Now, here's an ominous thought to stew on...; the events of the Marvel vs DC comic crossover are technically canon in BOTH universes...in that story, we actually saw Thanos meet Darkseid(with the latter calling the former '...a pale imitation of me')...this Thanos clearly didn't recognize him, which, by the aforementioned crossover and DB's own rules, can only mean that Darkseid deliberately went hunting for 'a' Thanos to test himself against, knowing full well the Gauntlet would not work outside of it's home universe, nor kill his true form...in other words, HE KNEW he would win the fight and played this Thanos like a fiddle....

It's funny how people I see start out with these reaction videos like, Thanos is the one I know about, followed by seeing him on screen. I guess people seeing this battle is a rude awakening. 😏

Mystic Wryyy I did not know that all of darkseid’s appearances were mere hosts. That said, this fight wouldn’t have gone on so long in hand to hand combat. Thanos isn’t one to go looking for a fight. Darkseid would have only been a step in the way of an actual goal. The snap would’ve happened much earlier, as well as the revelation that he’s only fighting hosts. This would’ve been addressed differently. So long as darkseid doesn’t get in the way of his plans, he wouldn’t care to follow him into a portal. If anything he’d send a clone to find more out. That said... I’ll have to eat crow with my DC friends and admit not only was this fight awesome, darkseid looked absolutely badass the whole time so I will counter with one below the belt win. Darkseid is ours. It was a writer for marvel that made him and the new gods while on a temporary hiatus in DC comics before coming back over again. Bang.

@Denzell Lewis I dunno, Thanos has a pretty fragile ego. He's done stupid things when baited by insults and the like so I can see him continuing the fight out a desperate need to show he's stronger. And I can certainly see Darkseid being able to bait him into Fourth World; when it comes to manipulation Thanos plays a good game but Darkseid is a chess grandmaster. As to Darkseid's creation he was made by Jack Kirby who cheerfully popped back and forth between both companies for decades. He was never exclusively a Marvel or DC writer. Also Black ReaperKai is sort of right; While Thanos was his own creation he was inspired by the New Gods and was made to look like Darkseid after his original design looked more like Metron (the chair, y'see).

GriffinPilgrim he’s fragile with ego when it comes to impressing death, who wasn’t present. He’s more curious than brute like. A chance encounter with darkseid would likely cause him to flee after realizing his best moves only inconvenience darkseid. He’d have used the gauntlet to pause in place one of darkseids avatars while bending reality to auto reject any new manifestations from forming and take one avatar back to study. He’s more than capable of this with the gauntlet. Playing with the soul and mind would have led him to understand that this thing is far beyond his reality and that he needs much, much more power to win. He’d either place a Thanosi in place and unpause darkseid to let his own pawn be lured into 4th world or leave darkseid paused, grab the HOTU and consume then delete true darkseid. This was not done true to form. Thanos is not ever looking to fight someone for the hell of it, and in hand to hand would have been obliterated by darkseid because he’s simply too slow. That would have lead him to freeze or severely age darkseid into being immobile or super slow well in the beginning before planets are thrown. He’d have then went on to get his chair back and continue whatever his quest was, with the inclusion of figuring out what the hell darkseid is. If death were present, yes, he’d have been ruthless and have been killed, but his mind is far beyond that of Batman. He’s not going to walk into a place against a being that has made one of the most powerful items in the universe look like a silly toy.

@Denzell Lewis Oh, don't get me wrong, I think it would have taken more than the "come and have a go if you think you're hard enough" ploy that Darkseid used in the video but hell, they've got limited time to work with, every second on screen is another addition to the animator's fee. I just think Thanos isn't up to outsmarting Darkseid if Darkseid is manipulating him. Thanos is no brute but he can be impulsive and, while yes, he doesn't fight for the hell of it, he does have a near-pathological need o asert his superirity. Whereas Darkseid is one of the most patient and calm villains in comics. He doesn't neec to prove he's the most powerful guy in the room, he already knows that. The HOTU isn't canon so we can rule that out. Pausing Darkseid's avatar would be wasted effort, as True Darkseid wouldn't be affected. I also highly doubt whether a clone would fool Darkseid (18 divine senses and all). The Gauntlet also can't stop him creating or summoning new avatars, since that's all coming from either Fourth World or the DC Universe, neither of which can be affected by it. As soon as they enter 616 they can be affected but he can't stop the Boom Tubes opening. Also worth noting here is that Darkseid has an advantage besides being more powerful; he knows (roughly at least) what the Infinity Gauntlet is and what it can do and that it doesn't function in other universes. During the JLA/Avengers event he got the Gauntlet and determined that. And that crossover is confirmed canon to both universes so Darkseid gets that knowledge going in. All that said Thanos might very well have pulled back and tried to plan a way out if this was an actual comics story. But this is Death Battle; one battle, no retreating or preparation allowed. For the same reason Batman can't go make some insecticide before facing Spiderman.

The Council of Ricks from Rick and Morty is a bit of a reference to the Council of Reed's from Marvel.

Yea....and Batman didn't so much dodge as put a parademon in the path of the beams. So about the true Darkseid thing to put it simply think of it this way the Darkseid we always see is something like a MMO game character or a puppet it's a proxy and Darkseid himself is an incorporeal being that resides in a dimension that's higher than ours. His actual self coming here would burn all existance.

When I first saw this, the moment I saw Darkseid block the first punch with his freakin' *forehead*, I knew he was gonna win. ... The insane list of feats helped, granted, but still.

The True Darkseid is essentially the Sigma Virus but far more overpowered. You can kill his bodies but to destroy him completely is to destroy the main source. Great reaction has always bro. I also did a reaction to this battle and would be cool if you checked it out

Thanos was created as a copy of Darkseid

The Infinity Gauntlet was Thanos's handicap and even with that it wasn't enough to stand up to the power of Darkseid.

dude, it's not mcu references. All this shit was cannon before the Marvel names. Marvel is referencing DC.

I sometimes wonder if DC fans know more about Marvel than Marvel fans know about DC. Besides all the movies being made recently, I still hear "Superman is generic" like they don't know the character is the archetype of modern day comic *super* heroes (super as in meta) and that more of Marvel's characters were copied/inspired from DC. Most of DC's heroes were from the golden age which of course had Superman, Batman and WonderWoman.

I bet Unicron vs Galactus I’m pretty sure has a clear winner when you start actually looking into their powers (if they don’t look at the G1 version as the primary version...)

Well, it was canon but just not comics canon. It was the DCAU, in which Darkseid was a lot weaker. Plus he didn't dodge so much as throw a parademon in the way.

Its funny cause you say every character you wanted to win in the season finale lost, it is the opposite for me, where as everyone who i wanted to win, did (except Deadpool Vs Pinkie Pie, because i didn't care about that one at all). But the funny thing is, In all the season premiere battles all the character who i wanted to win, lost or i didn't care (Except Boba Fett vs Samus Arin, but that's season one and we don't talk about season 1 much). I only really cared about two of them that lost: He-Man vs Lion-o, and Dante vs Bayonetta. The other 2 (Lara Croft vs Nathan Drake, and Black Panther vs Batman) I didn't care who won. So in the next season premier I predict either the character I want to win will lose or I won't care.

And u know that boku possess energy power than superman can absurb that guy is literally no limit at all and if u turn the fight it's still gonna be the same winner and that is superman xD boy yes I know goku is strong I love him but a guy like superman that can survive anything and can absorb energy on the sun and can lift the world and survive a fucking god level attacks he still standing like nothing happened xD. There's no way goku can win that shit so I'll say I was mad as well with that fight but the analysis of Death battle isn't actually wrong. U matching a guy that have a limit with his powers vs the alien god that can survive any powerful attcks and a guy that no limit to his power at all.
