The thing is, you can taste every second of the 12 hours of cooking. The misconception is we eat this way everyday. Maybe once a month.

Chicken wings became popular first in Buffalo, NY. The owners of The Anchor Bat fried them, tossed them in a sauce made from Frank’s Red Hot and butter, and served them the blue cheese dressing. A lot of bbq joints in the US have taken to smoking wings, a different but really good way to enjoy them.

Clarification, Buffalo wings first became popular in NY. Chicken wings were always popular in the South and in the countryside areas.

Mert, the light colored beans are black eyed peas. Typically they're cooked with smoked hamhocks, for hours, with onions and garlic. Coming from Southern stock, I've always had black eyed peas, hamhocks, rice and cornbread on New Years, traditionally for good luck. It's yum!

12:36 A decent number of Americans cook like this at home. Most people I know have a smoker or 2. I have a few one is the size of a shed. It is used to smoke hundreds of salmon at one time.

Dude… When you come to Alberta to watch the Oilers and the flames, there is a roadside barbeque house just south of Calgary near Okotoks … Outstanding southern atmosphere, and the food is second to none!… One more reason to make Alberta your first spot to visit in Canada!!!

There are BBQ championships all over the US. And chili cookoffs. Many state fairs will hand out awards for the best pies, fried chicken, Dutch Babies . . . You probably didn't know we are cannibalistic in the US. LOL!! That amount of BBQ will be very expensive.

The flats I feel like are easier to get all the meat off of, but I still like the drumsticks more because the meat is truly just more accessible. Don’t have to do the umbrella technique on a wing 😅

They paid a boatload of money for all that (unless it was comped by the restaurant). That’s not a meal people would buy regularly. You don’t just sit there and order one thing after another after another. That’s not what normal people eat in one visit, that what someone might’ve eaten in the 5 trips they’ve made in the past year. You don’t go do this once or twice a week, it’s maybe once every 6 or 8 weeks. I’m a bbq lover smack in the middle of Texas and I probably get barbecue 5 or 6 times a year. When I go do bbq, I buy far less - typically a 1/2 pound of brisket and a sausage link, say. No sides. Soft drink with that. Easily $20 - $25 for that much meat and drink. They must’ve spent over $200 for the three I’d think.

Baked beans taste better than beans in tomato sauce. Baked beans are made with molasses and most of the time, have meat, i.e. pork, bacon, or sometimes beef, i.e. minced hamburger, mixed in along with brown sugar and onions and sometimes, we Americans put bits of green pepper in our baked beans as well. To make them into barbecue beans, we add premade barbecue sauce, if lazy at times. or make it from scratch, along with brisket if we so desire.

My favorite is Brisket...love it ....I have family all over the USA. I love BBQ Smoked meat. Yes they have huge BBQ competitions. They are serious. Yes it's the sauce that makes different wings...not a wing person 😢 forgot you need beans and dirty rice when eating BBQ meals love fried okra. Only fried okra...

To get brisket that tender, you have to use low heat, and many hours. As the saying goes, "Low and Slow". And no we can't eat like everyday. This would be more like once a month thing to do. Don't be afraid of flavor.

Check out Jolly's latest offerings as well as Mr. H. and Friends, you'll see there's a few eateries out there that you can go and do a taste test yourself. I know of Prairie Fyre in London, and there's Spitfire (Mr. H has a video on it) - two off the top of my head that I've seen that seem legit. Check it out and post a vid about it!

You wouldn’t normally get all the types of sides and meats like they do in these videos. So you could have something like this (but only one meal and not 4 or however many they are eating here) every couple of weeks. But if it’s expensive like people have said in the comments then maybe once a month or on special occasions.
