Real Doctor Reacts to DOOGIE HOWSER M.D. | Medical Drama Review

I get the Doogie Howser comparison a lot! Having a late birthday and finishing an accelerated med school program meant that I was in Med School by age 20! I had to watch Doogie Howser M.D. and see for myself if this boy prodigy really knows his stuff. Neil Patrick Harris, I see you.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy this episode of Real Doctor Watches Doogie Howser M.D. / Real Doctor Reacts to Doogie Howser M.D. If you want me to continue making this doctor reaction video and medical drama review please give it a like and leave me a comment on which tv drama or show you'd like for me to review next. there was never any resolution for him being molested and humiliated in front of all the adults (I thought they all wanted to rape him when I was a kid watching the show) and the first woman was just the start of a string of rapes by all the adult men and women he would have to endure while trying to practice medicine. I was so terrified for him...but I also liked him as a person and was rooting for him.

Honestly I think Doctor Mike called it; the age of the "victim" in that scenario is pretty secondary to the fact that those idiots thought it would be funny in the first place. I mean, the entire premise of the "joke" relied on him actually finding her somewhat attractive, and taking advantage of that to embarass him. It was a serious error in judgement on the parts of the people who set it up. Would it have been so bad if it was a serious thing for the two of them? That's... debatable. But kind of irrelevant to what it actually was, so there's little point in debating it.

100% agree with doctors having appropriate emotional reactions. My son's pediatrician had tears in his eyes when we told him that our senior dog passed away. Tequila _ I don’t know where you live, but in my country the status of a „child“ is extremely precise defined in the law. The rights transition is gradual and the status „child“ ends completely with the age of 14. You don’t need to be an adult to have the right of sexual freedom. These rights start already in your adolescence.

The worst part about losing that patient? It. Was. *Preventable.* Doogie *knew* that he should have repaired the valve; he *KNEW* that the surgery was gonna kill him. No one listened to him. That's what hurt the most.

TheJjcczz Yep, her name is Michaela Quinn. The show is set in the late 1800s (right after the civil war) in Colorado (western frontier) and when the city hired her, the telegraph operator wrote down her name as “Michael A. Quinn” so they were expecting a man. When she arrived, most of the townsfolk refused to see a “lady doctor” but a few of them took her under their wing (she was from Boston and definitely not suited to frontier life). Some of them nicknamed her Dr. Mike. :)

I was 20 weeks pregnant when I found out my baby had a very serious heart defect. Right after that I had to take my son to the pediatrician. She could tell something was wrong but just asked if I had been feeling okay. I burst crying and loaded the whole thing. She cried along with me. It was one of the most comforting things that happened during that time. She was a huge advocate for us with the other doctors while my baby was in ICU 2 hours away having her surgery, which had complications and an 8-week ICU stay. Btw, that baby is now a thriving (and sassy) 7-year-old! ❤️

I'll never forget the icu nurse that cried with my family when we lost my dad. I'm pretty sure she was there more than she was scheduled to be. Seemed like weeks but was actually only a few days. He coded several times, got a stent put in his heart, had dialysis after his kidneys started failing and she was there through it all. I don't really remember the dr(sorry doc), but her, I will never forget. I know she cared and it meant the world. 💕🥰

This wasn't a medical drama tho.. it's doogie howser, a show for KIDS. Kids loved it because it showed a kid being able to tell grownups what to do (what kid doesn't love that?). Commenting on it as if it was a modern drama show, commenting on all the things they got wrong.. I mean i know that's what mike does, but it's pointless. It's a KIDS SHOW... It's like commenting on shows on nikelodeon as if they were mainstream shows on HBO..
