    Great review! I've got the mag well block and the bench block, they worked out phenomenal on my last build. Really like the thought and engineering that went into their tools, pretty in disposable tools.

    Their customer service is among the best. I ordered a kit, one of the buckles was jacked up, I emailed them and they overnighted a new one, no questions asked. I've done 3 assemblies in the past 2 months and the kit has been perfect. I use a different torque wrench and geissele gas pin punches, but this kit is definitely of great quality.

    Put pressure on the “ejector” not the extractor. This will allow you to remove the ejector so you can use you bolt to check headspace.

  • @krakenprecision6067
    @krakenprecision60673 жыл бұрын

    Good video. A couple things of note. The bench block has a magnetized bottom so when you punch out a roll pin it doesn’t go flying. It sticks under the bottom. Also the twisty thing on the bench block is for the ejector instead of the extractor. The reaction rod upper holder has three pins in the red cap. The center one is used just as explained in the video but the two on the other side are also removable and are placed into the holes on the flat part so you can position the upper in any direction in the vice. The lower vice block is the best one I’ve seen yet. When it’s tightened in the mag well it holds it solid. There is not “slop”. A couple things that would have made the kit better get rid of the “D” ring tool and add some crows feet for other barrel nuts and a breaker bar, get rid of two of the plastic picks and add a couple metal ones, add a couple common hex wrenches for gas blocks and hand grips etc, change out the cheap torque wrench for a click type, and add a spanner wrench, also add a gas block alignment tool. Otherwise it’s a great kit. Wait for it to go on sale. Usually runs around $250, got mine by joining a buyers club and with a 10% discount I got it for $150.

    I was an armorer in the USMC (2111) and worked on thousands if not tens of thousands of M16’s. There were only a handful of M16 specific tools. Most of them were not even daily use. I think my most used tools were pin punches and a small brass hammer. As I watched this video I was struck by the fact that the same thought kept entering my mind: “ahhh that’s neat and could be handy.” If you have money to burn and space to store this kit, I guess go for it.

    Jesse Garcia I don’t think this kit is meant for the everyday consumer. It’s meant for people who make a living in the gun industry. The shop I Smith at, we put together 1 or 2 AR builds a week. So for someone like me it would easily pay for itself. Also it’s nice having everything in one compact kit rather than 8 different sets of tools in different drawers. But yes, for the average gun owner this is overpriced.

    The kit does not contain everything you need. You will at the very least need a set of hex keys, if for nothing else other than the grip screw depending on the build. Also, there is no either/or for polymer vs nylon. Nylon IS a polymer, and most "polymer" you will encounter in firearms is a nylon. There is no specific material that is "polymer". It is not a material that exists on its own. A polymer is a type or class of materials that includes everything from Jello to the nylon on your rifles and maybe the soles of your shoes. The term polymer as its used in firearms is merely a marketing tactic to avoid using the term plastic. Most plastics are in fact polymers, however most polymers are in fact plastics, and ALL the polymers used in firearms are plastics. Its generally Nylon 6/6 with a glass fill of some percentage. There are some specific brands/composition nylons that are used that can change the characteristics, but they are STILL NYLON, and they are STILL PLASTIC. You can call them polymer to make yourself feel better about having plastic on a rifle if you want, but its still plastic. I know this was referring to the tools, but you should be aware of the lack of difference.

    If you didn't know it existed, did you really need it? Some of that stuff seems fine but that armorer's wrench/hammer thing I personally would never use. I prefer to have a hammer for the necessary task at hand mainly because the quality of those multi tool/hammer things is generally crap and has too much weight for what you need.

    The quality over all of the kit is kinda janky. A few tools are nice and helpful. Overall all its cheaply made. Would make a good range kit. But if You are serious about building rifles I would buy tools that are better quality.

    At least it works, and it doesn't smell like harbor freight. Their customer service and distribution is out of the northwest US. My smart torq wrench locked up and I sent a 3 second video to their customer service and 3 days later I had a brand new one. I asked what they wanted to do with the old one and they said throw it away. Their customer service is great hands down .
