I have seen this pond before. Fabulous. Dave sounds such a wise man. I totally agree with everything he has said. There is such a massive difference between keeping koi and building a collection, and there is nothing snobby about it as Dave said. Natural progression and pushing ourselves to the higher end of the hobby is a long term thing and a slow progress at times, but I am so much in tune with what Dave says, it's just being at different stages of the hobby as time progresses. My favourite Readers' Pond interview so far. Great stuff

Nice koi but like he said he bought big, not knocking him down but I started buying big at first too but now I am getting into growing on more it's just more satisfying watching koi grow, great pond and yeah it was not build over night but this days it could be build quickly especially with drums being so cheap so the hobby has got easier I think than when he was starting up, none the less great looking pond and fish.

So even with an indoor pond he needs a microscope because parasites are still a problem. That is why I gave up on Koi, too much work. Nice collection though.
