1. Ask yourself "why" ? (why is it relevant to the program you're applying for ?) 2. Engage your audience (start off strong and with passion) 3. how does your past experience make you a right candidate ? 4. mention at the end the ppl or organizations you would like to work with in the future, during the program or after - make sure your PS flows with the identity of the school and the expectations of the program - Be CLEAR and HONEST - Name YOUR GOALS - The hardest part is starting, start with a draft with "who you are? what you want to do ?" (type anything for 20 min, throw away your phone and any distraction) - Do the 20 min exercise again the next day and make new edits

Hi Schola. I've heard polarizing opinions about mentioning specific people/professors in the essay. Some say it's good because it shows that we have done our research about the school whilst demonstrating clear goals. However, others also say it might rub the admissions committee the wrong way, especially if the professor that we mention isn't part of the admissions committee. What do you think about this? P.S.
