I like all of the voices between Steppenwolf, Darksied, and Dessad. They all sound like I imagine you would if you were from a place like Apokolips. The air is harsh and toxic so they have these deep, smokey voices that sound distinctly alien

There were plenty of good stuff in the MCU. Unfortunately, the childish people, who have the power to determine the success or failure of a film, had decided that Snyder made them vomit, that he was incompetent, that he had to be replaced. We live in dark times, where the ignorant people of the internet have the power to destroy the creative vein of a director. A true abomination. But we all deserve it....we will from now on enjoy pimply puberty boy movies....unless something changes. Snyder put all his heart into these films....and it shows....would have been epic...but there will be no sequel...shame.

With only a couple of scenes and a few lines of dialogue, Darkseid manages to be one of the most imposing and presence-commanding villains I've ever seen in film or TV. Every time he talks is just... chills, man. Bravo, Ray Porter. Bravo, Zack Snyder.

Don't know about all that, just standing there doesn't give me anything about a commanding presence. He didn't even strike fear in the JL, that's not imposing IMHO. There's been villains who actually shook the protagonist when they first came across each other and the audience too. This didn't do anything.

Your threat that you can easily mop just botched your plans and are sitting there for the taking but it just stands there. There's been far better scenes done and this one would've been better done like they did Thanos. Show him for sure but show him separately as the next imposing threat away from the protagonist, not staring at them across a portal.

​@@chrisstucker1813 Not at all. First of all, Cyborg has already destroyed the motherboxes from the inside, so the unity is out of the question. Plus, Superman has already defeated Darkseid *on his own* in multiple other stories in other mediums before ZSJL, so claiming Darkseid could "walk over their scorched corpses" when talking about Superman AND the rest of the league united is one hell of a stretch at best. Now let's look at how this goes down; when you remove the slow motion, this scene actually happens extremely quickly in real time. The motherboxes being separated and Steppenwolf getting sent back beheaded all happens in only a few seconds. So, what Darkseid sees here is this; he opens a portal to the only planet that has ever defeated him, and immediately sees the motherboxes torn apart before his servant is thrown back to him impaled and beheaded by six super-powered beings that he knows nothing about. That is one *hell* of a message, especially from a world that has already beaten him once. There is no way Darkseid would be foolish enough to then step through recklessly and try to take down the entire Justice League, by himself with zero preparation whilst knowing nothing about them, after witnessing them do that on a world he has already lost and nearly died on once. Plus, Darkseid may not be familiar with the league and all their powers, but he *does* know how powerful Kryptonians can be. It was going to be an entire storyline that Darkseid needs to kill Lois Lane to weaken Superman enough for him to be susceptible to the anti-life equation, because Darkseid *knows* just how much of a threat even a single Kryptonian can be and how hard it would be to defeat Superman physically. And on top of all this, Darkseid doesn't even have the anti-life equation yet in this scene. It's his ultimate goal, and there's no way he would take any stupid chances with the anti-life equation finally within his grasp. So to summarise, no. Darkseid doing nothing wasn't "kinda lame" at all. It would actually have been unfathomably stupid of him to throw himself against the league here, and he knew that. Hence why he didn't do it.

I hope Zac Snyder continues these movies I wanna see Superman fight darkseid

Out of Snyder’s 3 (MoS, BvS, ZSJL) I personally think this one is actually the least dark out of all of them. Still dark, but it ended on a triumphant note despite the possible dark future. Meanwhile in MoS and BvS they ended in (mostly) tragedy. Victory at a huge cost unlike ZSJL. BvS would easily be the darkest if it didn’t end with hope rekindled in Batman, which is way less dark than MoS imo. MoS may have ended with Clark starting his job at the Daily Planet and things looking more up (pun intended) but that had nothing to do with Metropolis’s destruction and killing Zod. MoS basically said okay those consequences happened and there doesn’t need to be any sense of resolution to that, just have Clark continue being Superman and start his new civilian job.

I swear DC is killing itself by not making a continuation from the Snyder's cut. Just get that man back!

Even though he had a couple of scenes and his presence was teased throughout the movie, Zack Synder did an amazing job in not only establishing Darkseid as a true force of pure evil but as a dangerous threat to the entire world and the Justice League. It really left you wanting to see more of him and wondering when he will show up next. Such a shame that we may never get any resolution to this epic story arc 😢

In another Multiverse Justice League Snyderverse has a three-part masterpiece. A total of 24 hrs for the 3 movies.

I don't like the way Darkseid was portrayed in this movie, he was turned into a cowardly weakling. At first, his alien troops defeated the ordinary aborigines, who are a million years behind in technical terms, and he himself was able to defeat three gods: Zeus, Ares and Artemis, although in the comics, in a weaker form, he was able to defeat and kill the same Zeus. Then he forgot about the special planet where the equation he needed was located and did not mention it for a thousand years until Steppenwolf found him and was afraid to intervene in the battle, although again in the comics and cartoons he viciously kicked the backs of superheroes even being blind.

I always wondered that. If he jumps through that portal with granny goodness, desaad and the parademons then the JL wouldn’t be able to stop the unity. The motherboxes would unite and Darkseid would walk over their fried corpses.

I feel like this scene was a long time coming. I feel like all of the individual films showed the heroes all at their lowest, only to bring them together so they could bring the best out of each other. Every part of the team is vital and it doesn’t feel forced at all. Plus, honestly, these guys have way more chemistry than the most of the avengers movies and they’ve only had one film. Doesn't have to be justice league vs Avengers. I think they both work in their own way. Chris Evans and Robert Downey JR have some of the best on screen chemistry of any comic book characters. Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen are up there too.

God the intensity at 2:16 is just amazing ! I really wish DC would get their heads out their asses and let Snyder ( GOAT) FINISH THESE MASTERPIECES.

So far to me the only projects that WB has gotten so successful for was the old Looney Tunes movies and shows, the old Scooby Doo shows, Gremlins, Beetlejuice, The Dark Knight Trilogy, Happy Feet, The Ant Bully, a few Horror film franchises, the Harry Potter franchise and Legendary's Monsterverse

In the short timeframe of only three or four scenes, Darkseid managed to be perhaps the most imposing and threatening comic book villain I have ever seen in a film or tv series. His voice, his presence, the single motions of him turning to face the League and smashing Steppenwolf’s head like a grape. They all represent Darkseid’s unyielding persona and his insane power in comparison to other beings. And yet, unlike other iterations of his character, he feels humble, because he took DeSaad’s “I told you so,” in a way that suggested he knew he made a mistake by trusting in someone like Steppenwolf to do what he needed to all along. It suggests we are dealing with a far less ruthless version of Darkseid that is willing to show some manner of leniency, or wait until the appropriate moment to exact terrible justice on those he seems threatening. Otherwise he would’ve used his Omega Beam on the League when the Boom Tube was open, but he didn’t. Either that, or he wants to make the League suffer personally.

Ready the Armada.... Pure goosebumps... And you can feel that voice chilling down there to your spine... Dasaad and Darkseid created so much fear in this scene... Really shameful that DC is going to miss this story

I like how he said "We'll use the old ways" since humanity has no common goal unlike earlier so he can conquer earth more easily now

Wish we had at least 2 more movies for the story to conclude properly, it would have been spectacular.

Just imagine watching this in the Theaters, damn Warner bros, they are been robbed so much....

I don't like the way Darkseid was portrayed in this movie, they made him out to be a cowardly weakling. At first, his alien troops lost essentially to ordinary aborigines, who were behind in technology by a million years, and he himself was defeated by the three old gods: Zeus, Ares and Artemis, although in the comics in a weaker form he was able to defeat and kill the same Zeus. Then he forgot about the particular planet where the equation he needed was located and didn't think about it for a thousand years until Steppenwolf found him and was afraid to get involved in the fight, though again in the comics and cartoons he could easily fight the entire League even as blind.

Bro I love how cold they made Darksied look 🤣

I ADORE this movie! ❤ I feel deeply saddened that nothing has been done officially to continue this story, as Zack intended.😢

Hope to see Zack Snyder's vision sometime in the future..

I think we will see him somewhere in 5-10 years, by then the people will calm down and easily accept him (people change and quickly forget). Until then, there will be other villains of which there are many in DC, plus after Thanos and the Apocalypse, Darkseid already looks secondary (and I know that in the comics he appeared earlier, but Thanos was filmed first, and now villains of a similar type are perceived by everyone as his imitation).

Now we will have a Center from the comic book New Barrier and Authorities with tolerant superheroes. And Superman and Batman will focus on non-killing and have fun joking around.

I hate DC for what they have done with this spectacular story. Zack was a Visionary man. 😢

I get that no one wants to sit in a cinema for four hours. This was the perfect movie for streaming.

This shows great potential! Looking forward to seeing Pt. 2 & Pt. 3 of Justice League and more movies to come!

Dude's got his face in all of those stain glass windows. I'm guessing he's not the humble type.

These Gunn DC movies will be Marvel copies, designed to make people giggle and sell toys and tickets. They’ll satisfy you for the night and go over easy so they can get a high Rotten Tomatoes score. But they won’t speak to anybody. They won’t last. They’ll have adolescent jokes that take you out of the movie. They’ll be made for children. Thank God we have these three epics that capture the Godlike DC mythology.

@@user-iz7km4zl5k “non-canonical” to what? Don’t say “the comics.” There is no “the comics.” These characters are so broad in their design they are open to an infinite number of interpretations. Their stories have been told since the beginning of time and will last until the very end of time. This is sort of what BvS is about and you missed it: fighting about what we want our heroes to be is useless because there is only what we need them to be. They are our mythology.

I wish we could see the rest of what Snyder had planned.

I like how when Darkseid has his foot on Steppenwolfs head, he looks back at the Justice League in a calm manner. Almost like them killing Steppenwolf and destroying the mother boxes were no big deal for him. But when the boom tube closes, he's pissed. He was so close to obtaining anti-life and now he has to prepare an Avatar and the armada to possess it
