obsessed with the southern pronunciation of “horror” and you starting the video by saying you’re a romance reader. Immediately my brain made the joke of “well you’re not switching it up bc you’re still reading ‘whOr3’ books” 😂

I can say each of your reactions were literally the same for me; straight skin crawling, turning away, gagging, just Icked out, and in genuine horror at points! I’m so glad you liked it, it was one of my favorite reads last year, so happy you enjoyed it as well!

I’m a huge Stephen King fan, and I’m so happy you Misery! If you want another horror book challenge I’d recommend Pet Sematary by Stephen King, and also the original film adaptation from 1989! But if you do ever want to read more Stephen King without any / or too much of the horror element, I’d recommend Billy Summers, Fairy Tale, Elevation, 11/22/63, The Outsider (this is mostly a crime/mystery with some horror if I’m recalling correctly), and then after that one Holly (which would also be a similar mix of the two genres, more so crime imo). Anyways happy reading! ✌🏻💛

Immediately going to grab the Grady Hendrix book! The only true horror book I have read is his other book called The Final Girl Support Group. Word of caution: I thought, as a lover of 80s/90s horror movies, that it was really good but it does get very gory and I could not read it anywhere near bedtime

I had no idea what I was getting into when reading the Southern Vampire book and I was shocked lol! I did love it! I too have a fear of roaches too! And scorpions which my house does get, esp in the warmer months. Anyways, you might like the book Devolution by Max Brooks. It’s not horror but it’s about a neighborhood that gets attack by Sasquatch. It’s crazy and esp good on audiobook. Sounds weird but I really liked it!
