Certain countries are more prone to get dislikes than others, mostly for political reasons. Countries, such as Armenia, Azerbaijan, Greece, North Macedonia, Russia, Ukraine etc. experience this due to regional conflicts. The entries receive a huge surge of dislikes immediately after the release of the song or the live performance, despite usually being songs and performances of good quality. Then there are also the UK and nowadays even Sweden who get their fair share of dislikes, too. The former is criticized for sending lackluster entries and paying their artists dust with the poor stagings, while the latter's entries are criticized for being overproduced and inauthentic. In my personal opinion, Sweden's entries are always of good quality and easily enjoyable pieces of music. However, I do see what people mean by overproduced and inauthentic - entries, such as Heroes, I Can't Go On and Dance You Off can feel a little soulless. Some Eurofans also think that Swedish entries are often a little overrated, especially by the jury, when people would rather celebrate something with a fresher/more ethnic sound. I feel like this sense of the Swedish entries being overrated adds on to the hate they get.

I disagree the uk send lacklustre entries,however I think the expectation is that the uk should be sending the best in europe because generally the uk is head and shoulders above europe when it comes to music

I hate the fact that Iveta is on this list - her live performance is usually considered by the majority of fans as one of the best live performances in Eurovision ever. She is here just because of envious Azerbaijans.

I was so impressed with Croatian song in 2016 that I rooted for it to win, but the staging was really underwhelming. :/ One good thing: Nina will be probably back next year! She sent submission for Croatian national final. ☺

From the author of the video (me): Thanks for the reaction) Yes, it's all about haters, I just was interested about how this "ranking by the amount of haters" would look and decided to make it. The video about semi finals turned out to be much more interesting but it got much less views, thanks for reacting to both videos) I didn't even expect that exactly this video would got so many views, it isn't something really special. Here mostly songs from BIG5 countries and host entries, just because they are already in the final, so they don't get their hate in the semi final performance before, they get all it in the final) If you didn't notice it, percentages of dislikes on the semi final performances is much less than on the finals, final performances doesn't receive that much hate (except the winners and some special cases like Serhat) Viewers of the Grand Final are much more positive.

The only reason most of these videos have that many dislikes is because of petty children who dislike a video for a country they don't like or because they want it to get a bad rep so their country looks better.

I agree with most of your points! I think some things you were a bit too harsh on, For example: 2015 had a lot of dreary ballads, but it also had: - Mans - Polina - Il Volo - Loic - Guy etc (low key though Playing With Numbers didn't qual which is a crime) 2014 Russia wasn't that bad, 2014 was just a good year comparatively Things I didn't like that you liked tho: - Ben Ingrosso (it's the airy voice, everything else is fine) - Twin Twin were fun (but the staging was puke on puke) Also the end of the video was a little glitchy, did it just record weirdly or can you still salvage it?

It would be interesting to see a list of performers who ruined a good (Grand Final) song by doing badly on stage.

I'm so glad I'm not alone supporting Croatia and Georgia 2016. Maybe Croatia was a bit of a let-down because of the staging and dress but their song and Georgia's were amazing. I can see a lot of songs from Armenia and Azerbaijan on the list, could that be because they hate each other politically?? Cause some of them are really strong performances. Spain has also come up a lot on this list and, although it is my own country, I gotta say it couldn't have been more DESERVED.

I'm not gonna lie, i think you have a good voice! Alesia for the UK 2021 or 2022! :D

We need a "y'all are haters" counter. :: laugh :: I'm glad someone agrees with me about 2015. There were so many slow ballads and low-tempo songs to the point where my viewing party thought _the UK_ that year was a breath of fresh air. Yeah, it boggles my mind too.

I understad why the video is mirrored, but can be hard to follow what the songs are. If you do not want to edit in text, could you perhaps just mention the country and year before commenting on it? It would make it easier follow along. In all I feel alot of dislikes is more about people feeling annoyed by some aspect ( polish décolletage or swedish try-harding) of the song, rather then it being bad. Bit sad.

Yes, it was a bad attempt at creating a catchy tune. Maybe she would have sung better if she didn't dance do it. And her outfit is also a reason for disliking this performance. But I think that a huge portion of it is due to the fact that she praised Dictator Lukachachenko (sorry if I got his name wrong, but I'm not willing to Google a Dictator's name) and criticized (no, that's put too mildly, I'd rather say, slammed) their opposition leader.

Quite the list of entries to be sure. Speaking as a Brit, I am surprised there aren't more UK entries there. In my opinion, there's only about 5 or 6 of my countries' entries this century have any business being in the Final. Big 5 status is a curse if your broadcaster doesn't have a burning desire to win. I agree about 2015, lots of quality, but a lot of message songs too. Armenia and Azerbaijan trading insults over the dislike button, the Annexation probably coming into play or the "it's too political" brigade. I'm pretty sure the BBC wishes Australia won in 2016 given the whining some talking heads did on breakfast news the morning after and how they basically erased it from history at You Decide 2017 so there may be a lot of "Wish something more usual/less controversial had won" or even "it's not Eurovision" might explain 1944's numbers.... Oh and Israel 2018 may have a great message, but I cannot stand the chicken thing, ruins the song for me, pulls me right out of the mood she's trying to invoke. Everything else is great, shame to have a song spoiled by something so minor.

No Estonian songs here, nice. But i can see why, we are not in the final so often :D And when we are, then usually the song is quite good like Kuula, Rändajad, Goodbye To Yesterday, La Forza

N-M 2019.. before the live shows, that song was not that popular. It was until the live shows it got allot of love. Kinda like what happend with Fuego. Roi was another one that really elevated for me during the finals, same with Ukraine 2016. Austria 2014 is stil overrated to me. Anyway 2015 was a pretty forgettable year for me.. Not shocked many songs of that year seem in the list. It was really bad.

I really wanted Greece to win in 2012 , now that I'm older and know better I can see why it didn't make the top 10, nevertheless it's still one of my faves from 2012, Norway didn't deserve to finish last in 2012 I feel like there were worse and more forgettable songs that should have finished last instead.

Tbh, most of Manel Navarro's dislikes are from Spain itself. We all hated this performance and the song. You should have seen Twitter when we saw the voice crack he had, we were all celebrating and having so much fun, so many memes around it. We were even more glad when we saw the last position. So personally, I totally agree with his 1st position on this top lmao

I think politics plays a lot into why there are so many dislikes and perhaps homophobia. Armenia and Azerbaijan had a war. Anti Semitic votes for Israel, homophobia for Conchita votes?

It's funny that a song called "We Got Love" got so much hate. It wasn't so much the song that was hated but Jessica's vocals, outfit and staging since the song was #3 in the odds prior to her rehearsals. Surprised UK 2019 wasn't included. That was an unmitigated disaster. Sorry Sahlene.

Yes, she should have worn something better, something less slutty. If that's even a proper term. I don't wanna insult sex workers, but clothing that doesn't cover anything. And the dancing, the staging. Nope. The song itself wasn't even that bad and I prefer it over their 2017 entry.

Maybe I was a hater, but for me Portugal 2017 was my second to last place of the year :( And The bottom 5 of all the winners :p But I can see why it won... I just hate Jazz so that's maybe my reason :/

Portugal 2017 (Salvador Sobral) it's not being a "hater" Alesia. I found it really boring, I didn't get the hype for it at all. OK, as a sweet entry a top 10 place would be ok, but not winning.

its fine not to like. I dont enjoy must popish winners. But one thing is not like, another is unable to see the quality and just trash it. I dont like must popish fireworks songs, but Arcade was a song i didnt like, but i can see the quality in.

Im issue with Netta, is shallow is the lyrics and suddently acclaim is girl power. The staging for me in the end was very messy. There was too much going on. It was the lights, music, her screaming, the fireworks the dancers. Was the worst final performance? no! it was decent! Jamala is another aside from the political (but anyway most songs are always political) doesnt deserve to be there. Sometimes people ranks are just about their own personal taste and cannot see if the performance is good or not. San Marino 2019 was a decent song, but comparing the performance with others... it was bad.

Armenia 2016 was probably heavily disliked because of the singer breaking the rule against showing political flags. Love your videos, as always❤️

A lot of Armenian entries end up disliked because... Well because they're Armenian and that's somehow offensive to some. You know how Armenia and geopolitics go, so small wonder pretty much all their songs get hate.

If an country like Russia, Armenia or Ukraine getting alot of dislikes is probably because of political reasons. Also if winners get alot of salty people disliking.

Iveta has to be purely because some countries dislike Armenia. I refuse to accept that that's anything other than a brilliant perfect flawless performance. I think politics is playing a part in a couple of other entries being on this list, especially all the Armenian and Azerbaijani ones. As for Belarus 2013, if I'm not mistaken she recently made some sort of statement in support of the Belorussian dictator, which understandably got backlash.

Greece 2012 is hated because its a blatant copy of My Number One.
