Reading Resource Files (Images) with IntelliJ IDEA
This is a supplemental video for Part 3 ( • Sprites and Animation ... ) of my 2D Game tutorial series.
It seems some people have been struggling to create a resource directory and read images with IntelliJ IDEA, I decided to make a quick video to show how I do it.
Hope this helps you to resolve your issue!

men, you are incredible. Such an excelent teacher and coder, and it os so clear your worry to give us a high quality content. Just thanks, men. You´re the guy
love your content! You teach us without wanting to show off your skills with overly complicated code. You are a real teacher!
It's an amazing series of tutorial to follow. The way you explain complex ideas are really clear
Man I was struggling to load up my image icons in my jar file using intellij . You came in as a Savior . Great content man, you saved me a lot of time...
Oh man, thank you so much you made video on how to do that in intellij. It took me days to figure it out 😄😃
very nice video, thanks you!!
Nice video as always!
Thank you so much for this clip, I need it so much. But can I have a question that is what design pattern do you using in this 2d game.

Oh my god I can fully relate rn, thanks, this fixed it for me. Anyway, good music, what's the song?
I am temped to try the Intellij IDEA! One of my favorite modern games is the Stranger Things 1984 = on mobile game platform. I downloaded the Earthbound game on my old NES, and currently grinding through it now - it's a VERY inspiring game. I'm also currently developing a RPG attack scene simular to Earthbound, (Mother2.) in Java. It's a just a solo-package piece right now, creating as a mini game to later add in my larger game project. Inspired by Earthbound, when my main character hits an invisible collision detections, an attackWindow() class will take player to battle or conversation screen between NPC or enemies . Pull player in - to those simular experence of Earthbound - player experiences - to hunt for story from NPC. I really LOVED the first Zelda game!!! I remember playing the game - without peeking into the game instruction book, and everything was a mystery! The opening overview was all I knew... Stranger Things and Undertale kinda hit these marks! LOL! Earthbound's original game is the best! On an old pixel NES!

Hello, I have a question How to make an object moving so that when the player is placed on that object, the player also moves For example, an object moves from left to right and when the player stands on that object, it starts moving in the same direction
Another nice video @RyiSnow! Thanks! Give me a hint, please, how to add a timer to potions? For example, so that the speed potion gives a boost for 5 seconds (I'm sorry that the question is not on the topic of the video)
@RyiSnow
Жыл бұрын
That's actually pretty easy to implement. Here's an example: 1. Create a boolean boostOn. 2. When you use the potion, set the boolean true and increase the player's speed (store the default speed value somewhere so you can restore it later). 3. Use a counter and count 5 seconds (300 frames) 4. Set the boolean false and restore the player's original speed value.

@@RyiSnowthanks! I did it! I'm really worried about the last question. I can't think of a solution. Help me, please, master) How to make the projectile be selected as a weapon or shield? I want to implement magic staff. To do this, I made a "currentStaff" and the staffs in the inventory change, but the fireball does not change. How to write a code correctly? (I'm waiting for your new videos)
is it possible to add instruction to the game because im trying to add it but i dont know how
behind the string on the path to the file is name: how do i do it
in vscode i used new fileInputStrem to make it happen I couldn't find anyother way of doing it
Hii RyiSnow, how'd you do this in eclipse?

Man what was that "guitar" song?
Those using gradle as build tool, specify resource directory in the build.gradle file as: ``` sourceSets { main { resources { srcDir "src/main/res" } } } ```

Thank you for this comment.
Bro how to make this for android? And how to make this multiplayer lan?
Nice video 😊 I was wondering if you could make one for turning blue boy adventure into a java exe then a normal exe so people don't need java. I'm really struggling with that part and if you could help I would appreciate it very much man thanks again for all these videos.

a long time ago he did make a video about how to export project as executable jar file and then converting it to an executable file, and including java files in the folder so that people without java installed could still run the game He used an application called Launch4j That's the video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/mmpsuc56nsK8lso.html I hope it can be helpful

remove the first slash before the player in the path and add getClassLoader() so it looks like this: up1 = ImageIO.read(getClass().getClassLoader().getResourceAsStream("player/player_walk1.png"));
it doesn’t work!
