Apparently the voice for tails is being done by the lady who did the original voice too. Shes the only one that came back but i think the current VAs they have are great. Especially knuckles

What I enjoyed the most was Knuckles line. “Do I look like I need your power!?” That line was so BADASS!!! They honestly did the echidna justice!!

They didn't have to base this movie around the original Sonic the Hedgehog 2 from way back when, but they did it anyway and I love it to bits.

I am goddamn hyped to see this movie. Jim Carrey, my all-time favorite actor, back as Robotnik makes me smile. Also, it's good to see Tails in this, as well as being voiced by the same voice actress. But, Idris Elba as Knuckles??? Didn't expect that. *"Do I look like I need your power?"*

@Jeffrey Uy: Both are correct. His Japanese name has always been Eggman, but he was renamed Dr. Robotnik in Sonic 1 for other regions. In Sonic Adventure, Sega finally decided to combine the two names, so he is now officially Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik. In the US version, the change to Eggman is explained as a nickname Sonic gave him.

It took me a second watch to realize that it was the master emerald, which makes a lot of sense

We all have to go do our part and support this movie again! I'm taking the whole family. Let's show hollywood that videogame movies will pay off if they're actually done right!

Watching all these clips, there's strangely a very recognizable pattern in almost everyone's reactions to Knuckles. 1. Seeing a few frames of him from the wide angle, and recognizing him purely from his color. Reactors are happy to learn he's in the movie. 2. A close up of his design, which they 100% nailed. Nailing a design like this is a big deal considering the fiasco with the original, horrible 'realistic' design choice for sonic. Everyone appreciates this design, and are shocked at how good he looks. 3. Hearing his voice for the first time, establishing him as a badass on par with Sonic in terms of power level, possibly higher. Some reactors immediately recognize Idris Elba. The fact that the hype is strong through all three of these revelations and levels of shock so consistently across the audience shows how good of a job they did.

Tails appears "Awwwww" Knuckles appears "OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

Everything about the trailer was pure nostalgia. Tails & Knuckles first appearance, the return of Eggman, the Master Emerald, the Tornado & the rivalry of Sonic & Knuckles due to Eggmans trickery. It's like living in the Sega days all over again.

This movie legitimately looks very good, hope it lives up to the hype!

That was the Master Emerald not Chaos Emerald. Knuckles is guardian of the master emerald, Robotnik tricked Knuckles into thinking that Sonic had stolen it, hence why he was initially on Robotniks side at first.

@@petrolhead0387 Yah but you can't exactly blame people it because it looks awfully small for the master emeralds. The green chaos emerald is also the most frequently seen so it's the first one associated with the emeralds. It Honestly looks about the size of the super emerald when compared to egg head. It's certainly bigger then his palm witch is the size of chaos emeralds, but at the same time it's not as big as it needs to be. Egg head often has to use a robot to swipe it and knuckles struggles to carry it some times due to the awkwardness of carrying it at that size. When you look at it in the movie trailer it just isn't that big. It should be the size at least of egg heads whole torso not just his belly.

Based on their reaction, you already know who the gamers and movie lovers are.

Just let everyone know that the voice of Knuckles is Idris Elba himself and he is being duped by Dr. Robotnik(which is true in the games when knuckles is first introduced).

When you're entrusted to guard something like the Master Emerald I think your power speaks for itself.

you know what's crazy? I think these Sonic movies are some of the most weirdly accurate to the source material and actually well written and fun video game movies/ adaptations we've ever had. I hope they make WAY more since the sonic verse has SO MUCH lore!

I'm excited for sonic tails and knuckles, They are one of my favorite characters.

Knuckles lost it since Shadow came in, Sonic X was his last time to shine as a badass. Now he is becoming a joke character even when we already have joke characters like Big and Team Chaotix. However the Sonic movie 2 saved him

Nah i dont think this movies villain will be Knuckles. I think the surprise villain will be Metal Sonic at the end, powered by the Master Emerald. Knuckles will realize he is being fooled during the movie.

Idris Elba has the BEST voice for deep voiced bad guys. I loved him as Shere Khan in the live action Jungle Book.

@@TheMoonRover thats the fake fan, I can see people confused on which of the emeralds it is since we are not sure if they are sticking to the size from the games. for all we know this could simply be the size of the movie chaos emeralds. calling it kryptonite is just ah... =.= worthy of a picard facepalm meme.

Knuckles is the equivalent of piccolo from DBZ but in Sonic universe evil at first but we all know that they'll become besties by the end of the movie. Happy that they are really building on the Sonic lore and taking it back to its roots and reintroducing the real storyline.

Piccolo is evil in dragon ball too. His first title in the series name is Evil King Piccolo. They use the evil containment wave to trap him.

Of course Knuckles will, he’s apart of “Team Sonic” and at the end of Sonic 3 & Knuckles, he fought Sonic and Tails until he realized Eggman tricked him; eventually helping the pair get the master emerald back.

Honestly as much as I love Metal Sonic, I would rather they save him for the next movie so he can be one of the main villains throughout the whole movie like Sonic OVA, but if he does appear in the movie I hope is an after credit scene where it shows us Eggman building Metal Sonic and his eye turn on with their menacing glow and it fades to black

There is a LOT of room to make the 3rd movie about the first 'Adventure' game, and its really exciting.

This movie is basically just the sequel games Sonic 2 & 3 , but oh man Jim Carrey reprising as Robotnik, Colleen O'Shaughnessey the iconic voice for Tails, Idris Elba the perfect voice for Knuckles, and Ben Schwarts who did an amazing job in the first movie and that's coming from a devoted Jason Griffith and Jaleel White fan. I can't wait to see how their gonna tell this story on big screen

Watching adults react with the emotion of a little kid is EVERYTHING! That’s exactly how I reacted. Amazing. They are giving Sonic fans what we want, and we love them for it. These movies have been fantastic, I am so excited for the third!
