@@crs1474 I do agree, they do look much dimmer. My headlights on my old truck used to get washed out by other headlights to the point where it was hard to tell if mine were even on because they were so much brighter. Bulb orientation is also important. Sometimes, depending on the bulb, if it's installed properly, you don't need to re-aim them. However, I should always check em anyway with tires properly inflated on a level surface.

I don't know if I've been doing this wrong.... but for as long as I can remember, I always adjust my low beams to as high as possible, WITHOUT blinding on-coming drivers. I do this by adjusting the lights and leave the truck on the street in front of my house... then I drive my other car and go to end of the street and drive back to see if my truck's low-beams are blinding or annoying to my own eyes.

Using the Smith System, you should look or be clearly able to see 10-15 seconds ahead of your vehicle at all times, according to your ground speed. So, roughly 200 to 250ft ahead is considered adequate. If that can be achieved without harming or blinding others would be sublime. In some setups it's almost impossible to accommodate everyone or anyone accept the proper fitment and safety per your vehicle.

LEDs are fine as long as they're designed to work with the stock headlight housing. The low beam has to throw light in a specific direction like halogens do. The shitty LEDs will just throw light in every direction.
