It’s a bit late to say happy birthday but anyway there I said it. I just found your channel a couple of weeks ago and you’re already on the top of my favourite list. Your opinions are definitely not controversial. In the case of BC Rich the were eye opening and you probably saved me a lot of money. I’m also like you a guitarist for not so many years, 3 to be exact. And this actually really helped me knowing what not to buy. Thnx for the content keep it up dude.

Happy Birthday. I subbed, I found you because of KDH's vid of your vid. Mr M... I am going to make you jealous man. I saw him once, when he was in Alcatraz. Maybe it was because they were an opening act and it was the first time he was in the USA... but he was not that good live. He tried too hard to capture what he did in the studio and he could not recreate it live. I actually lost touch with his music (and the drama that is him) after Fire & Ice. Take what you can from his style and channel it into developing your own style. Is he a great guitarist? Of course! Is he top 10? No. Top 100? Maybe. I feel your pain though. I was lucky enough to see my idols perform live when I was still very young. I have also lived long enough to see them fall off of the pedestal that I placed them upon. Respect the talent that they have/had, but don't expect them to be better people. You probably understand this better than I did, because you are an artist.

"once you find yrself one with no flaws" - how many do you have to BUY to get a good one?? Imagine the disappointment of someone who saves their pennies to order their first 'name' guitar? -To paraphrase Glenn, if Harley Benton can master Quality Control,there's really NO excuse... The trouble with something as personal as a gee-tar, you associate it with all the good times you had with it, learning, thrashing making songs - so engineering objectivity goes out the window, specially if you get a 'good' sample of a rather flaky brand. Like me, when my fairly basic Yamaha basses get damaged or stolen,I'd get a used one and rebuild- bass-ically it's a decent body to put my nice pickups and wires into ;)

I got the vibe that you were a fender guy and that me, a high gain loving metal dude might not share the same tastes so I kinda disagree with some of the views, like the emg video as well, but doesn’t make anyone wrong, just different likes and tastes. Nor does it stop me from watching and learning. Guitar is a extremely versatile instrument, and it’s not just possible but like probable that someone’s gonna be looking for something different in a sound than you. Especially when you find yourself on a different wavelength than metalheads…

As much as I love Zakk Wylde, I really hate his Wylde Audio guitars. They always end up on everyone’s ugly guitar lists. I bought a Les Paul years ago because of him and wish he would play them again. Something about Schecter guitars always looked bootleg to me. And I’m talking about even from the 1990s.

I do have a Schecter guitar that is awesome! But they all cant be good right? I'm sure a lot of them would have annoying problems, some would sound or feel shit. I don't agree with about half the things you say. But who cares, So what if you give Schecter guitars shit? You're entitled to your opinion. nothing wrong with different opinions. One thing I will agree with you about Zakks Signature guitars? They look god awful.

As far as the most toxic and elitist communities out there, Id say the UFC and Star Wars communities get pretty nasty. Im sure the Lord of the Rings will get bad once the Amazon show starts coming out. Also the online drumming community seems to hate on the heavy metal drummers quite a bit. Upload yourself doing an AC/DC beat and they will praise you but upload yourself doing blast beats and they treat you like a scrub. Im just like... WTF dude lmao

It's because over the last two decades corporate brands and media outlets have realized they get more attention and money from creating and perpetuating toxic environments. It's capitalist commercialism taken to the extreme. We're slowly being trained by advertising campaigns and paid actors to be toxic to one another. It's actually catching up with politics which has always had that toxic aspect to it. It's why Mark Twain once said that as soon as you find yourself agreeing with the majority it's time to pause and reflect.
