As a barca fan, I knew Liverpool would loose. Scoring early only made it worse. Madrid wouldn't wake up if you're playing a draw. Once you score against them, you just ignite their inner beast. If you're going to score early, be ready to defend perfectly against Madrid . They don't give up easily at all.

To answer Craig's question, Ancelotti said he put Modric too high to press & it took him out of the game. So, he allowed Modric to drop deeper & we had more bodies around the centre of the park to dominate the midfield, this gave Camavinga space cause he wasn't 2v1 pressed in the midfield. Fede also improved as game went on.

One thing Real have really been blessed about is their brilliant midfield. From Guti, Beckham and Zidane to Kroos Casemiro and Modric (the best and most successful one), Valverde and Camavinga and Tchouameni in the future and Kroos and Modric still killing it. Their defensive record hasn't been the best over two decades despite Ramos and Varane on the team but their midfield, my goodness

Completely agree. I was begging at the TV for Carlo to sub off Alaba, so it was a relief when Alaba walked off, he looked uncomfortable and if you need solidity in defence, Nacho does a great job. It changed the game 100 percent. Salah would have gotten another goal otherwise.

I’m 100% convinced that if France had Benzema they would have been the world champions now instead of Argentina. They made the wrong decision leaving the best striker out. All they needed was one more goal in that final game!

I am myself a Madridsta. I know history. But during Galatico era we didn't taste the same success in UCL. Then Rijkaard& Pep Barca rose to prominence. It was Mourinho who instilled that confidence, criticised, provoked and motovated players. He made Real Madrid best counter attacking team on the planet. (Remember he bought Modric to Real, gave opportunities to Big Benz and Varane and many players). Later Ancelotti structured this squad and finally Zidane reap it's benefits.

I agree with one of the points brought up. Real Madrid's "philosophy" is to play football. That's their go-to strategy. While Liverpool's strong point, and what they get praised for, is pressing and shutting down other teams. So basically Liverpool's best trait isn't actually football. They don't know what to do if their pressing isn't working.

As a Real Madrid fan, Klopp runs the risk of becoming another Simeone. Challenging for the bare minimum from now on. Klopp and his loyalty to so many players is another problem for Liverpool. And what makes it worse, is that FSG does not have the resources to sign priority players in a modern economic football environment.

What a lot of ppl are missing here is that Liverpool has concentrated on buying players that other clubs wanted, just to sign them and let other clubs miss out. Look how many attackers they bought and the midfield is so weak. (Diaz, Jota, Gakpo, Nunez, Carvalho.Then you look at the fact that they didn’t want to pay Mane what he wanted, but they bought all those attacking players after; to now have Firmino on the bench is total mismanagement. Their recruitment is just a joke recently.

That's what I've been thinking too. I'm tired of the "Liverpool need X amount of money to spend to compete." They have the money, they've decided to spend it on the players they wanted in attack instead of bolstering their weak areas.

These guys never learn, I myself don’t support Madrid but you have to recognize, admit that it is the best team in the history of football. Camenaldo out and they still winning champions league. That’s the Madrid ADN. Meanwhile Barcelona is getting humilliated in Europa League 2 years in a row . Madrid, the greatest team ever.🤷🏻‍♂️

I was kind of concerned when Real were 2 nil down It felt as if something was off It was Real were gonna make a massive comeback probably not seen before in ucl

I have supported Barcelona for 20+ because of Dinho and GOAT, which meant I have always wanted RM to lose every game they play. However, I have never let my hatred blind me to the fact that they are the greatest club in the history of football. One has to be a fool and/or blind to not accept this.

To answer Stevie's question about the Ole-ing... I was at Anfield 2002 LIVERPOOL 1 BARÇA 3 UCL group stage & we were Ole-ing a 35+ pass move which eventually lead to Overmars scoring third goal 👍

As an Atletico fan, I remember last season how Stevie has been massively degrading Atleti and straight biased in comparison with Liverpool style of play vs Atleti own with absolutely no respect for the club. I'm so glad he's having his humble pie this season. Atleti 4th place, Loserpool 8th In the league. It's great how Karma always comes back around without many people realizing eventually down the line.

People don't understand one thing: the way Real plays UCL is totally different than how they play LaLiga! In UCL they have motivation that lacks them in LaLiga...that's why it is very difficult to beat them in this particular competition
