In US this can put a wedge to mainstream. She did the whole song by herself and told that "it's not pop, it's not rock it's ME!" and that she heards like..

Wellwell, our Floor goes to pop, but this time well crafted power pop made by herself. Nice piano theme with some cellos, which I always like. And then the majestic build up in the end. And the video is made in Finland with all Finnish crew. ⛄👍

Really beautiful song. Floor said something like, “it’s not metal, it’s not pop, it’s ME.” And that’s a lot of what I pick up from this song…it feels very genuine, and that really helps the listener become invested, as well. I had a couple of people who don’t like Nightwish listen to this and they both LOVED it.

It has Floor's positive outlook and personality written ALL over it!

4:01 that piano is so powerful! 🎹 Great video concepts - The burning of the armchair that she / we all - sat in for so many hours throughout the lockdowns of the last 2 years. Burn “the box” that people try to put her into. The box / limits we all put on ourselves or that other people try to put us into. In the car, we are the “driver” behind the wheel of our own lives The contrast between fire & ice. Amazing instrumentation presented with Floor’s passion & talented vocals. You will continue to watch and listen to this on repeat 🔂 😊

Myself and the Nightwish army platoon are all well aware of this fine ladies immense talent as a vocalist. Her various covers of songs outside of Nightwish have done nothing to detract from that. This offering I hope brings her to the radio stations attention here in the U.K…it won’t be before time. Me…I love it. Not sure if the neighbours like it 🤣🤣🤣. Sabina..as per the ABBA song..thank you for the music.

I agree the radio here in the UK, while better than the US, is still somewhat unadventurous. Now we have lost the likes of John Peel we rarely get much that's out of the ordinary. Floor, it goes without saying, deserves much wider success and perhaps a solo album would bring that. BUT, please keep singing with Nightwish , Floor. I thought that hat really suited her...

@@NickBR57 You make some excellent points. The state of the U.K. musical scene was such that I looked more into what was happening in Europe. I knew some decent rock and metal bands existed. But I didn’t realise the overall strength in depth of European music. You referenced John Peel…a champion of the up and coming bands. We have Jools Holland, who gives exposure to some homegrown talent we may not know about due to the crap radio stations play lists. Just imagine if Jools invited Floor onto his show…now that could be something.

Hi Sabina, The Queen delivers Fire! We didn't know how she would sing, but this is magical. The red jacket with shoulder pads. Floor ramping it up again. Quiet section, the silhouettes, very Bond movie style, so empowering. Loved your Tampere concert with Henri.

Love your reaction and analysis. This song is about coming out of the pandemic and us as individuals and humanity as a whole living our lives again. Our lives should be on fire with passion! For me this song is classic Floor. Floor being Floor. I get echoes of her cover of Euphoria. Also checkout stuff she wrote for her earlier bands or her arrangements for her covers. This song has a similar feel to her songs Energize me from After Forever and Oblivion form her YT channel.

Liked your reaction Sabina. Fire is not typical for the new album according to Floor and it is still work in progrez. She found two (for me) new names to work with and cowrite/produce - Gordon Groothedde and Wouter Hardy. I expected the name of Joost van den Broek, her old bandmate from After Forever and the man who played the grandpiano on the Aryon track you just did. They didn't stop working together but it didn't fit with the 'flow' the album is taking so it needs some new attention. The good news is always that Nightwish is still going strong with ambition so that comes first. No idea how it will devellop with the album. There is so much to come...???

Wow! The Queen delivers: Fire! There's the proof, she can control the lightning! Statuesque, ten feet tall, according to the camera position in the woods!

I hope that she has a full album as well. I thought that Sharon den Adel had a great solo project as well with her My Indigo project but for some reason she didn't tour for that project and never followed up with another solo project since.

This performance seems to combine both old and new. It is old school in terms of no decriable modification of the vocal and all acoustical instruments. New in the scene of modern day sound production. It is I would say the start of a 21st century genre.

I enjoyed the video and the song. And floors voice always shines. I don't think the song itself is a hit, but that would be unfair expectations. There is nothing bad about the song, but it is missing a memorable something. Does anyone else get Eurovision vibes? Like this is the kind of song that would win the national contest, and climb high in the international contest, but not win?

Yep. It's definitely Floor. Kind of like Nightwish is not Symphonic Metal. It is Nightwish. Human language can't define either genres yet.
