Some of my childhood memories are of the adventures I didn’t experience myself but read about in books. It’s incredible how a book - white pages with letters printed on them - can take you on an adventure, transporting you to places which can’t be reached by foot.
I didn’t read much as a teenager and young adult - at first it was because of too much school and university (the real book joy killers lol), and in my early twenties I started travelling and reality so reality around me became too stimulating to seek other adventures.
However, since we (husband and I) bought our home half a year ago, life has slowed down, and I am not sad about it. It is time to get cosy and enjoy fantasy again 🙂
