That was indeed funny. As a hetero male, I wasn't bothered by your obvious glee---a little vicarious patriarchy revenge fulfillment seems perfectly reasonable to me given, you know, history, and the present and what not.

Honestly, the best way to watch Taeyeon is just watch her concert DVDs. You get all the concepts, all the hits and hidden B-sides. Like Baramx3.

In Something New, I (and some fans) interpreted some scenes that represents how "TOXIC" being an idol sometimes. 1st scene: She have to wave and smile, walk with chin up even though she doesn't feel like it. Scenes with phone camera: She have to always look pretty on social media. Food cart scene: The TOXICITY of controlling diet to maintain their weight. Idols cannot eat what they are craving for because of it. (which can be so sickening sometimes). And in the final scenes where she shot the baggage full of money: She's done of all the people saying "Idols become idols just because of the Money". She indeed want "SOMETHING NEW"

You are *such* a mood in I Got Love 😂

This combination of 3 songs is a perfect example of how versatile of an artist Taeyeon is! I Got Love was not the cup of tea of the Korean general public, really a different sound from what she is known for. Something New was also a new sound (and the MV's literally something new for her) in some ways, but she pulled it off wonderfully! Four Seasons.. the single that gave her her first Daesang (grand award) which is still doing very well in the charts after more than a year of release. Taeyeon is NOT afraid to try diff genres and getting 'out of the box' idol singers are usually put in. She is an ARTIST. Hope you can also listen to her b-sides, appreciate if you can listen to her latest full-length album Purpose - Repackage. There's a lot of songs that will surprise you. That's how wide the range of her discography is. One in a million!

You should react to her live performances like "Better Babe", "Love you like Crazy", "Gravity", "UR" and maybe "Devil's Cry". BTW, I love your reactions on this episode, totally me the first time reacting this MV's

Taeyeon always tries and is never afraid of different concepts .. Other soloists only play in their safe zone and don't dare to try other genres / concepts .. That's why Taeyeon is called "King, Trust & Listen, Number One Vocalist of idols".. anyway I appreciate you like I got Love & Something new because for some people the genre feels strange and unfamiliar .. I definitely suggest lives for all 3 of these. ‘S concert for “I got love” & “Something New” and Begin Again performance for “Four Seasons” from when she was busking in Berlin. Although the latter is not for reaction on YT due to strict copyright. If you want to do a reaction ‘S concert is fine too. Also her 2 full albums are really worth checking out. My Voice Deluxe has 17 songs (including cd only track) and Purpose repackage has 15. Some of her best music is there including 2 of the tracks you’ve checked today.

She won a Digital Daesang yes. Winning a Daesang is the biggest achievement in an award ceremony and that was her first one as a solo artist (Girls' Generation have won daesangs before). She was surprised because she thought there were other artists present that she thought deserved it more, perhaps because as a senior artist who had won that award before with her group, she expected it to be given to her juniors instead.

If you loved "I Got Love" vibes, you really need to listen to some of her album only stuff. Her 'Purpose' album had a lot of the same vibes and experimentation that "I Got Love" did, and I assumed is why you loved the song. Reactions not needed, but you really need to check out her songs "LOL" and "Here I Am" from that album, I think you will see that they give that experimental production value you loved.

Watching you crushing on women and appreciating talent is a time well spent. ^^ I was speechless at first experiencing I Got Love too! The only word that's reasonable to say is 'Wow' ... These 3 MVs were perfect choices. I really hope you'll continue this journey, Taeyeon is a talented legend with neverending charms and wonderful songs.

Although I don't know whether you will read this comment or not, here is one of interpretation of 'Something New' MV in Korea Black and White scenes = her lonely inner side, her imagination. colored scenes = reality as celebrity Many people exist in first red carpet scenes (colored reality), but nobody exists in the black and white scene. It shows her inner loneliness carrier = her career, issue, and gossip as celebrity (+ especially malicious, hate comment) women who serves food = keyboard warrior, troll First she pretends to be a fan (showing some sweet desserts) and she suddenly attacks taeyeon (trolling), and when taeyeon counterattacks, troll's face looks like 'I can't believe. HOW DARE YOU!!' It shows typical feature of troll (The sad fact is that fighting scenes are black and white It means taeyeon can't confront hate comment in reality because of public opinion that celebrities must endure that things) Whenever taeyeon fight in MV, she gets more carrier (=gossip) Throwing away and shooting carrier means her wish to be free from many gossips and trolls (Many bills in the carrier means irony that gossip makes money to her) This is just one of interpretation. but it is obvious that this is not mere action movie style MV. I think it has too many symbols and meanings I want to say something more about this, but I can't because of my bad English :( Sorry for my bad English (I'm Korean!), and thanks for reacting Girls' Generation and Taeyeon!

I really like that you don't "chew the scenery" in your reactions. I'm not a complete Taeyeon aficionado yet ( I'm still 'processing' SNSD!) but "Rain" is gorgeous and "Up & Down" is crazy fun and cool. Fobe Romero mentions "Devil's Cry" BUT I WOULD ADD that you should watch THIS SPECIFIC version: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qp2YzbCwpdveodo.html because she goes from an insanely powerful vocal tour-de-force to the totally bad-ass "Run Devil Run" within about 20 seconds as if it was the opening number of the concert instead of having already been singing and dancing on the stage for an hour. I also recommend Taeyeon & Tiffany's 'Lady Marmalade' for another example of a) live performance chops, b) musical range and c) her ability to have so much fun performing while coincidentally being brilliant ( Tiffany, though not as 'pure' a vocalist as Taeyeon is her equal in this performance).
