As I recall from the movie, Artemis states to Parzival that "Gunters aren't willing to risk losing their crap." So perhaps some of the gunters did try going backwards, but they drove slowly because the thought of hitting the wall was on their minds. Since that didn't work, they must've deemed that driving backwards was not the answer. However, Parzival later finds out from Halliday that going backwards as fast as you can was the way to go. It was a leap of faith.

@@xalivar5866I’m sure players before Z have tried that, but most likely failed since they didn’t watch the archive first. Maybe a few months at most before people would find out all of the strategies, but five years is just insane for a competition like this.

Saw something that made so much sense..that the only secret was to drive backwards? If anybody has played any sort of driving game, there's always that one dude that goes backwards...the fact that no one thought of it, is a little silly. Sorry if i ruined this scene for anyone...this scene in general is badass and can be enjoyed regardless.

Your forgetting the a team van, the general Lee, all the autobots in their vehicle modes, terminators herse, station wagon, or motorcycle, burt Reynolds pontiac from smokey and the bandit, the terror truck from "duel".... the list goes on ngl. Heck you could even have a star wars dlc with lukes land speeder lol

@Projectstupid1 only problem would be tho is that nobody from a younger generation would know where these cars came from lol. But it's not entirely true, I mean I was born in 2001, and yet I know about ALL those cars I just listed, and they were made 20 to 30 years before I was even thought about 😆

Windows in the delorean dont go down.. only a small part does so if you want to shot and drive you must have the gulldoors open
