def the wrong crowd, but make no mistake the UK was the hip-hop capital of Europe, they brought us great and good rap artists, especially groups.
THIS IS WHY I LOVE KZread, IM SO EXITED FOR THIS. OMG ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I remember this on UK charts on BFBS😉
Wish I was older enough to have gone to fresh 86 I'm 42 now but was always into night FM late night mix tapes and had all the electronic electro albums
I miss those days!
Roxanne looked dope AF !
Howie Tee (Yo) Look around (So) There’s no one listening (Get outta here) No (That’s alright) Yeah, that’s okay (We’re gonna rock you anyway)
Love it! This album was really good. Still have the cassette tape. Love Rox. This is awesome.
The static audience was hilarious, I presume they was waiting for barry white or someone.

@@trouble1600 get fresh was a Welsh show I think. There's another clip where they get some local graffiti crews to paint a wall while some schoolgirls are cheerleading. Some of those lads were probably in awe but it's hard to get fresh on provincial 80s kids TV lol. I think it was treated as something of a novelty or for kids at first (hip hop)
Peace To This Asiatic Princess! Thank You 🙏!!!
They probably just didn't know what to do this was 86.The kids were living it though.
This was the jam at the skating ring
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
this is the only video of the elusive Howie tee I could find
I had this record
That crowd, blooming 'eck.... how depressing! I was 14 at the time and I'd loved to of been there
Had this cassette and wor it out. I had the biggest crush on her!!!
I was skeptical at first but this was actually pretty good
i just went and purchased this.. it was one i had to time right as it is a better to have a crisp copy at a good price, the real roxanne was sexy and had caricature her rhymes where there.. tho hip hop had a lot of ghost writers & all in producers the cut's that howie tee came up with is a top 5 Dj .. 10/10 for this tune and get fresh wasn't around for me to see
One of those contracts you later explain "We did it for the money".
lol brilliant this was on my 'electro' vid .... i love the dad in the Slazenger totally ignoring it and the obligatory 'girls dancing like chickens' .
Took me back. Did the WAP, Canbage Patch and the Jerry Lewis. This was when hip hop was clean fun
they held it down in the years of joe piscapoe and rappin duke.i was once the only one in the audiance acting a fool for dj vicious lee.
Man, this crowd. ☠️☠️ 🛌🛌

I was thinking maybe they'd never heard of her & why would they send them to perform there but I know artists have to travel all over the 🌎. They were standing there looking simple like HUHHH 😶🤔. Then too most were elementary sch. kids....the adults looked over 35. I'm from Cali so of course she was a BIG hit there. Every where we went they were bumpin that album! 🚘🎶🔥💃🎵🎤

this maybe soundin a bit cheezy now but back in the day it was cool..part of my history..
The show get fresh went all around the country, this probably was at some shire english town when 86 might as well been 56.

Description cannot be correct. That is the Nelson Monument in the background & its being film where the Canon Portugues is. Get Fresh wasnt filmed at Edinburgh Castle until 30th May 1987.

Mmm interesting. The song Bang Zoom was definitely released summer 1986 and Roxanne & Hitman were over for the UK Fresh 86 gig at Wembley which I’m sure is when this was recorded. This is came from a VHS tape with a load of other stuff recorded in 1986. Maybe they filmed there as a one off, who knows? Thanks for the info

@@BeatOfTheStreet Id guess that this performance was nothing to do with Get Fresh which was filmed in a different location at Edinburgh Castle the following year. It would likely be part of a UK single promo tour whilst over for UK Fresh '86 broadcasted on some other tv show.

@@BionicRasta Yes maybe promo for the single. A friend of mine run into Roxanne & Hitman randomly in the HMV on Oxford St London when they were over for UK Fresh. He said Roxanne looked stunning !!
have you got a vid of roxanne shante on there talking gaz top. also 1986
He did pretty well seeing as none of his kit was plugged in 🤣🤣🤣
Those in the comments mocking the audience need to understand that England (or Wales or wherever this is) was still a largely homogenous country outside of the major cities so having a black American act playing to them at that time would understandably cause a degree of quiet curiosity, it isn't - like I'm sure many begging for racism want to think 'staring like it was an animal at a zoo' but more taking it in, learning the moves, picking up cool tips etc. many will be struck by Roxannes sheer beauty and Howies imposing presence too, the same would be happening were it in Africa if a bunch of pale Morris Dancers were up there flapping hankies, this era was a learning curve for all of us, we took it in, took it on and learned how to bridge the gap, I see plenty of young'uns in the crowd that were already bit by the Hip Hop bug too and you can tell by Roxannes performance that she's enjoying revelling in the novelty of it and that she feels comfortable and far from any feelings of hostility

The British still had a degree of ‘stiff upper lip’ back then too and would be rooted to the spot at any sign of merriment, especially if there was a camera involved, until around the advent of rave culture in the 90s. Look at the British crowd in the 1985 video for Princess ‘Say I’m Your Number One’ - so sullen and miserable!
Hold Up This is Proof !!!!! that the Real Roxanne is the Pioneer of the Game !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Um....where the hell is this? Couldn't they land a gig at a 21 and over venue?
