My favorite part is Austin looking at Chance like he's both shocked and proud. He wrote the perfect pirate game song. Love these guys! Thanks for the reactions to them.

Tim commented during a Sweet & low performance that you could tell they were still a new group because they were all still impressed with each other. Evidently it doesn't matter how long you have ben a group, you can still be impressed.

Glad we are getting a double feature! Chance wrote this song for the game "Skull & Bones". I do think they were asked to write this because of "The Sea Shanty Medley". I really like seeing this live version as it shows who is doing what parts. Tim & Chance are doing the really low notes in the beginning. Chance has his guitar & Austin is playing a mandolin. Adam is holding down the percussion sounds. And Austin & Rob are adding a fuller sound with their harmonies. Wish the live was the longer version of the song. These guys are so supportive of each other's talents & projects.

Hi, Dave! I just want to sincerely thank you for your wonderful reactions to Home Free. You're one of my favorites reactors, and I really appreciate your astute comments and enthusiasm! Are you aware that Home Free just released a live concert version of The Sea Shanty Medley? Much fun!

They did this live in Berlin and Tim gave kudos to Chance for writing this and for him bringing Sea Shanty to Home Free!

Even after all the times I've heard this, it still impresses me. Chance did such a great job on the writing and the guys hit it out of the park. The intro is actually 3 voices - Chance singing bass, Tim singing super bass and Adam going into the basement to produce the underlying drone. They just this week started doing this in their live shows and there's at least one video of it out there.

Rob and Austin are mostly singing in unison on the chorus, but it’s Rob’s opera voice I hear in the live version. I’m pretty sure they had backing track for the Ubisoft conference performance, which is fine, and would probably be up to Ubisoft. They just added this their set list starting with the Olso concert this week. Chance plays guitar throughout but no mandolin. Adam loops the kick drum so he can do the droning and the rest of the percussion. Tim have a bit of background. Search for ‘Home Free Skull and Bones first time live Olso’ and you should get the one from ManLikeMusic. David’s version from Malmo is a better recording but it’s just the song.

Yes Tim said at the concert in Stockholm that they had backingtracks in the liveversion because Ubisoft thought they wouldn't manage to do it live 😂

Since Rob and Austin blew up Nessun Dorma one of my friends has been calling Rob "Opera Rob" and "Opera Bro" (and eventually got me saying it too) and I'm so glad we're not the only ones. And we're both classically trained singers so it's absolutely a compliment.

Chance wrote this and does the lead vocals. He created a "treasure".

Fun Fact: Pirates flew two flags, one blood red, the other being the "skull and bones". The red flag symbolized the pirates giving their target a chance to peacefully surrender, but when the skull and bones (AKA Jolly Roger) was flown, no quarter was to be given.

Totally Epic!!!. It is just plain fun to review and realize their gifts and talents are over the top extraordinary. This group can simply stand tall amongst the industry vocalist peers (groups and gifted vocalists). They bring about an excitement intrigue wondering what they will produce for us today, near future and the years to come. They are not bound by a particular genre and whatever they produce you know it is going to be quality. Home Free produces at a high level of integrity and always amazing the interpretation both vocally and visually with their video presentation. Every individual in their vocal group is significant top-notch performer and each draws out the very best in each other. I always look with anticipation to their next release. So good to see you checking out some Home Free, again. Doing these together you get to appreciate the differences. Love how pumped Chance is during the Live. He always comes across as pretty laid back, mellow. Here, he stomps up to the mic and gives his all. The power of the five voices, in the Live, is worth noting. Rob's robust operatic richness is very evident. The audio quality for the Live isn't the best and quite low. Yes, you'd expect the applause to be louder and more enthusiastic. Now we're all waiting on the guys' official video for this. Heard rumblings it might be out this fall. The guys donned pirate-y garb for the thumbnail so perhaps we'll see them similarly attired in the video.

What a fantastic song this is written by Chance I see images of the old days where the pirates all sang together on their ship. So incredible performance. This is so very cool! A totally different sound but again so great. I would like Chance to write more often for Home Free. Home Free can just sing anything. Chance with his perfect low voice for this, Tim Foust's lower voice that goes so well with Chance's. Adam Rupp who also contributes to the bass, but also shows the undisputed beatboxer / vocal percussionist / vocal artist. Austin Brown who also plays a musical part but then gets into it vocally with his powerful voice. And then Rob Lundquist who clearly shows his rich opera voice here. And then that harmony that sounds so incredibly good

Your comment about dragons reminded me about an "alternate history" book series set in early 1800's that had dragon "airforces" (countries each had their own) with some rather interesting descriptions of dragon vs ship (and dragon) battles. Its the Temeraire series by Naomi Novik

You can hear Rob if you listen hard to it, he's right under Austin and holds it all together evenly.

Actually you can hear Rob the most in my opinion. In the recorded version you can hear that they pulled back Tim's bass, especially in the beginning, so you could actually hear Chance sing the lead. I also think Rob sounds louder live. I notice that they often pull back Rob's vocals because I think his voice projects the most out of all of them, in his lower register especially. I think it's because of his opera training. But I agree with you. I think they need less processing. This song in particular, sounds so much better live, imo. And I don't think I'm the only one that thinks so.

A lot of the people in this crowd may not have known about Home Free before. I'm pretty sure they picked up some new fans from this live premier for Ubisoft.

Someone has probably already said this but the reason you don't "hear" Rob as much is because he's singing in a much lower register than he usually does, more like a baritone than tenor. To see similar, watch "Nessun Dorma" by Rob and Austin.
