The song is about a japanese singer who was loved in China, but after Japan invaded China in the 1930's it was discovered that she was Japanese and she had to flee the country she loved - I can't remember if she was ever able to return after the war.

This song is based on a true story of an actress who became very famous in China during the war but was banished from China when it was discovered that she was of Japanese descent. There is also a Japanese version of this song entitled Ikanaide which was written & originally performed by Koji Tamaki & can be found on YT. So the faces of the audience are showing their emotions, something that Dimash's heartfelt performances does to the listeners. I don't know his name, but the guy with the mane is in a group called Lion Band. Dimash was worried the audience wouldn't understand him on his first time singing in Chinese, but you can see how amazed they were. He wound up winning the Chinese version of a grammy for Best Foreign Singer with this song.

I'm glad you two found Dimash. I found him 4 years ago at the start of the pandemic. His musical ability got me through a couple of tough years with little personal contact due to the VIRUS.
