I'm sorry to hear that Jim has passed. I still visit these videos regularly to keep focus on the fundamentals. Jim was a great teacher and thank you to whom ever is maintaining the you tube channel and the sale of his books!

Jim, you're the best! This lesson worth as much as tenths of others. After years of playing "my way" it's a great thing to me to find lessons like this where "little things" comes to matter and force me to "tweak" my playing to higher level. Who ever asks me for bass practising material, I always refer to your channel mainly because you focus on essence of bass playing. Keep on teaching!

Talking about teaching an old dog new tricks, haha. My dad was a jazz bassist, and even though I mainly played guitar, I love playing bass too. I've been trying to relearn everything after years off. My fingers want to play the same old patterns, but i really love these kinds of challenges, glad i found your channel. Thanks...

"When you get to where your shifting is solid and confident and you don't have to look at your hands, and you can just relax and feel it, That's THE Ticket, you'll just play better music."
