Real Doctor Reacts to Doogie Howser MD || Pilot Episode

Time for a blast from the past!! Doogie Howser MD! Have any of you ever seen this show? I would say it's Neil Patrick Harris at his best...but I mean how can you even compete with How I Met Your Mother? This is my first time reacting to a show, so let me know how you guys like it and if it's something you would want to see more of!

LOL. That calculator is a Hewlett Packard 28S. I know because I had one all through engineering school. It is designed for physics, math, and engineering applications. I don't believe that a graduated doctor is going to have time to solve complicated math problems like differential equations, integral calculus, linear algebra, etc. I've never seen a doctor use an HP calculator. This was done just for show to emphasize his genius brain.

I'm not used to seeing the young NPH :D But on a real note.. I have to "wake up" in 5 hours and go to the hospital for admission (just some blood tests), but I'm so anxious - I can't fall asleep! I'm not even scared of needles, I just hate sitting/laying in a hospital bed :D

Not true. Firefighters in Australia use pagers and are the largest consumers of pagers in Australia. Our state emergency service (SES) use them too, but our doctors just use phones mostly now. Not sure about paramedics in Aus.

Seems like such a fun show! But I guess I can’t watch it anymore ☹️. About losing the patient. I haven’t been watching you very long. I just discovered you this year if I am not mistaken. But you mentioned in the field / part (I don’t know which is the right word for it. English is not my first language), you are in right now, don’t really deal with losing patients. What part of medicine are you in right now? Just curious. As I am getting to know you better ☺️. And what parts have you done before? I am enjoying your videos! I guess in the next few days I’ll be watching some of your older videos. And of course will continue watching all your upcoming videos! You are really nice and sweet ☺️. Looking forward to all the upcoming videos. I commented on the one with the dirty sounding words, with a suggestion, which you said you will do a video on that with some nurses. Do you have any idea when that will be up? I am looking forward to that one! No rush of course! Sending love from The Netherlands! ❤️

It’s on hulu if you have that! That’s where I was watching it. Right now I work in student health at a university, so most of the students are fairly healthy... prior to this I was in fellowship and residency so was doing a little bit of everything. As far as my vid with the nurses, it’s prob gonna have to wait until summer because we are getting slammmmed currently and no time at work!

Hulu is American. So I don’t know about that? Student health sounds nice! 😊 And about the video, that is okay, like I said, no rush, or no need to even do it. But I thought it was a fun idea! 😉 Wishing you all the best in these busy times!!

I see we were both late today. 😁 Now Doogie Howser, I may have watched one episode but it never caught my interest. I remember the opening scene were he's walking down the hall and thinking this kid can't tie his shoes and he's a doctor. 😆 So this show was way after my time . I was close to early retirement from the Army when this came on. But I kid. When I was growing up the three medical shows I remember were Dr. Kildare with Richard Chamberlain, Ben Casey with Vince Edwards Doc Zorba is a trip in that. These were 60's shows. In the 70's We had Marcus Welby MD that was with Robert Young. And there was one with Chad Everett called Medical Center. That ran from '69-'76. You should check these out watch a episode or two and let us know what you think. Boob Tube or one of the sites should have them. Calculators, I remember when they first came out. I had my first one in '73. It was made by Texas Instruments. Very rarely used it and we couldn't use them in school. They wanted us to rack our brains instead.😵 Alright Doc , come clean on your age. I'll say your around 26 or 27. Close😉. This was a fun one. Let us know what you think. Until next time. Charlie Mike.

This is hard bc I haven’t seen all of them!! Probably House haha. They are always at the patients apartments digging through their stuff which would literally never happen. Greys has a lot of stuff way off too, but I can see why they need to do it for the sake of the show 🤷🏻‍♀️
