It’s possible I’m wrong and there is a whole other boat I haven’t seen… if that’s the case I’m going to have to look for that. Anyone care to chime in please? Dan & Kika maybe??

@@ricktaylor4real Beau and Brandy, the other couple in this vid, also have an electric Pearson. That's what @Sockeye was referring to when s/he used the plural. In your response to them you clearly asked to be corrected if you were wrong. Just tryin' to provide some "clarity."
Just waiting for the Mya cooking channel.
Some SUPERB use of drone shots in this episode. Congratulations to the pilot and the editor, equally.
Maya's cooking always looks healthy and amazing. I wish she had a cookbook!

This episode seemed like they all were auditioning for Below Decks. Ha ha.
Great way to spend New Year's Eve: with great friends, beautiful water, a full-up rainbow, the Baths, and klondike bars! Nice!
The transitions between scenes are a nice touch.
That powered dinghy platform is insane. 🤤 Great vid, guys 🤙
Dan's "Roll Out" was, by far, one of the best "roll-outs" I've ever seen. That said, it looks like you all are adjusting well to the catamaran, and (as always) having a great time. Cheers to you, Dan and Kika, Beau and Brandy, and Maya, y'all are livin' the dream, and we're lucky enough to tag along. For sure, all four of you are a great inspirations for others who are interested in pursing the cruising lifestyle.
As a former sailboat owner, who is now stuck at home because of health issues, it is always a delight to watch your videos and to almost feel like I'm back on the water. All that's missing are the motion of the boat and the different smells around the water.
With twin controls, the main thing to remember is to drive it like a shopping cart. Everyone knows how to drive a shopping cart.
Being a digital stowaway, this landlubber enjoys every moment of every adventure that you all experience....Thank you so much.
I realized I have had a huge grin on my face for the last 37 min. of watching this. To quote the ending of one of my fave Pixar films (after credits) ... "Bye! Byeee! Ok... Are they all gone? Is everybody gone? Huh? GOOD. Oh my gosh, my cheeks are KILLING me!!!" Love ALLLL of you guys - this was a lot of fun!! 🌴🎉🤗
We anchored there in 2015. The holding was an inch of sand over polished basalt. We had to put out 250’ of chain and just hang on the weight of the chain all night. Needless to say, I as captain, got no sleep.
You guys are so good at what you do! The picture of the 3 ladies walking in the sunset was gorgeous. Thanks. Safe travels ❤
It occurred to me that @ 19:34 Dan and Kika look sooooo much like a professional charter crew. It is such a pleasure to see that level of professionalism. And just as much of a joy to see allllll the silliness that preceded it! ❤
I love see the BVI through yalls trip. My family and i go every two years and its such an amazing trip each time. LIving on a cat for two weeks is the LIFE!
You just know kika enjoyed being able to sync that high five with the beat at 17:37
🎉🎉❤❤❤ LOVE serving the the tray of Klondike’s WITH tongs..!!!!!😂😂
What a magnificent yacht to relax and enjoy the gorgeous BVI. feels so comfortable and easy to get around. Fun New Years!
Love when you guys collaborate with other sailing channels. What a beautiful video.
It must be very different on that trip. When you find something broken on the boat, you don't think about having to fix it, when you will fix it, where you will fix it or what parts you will need.
Love the bold music choices in this video, Kika, great vocals!
What an incredible video! Thanks for taking us along!❤
Editing is an art form 👍🏻
Brings back so many good memories. Thanks for the great video!
What a fantastic way to spend the New Year. Thoroughly enjoyed this video.
24:21 Heeey!!! That’s our sailboat!!!!! Can’t believe we were that close to you!!!!
The Virgin Islands tree boa is a harmless snake that lives in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands and islands off Puerto Rico. Having existed there since the islands' formation some 20,000 years ago, the boa is one of the Virgin Islands' original inhabitants
Beautiful episode! Breathtaking landscapes with music to match. Well done!!💪💪👏
Happy New Year! Sick video and music! Loved it. Outstanding editing. What I love is that you two are so much fun and make the hard work look so easy. Welcome back Mia! Good to meet you Beau and Brandy.👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🍾😎👍🏾
Champagne
I loved this! It was like celebrating New Year all over again! The music was spectacular, the video was superb! Happy New Year to you all and I cannot wait to see what comes next with Uma and whatever other adventures you two get up to!
Great video, it must be weird going from uma to this boat. It is like going from a studio apt to castle
I'd love to see you guys getting together with Nikki and Jason to give their HH44 a spin! Great semi-performance catamaran. Their OCT tender is also awsome, and maybe if meeting up with Nikki and Jason is impractical, you could at least arrange to have a go in one of them! Anyway, you are having so much fun it should be illegal!
Loved this collab video! The boat looks fantastic and seems to sail really well in low winds. Tip: when maneuvering at low speeds with engines only, center the helm and lock in place with the nut or hold with your knee…the boat will be much more responsive to port and starboard engine thrusts and track much better…really important when docking. That drone video work and editing was breathtaking! Fair Winds from Austin ⛵️
A super outstanding video with your friends!!! And music was good too!
A top class video as usual. You guys are real pro's. New years eve is called Hogmanay in Scotland.
You guys have earned this . Thankyou for all your content .
This video was so much fun, I had to watch twice. Thanks. Hello Kika, Brandy, Mia, Dan & Beau. Champagne sailing looks a blast. 💙🇺🇸💚👍😇
Amazing how quiet and void of engine noise the experience is. Voyage Yachts and Voyage Charters are the absolute best!
that was a fun video, tons of smiles over here thankyou😊😊😊
Nice logo, DK, I just now saw for the first time. We sailed BVI last April. Was awesome and pleasant all week.

Awesome video. That looks like a really sweet boat.
Its like this looking in way future Uma can be there because you know every inch and can make it no matter what get big boat u have to keep it going.
Million dollar catamaran. DIY wooden selfie stick.
This channel has elevated No longer the van life on the water channel Will definitely start to tell friends about this channel!
Very good. I liked all the little adventures! But then, . . . there was THE END ! Hippy Niwe Yaer ! : - )
Yall are awsome! Happy New Year!!
Great to see you guys in proper holiday mode, You looked really relaxed
Wow, that tender is a LIMO, saw you using it last week for shopping, but didn't really take notice - but this week WOW 😮
One more comment, invite Maya more often!!!!

She seems much happier. Maybe she just doesn't like monohulls that bounce around (not appreciating that bouncing around is part of their charm).
Thank you for taking me along. I have missed the bvis
Love that they put steps in the Baths.. When I was there in 92 or 93 they didn’t have steps. You had to shimmie your way to the top.
Awesome music in this one❤
That was fun! Thanks.
Happy New Year!!🥂Here’s to health, life and Uma 2.0❤😊
The song track was remarkable. What a wow.
Really have enjoyed your videos from the onset, that being said, I have one small comment. too many high fives !!

That water is so beautiful
For a second I thought you’d be sailing in Illinois
Amazing...great music
I couldn't see a solo couple sailing a cat that big, but for a big family, a charter/owner, or someone who is a little claustrophobic, it might be the right boat.
Nicely filmed and edited guys (by guys I mean guys and girls of course 🙂). Champaign sailing, like cruising in fact (that's cruise liner), without the service. I don't think I ever had to steer the ship - you know I'm kiddin' here, maybe I did steer the ship 🙂
Groovy episode.
Dan and Kika hi if I may correct you on motoring catamaran as a former commercial captain. The right way of turning is not by full power engines one against the other, Better is the motor on the inside turn just taking into revars only by touch no power. and the other external motor taking in forward. there is no need for full power. And if you want to make the turning more internal Just get help from the bow truster. That way it's better because if you're taking the motors once against each other, You making forces on the body of the boat that unnecessarily,BY the long term it can make damage
😅😅😅omg a line😮, Sailed the Virgins for 18 years many moons ago before the "line" at the Baths" Lkl😂
Good friends, good times 🎉Happy New Year 🎉
Kika, I've been enjoying your "white powder (UMA)" mix on Spotify for a while now and after listening to the music selection on this video I think it might be time to create a BVI sailing mix. Love your channel guys, and I am always looking forward to the weekly updates!
Great Job! Are you going to add a chain counter? Painting chain is nice but in the dark the counter really helps at the helm.
Happy New Year!!! 🎉

The three wa;king across a setting sun was a great shot. WEll done.
Really nice episode.
Wow. That boat is about 8 times the size of your Pearson's. Good video.
That was a great new year's party
Happy New Year 🎉🎉🎉
So epically beautiful 😍 Best crew ever. ❤️ Heya, Dan and Beu, could yall talk about spring tides. Been watching, and every year, there are some truly avoidable wreaks, damages, and some fatalities. Think on it and enjoy the Miami show.
Happy New Year..!
I loved every minute.
hope you guys realize how incredibly lucky you are.
It feels like it all went by in a blink of an eye! What a WAY to ring in the new year!! 🎉 now if anyone knew what REALLY went on. 😂
Excellent video, especially the music selection was outstanding! :-)
Just wondering if you guys read my comment from 4(?) years ago about keeping clear of unexploded ordinance munitions even if you think it is training rounds like Dan said at the time.
@theunknownunknowns5168
6 ай бұрын
You know because training rounds can't launch themselves on to the middle of a Island in the Caribbean. Because they don't have enough explosive or more likey zero explosive. Take it from me a unexploded high explosive round is more likely than a drill round. Don't touch, mark record report.

It's like Eva Uzbek getting under her landrover without choking the wheels on a slope. I'm having a heart attack watching you guys. KZread is stressful to watch you know!
Great weather 🎉 and sailing. I do miss the Virgins ❤
Note for non-sailors, some catamarans do have daggerboards, two of them in fact. Wings are also finding their way onto boats, mono and multihull. (See the Wynns new HH cat they are getting ready to sail with.)
Thank you for my huge smile and the happy feeling all over me.
Now that's living!!!!
Fun time just having vaca on big boats
Love this series, looks like you all had fun, is Mia a chef, and does she have a KZread channel?
An ABBA song “i can still recall”, comes to mind..😎
A champagne campaign. My kind of sailing.
Someone should black out those missing pixels on the camera. I don't know how many times I've been checking my monitor :)
VMG (Velocity Made Good) is better on a catamaran than on a modo hull even if the cat can't point as well as a mono hull because cats are generally faster. The faster you go the more you push the apparent towards the nose. if you have a mono hull and you want it to point higher, tie a few buckets off the back, slow it down and pull the apparent wind away from the bow.
@ghost307

Does that have anything to do with catamarans not heeling over as much while sailing?
Just great to see you having fun
You guys have come a long ways! Is a luxury cat in your future?
What a fun time 🎉 now how is Uma coming along?
Mabe you can pull it off to get an Aluminum Cat. This would be so cool. There is a sailing familily promoting their own design of a go anywhere Cat. Maybe you contact them. I think you know them.
