The Packers have built a good team. Knowing the McCaskeys, the Bears will make money, but never be a top level team. As long as Little Georgie can employ his cousins, all is well.

They preached Discipline, and we're penalized a lot. They preach tackling, they gave up multiple 3rd & Longs. They got DJ Moore, barely a part of the scheme. Kmet gets an extension, he gets garbage time. I didn't see Zach Pickens who showed the most ability rushing the passer, didn't even play. It's been reserved excitement from me this entire off season/pre-season. Calling screens against Zone defense. Just so poorly coached. Like really really bad.

Packers fan, but I thought it was weird when they were talking about the Bears defense and the talk of building in the secondary first. I've never heard of a defense being built from anything but the lines.

I've heard nothing from 670 the Score except that Justin Fields is "a generational talent" and a "great QB" and "the best player in the division." LOL. How do you guys have a job? Can you fire Dan Bernstein already? Incompetents like Bernstein shouldn't have a job. As for the Bears, Justin Fields cannot pass the ball downfield. Therefore, he cannot be a winner in the NFL. You have to be able to pass the ball downfield to win in the NFL. My question: how many years will the Bears continue to run Fields out there?

I think the most insane part about this all, and this mostly applies to twitter, but all offseason, bears fans were bragging about the money they spent in free agency. But when the time came, they signed two linebackers and a guard, who is barely an upgrade. When it all went down, Packers fans on twitter were asking, where does it help your pass rush? Where does it help your pass pro? Answer: it doesn't. The bears spent 75 million dollars on things that barely move the needle, and the fans were celebrating like a bunch of dumb monkeys.

The OC's weak 3rd and short playcall on the first drive, and the stupid 4th down QB rush that failed, set the tone for uninspired play for the rest of the game. Why call a gimmick play with the TE under center instead of trusting your OL and your power RB (Foreman) to pickup 1 or two yards? That's what they do. Rushing under center has NEVER been what our TE has done. Stupid, cowardly playing calling on that drive gave them a short field and set the tone for the game. That was soft. Trust your physical players and stop the finesse play calling when you need to be physical.

Down 10 with one minute left in the 3rd quarter, you had the Packers in a 3rd and long. You make a stop there and it's a different ballgame. You had chances.

Every year, the Bears fans get lured into thinking it’s gonna be a good year, or we are rebuilding. And every year we are disappointed. I’ve been watching this team for the last 60 years and I wonder why I keep watching them. The media through the Bears Management is always providing hope for the future. However, the real fact is that it’s all media BS to fill the stadium.

If you're actually surprised they looked this bad, you're not a Bears fan. What a joke.

I've been a Bears fan for about 42 years. I think that shows some pretty solid loyalty. I'm debating keeping that loyalty. The loyalty is simply not returned. Same crap, different day, year, season, head coach, GM. It's not JUST about the loss (though yes, it coming against a team that has owned the Bears for a solid 25+ years makes it worse), it's HOW they lost that's a big part of this. They not only didn't look better, they looked WORSE. I actually buy that the talent level is higher than it was 2 years ago, so...for now...Poles gets a pass (though I agree with folks who point out that the lines needed to be an even higher priority). But the coaches seats (HC, OC, DC) should be feeling very, very warm right now. NO MORE EXCUSES!

90% coaching failure. 10% player issue from turnovers and penalties. Defensive line looked tired from early on. Secondary does NOT know how to play zone. Offense needs to actually practice. Poles needs to finally break down and hire an offense coordinator. Once that person is on staff Poles needs to give them a mandatory practice schedule that includes actual play calling and tackling. Before today the team was a stretch to get to 500 this year. With the game showing minimal actual preparation they hare going to need about a month to catch up to the league. ALL STARTERS SHOULD OF BEEN PULLED IN THE 4TH QUARTER. Coach should of realized the team was NOT prepared and the risk to injury is not worth it. When head coaches seek player approval the regime suffers and ownership is let down. Player practice like their jobs depend on it is what is needed.

We pretty much traded the Golden 1st Pick in the Draft for a WR who was targetted just twice, this is insane and not getting Jalen Carter at 9 blew my mind when we need to pressure the QB.. The Claypool trade was also crazy, a 1st Round pick given to the Steelers and dont say it was 2nd Rd pick...it was a 1st ..Poles needs to go

Justin played bad sure. But my god that play calling and offensive line was absolutely terrible. Getsy was looking like Nagy or even worse than Nagy. Ridiculous. What like 20 screens/ bubble RPO check downs?! We threw it deep like 2 times past 20 yards. That’s playing scared football. Terrible.

On one hand, 1985 was almost 40 years ago. What’s one more season “developing” a team? … The sad part was with 3 mins left in the game, the offense was not running hurry-up and still huddling. They looked almost casual. No urgency. Greg Olsen also noticed this while calling the game. Love Johnson-we need more guys like that.

It's time for all Bear fans to deal with the reality as long as the McCaskey family owns the team things will never change !

I think it’s reasonable to assume there are glaring defeciences in both schemes on offense and defense. Fleus entire defense is predicated on pressure from the front 4, they clearly don’t have the personnel to operate the defense yet they trot it out there with no adjustments.

I'm staying calm week 1. The chiefs lost to the lions, the cowboys blew the giants out 40 to 0, a lot of games were wild and there were tons of errors and weirdness. I'll be more judgemental week 2 or 3.

@@rcguy902 The GB REFS once again was the 12th player for the Packers, sickening as usual. The Bears coaching staff though is horrible and also allowed Love to own the Bears.

You leave out first year starters, QBs, GMs, coaches typically end up in the forgotten bucket after having the fewest wins in the NFL at least an 80-90% rate. Given this and last year I predict all 3 will be gone and largely forgotten in 2-3 years. There is a reason smart players and management keep grinding till the last game, you do not statistically do yourself a favor having the fewest wins. Many a tear it down so we can build it up project fails and those doing it do no one a favor, themselves or the fans because management following such a regime want to for the most part rid the place of the stink and regardless where they were drafted, they are let go or traded.

The Jenkins injury has double impact as it moves whitehair out of center. O line was horrible across board with Braxton as LVP

Play calling I did not care for on offense. Defense felt so conservative. There was no pressure from the Defensive front. Love had so much time in the pocket. I really do not blame Fields too much. He has been told to pass the ball more and not run and that is what he started to do and the first half, he looked really good. Consistent. I do blame the entire offensive line except Wright who actually looked good for a rookie in his first NFL game. Davis just looked like he was overpowered and out of shape every play. Jones just being inconsistent and making errors. Patrick just needs to not be on the Offensive line. Fields just had no time to go through the reads and always was looking the first read down.

Getsy doesn't have an offensive lineman's mentality when it comes to play-calling. He calls plays with the punters mentality, soft!

I can't talk about the Bears right now, it was painful. Typo in your ticker at the bottom though, you had Buccaneers 0-1 when it said they were playing the Bears next week but then the ticker was correct when it talked about Bucs beating Vikings.

Even before this game it was a well known fact that the strength of the Packers defense was up the middle, and defending screen passes. Their secondary blows absolute chunks! To me, I figured the Bears were just shutting them up in the first half. You know… letting them know they weren’t afraid to go right at them. When that trash continued after the half, you could see it in the players faces,,,they were being handcuffed. Yes, wide open receivers, but apparently that wasn’t what was being called for. It could also be the fact the starters didn’t play much in the preseason and were woefully prepared for the regular season. The first game is not the time to figure out what works and find your identity. The intensity this team did show in preseason simply wasn’t there except maybe the first few plays. The offense feeds off the defense and the defense feeds off the offense. They showed their ass yesterday, and they’d better get it cleaned up because Poles was absolutely steaming while watching that garbage the team called football yesterday. To me, it seemed like the bears intended to throw the game. They had wide open receivers all over the place. It wasn’t that fields was scared to make the throw… what would he be scared of? Scoring? He made several beautiful passes, and tossed an int that really was annoying. The defense responded with their own buffoonery. The secondary couldn’t get on the same page at all. Stevens thought they were in one coverage but they were in another and that left a receiver wide open… this happened several times actually. Another was leaving Edmonds one on one against Jones… like that’s not a complete mismatch. First drive, the packers were 3-3 on 3rd down. The bears defense simply couldn’t get off the field. Same thing in preseason… they couldn’t get off the freaking field. Question… did anyone actually see the bears run a blitz all day? Didn’t even really try to get pressure on love. Nope… just stayed in a schemeless defense that matched the vanilla bland offense. If this team can’t even properly run vanilla offense and defense, we have a lot more issues than are being discussed.

Bears spent the last 2 years of Day 1 FA on Def, and the majority of early draft picks on Def and this is what they put together? How can you spend 2 years fixing one side of the ball, and have it be as bad as it was 2 years ago. Meanwhile they left their young QB hung out to dry during those 2 years, he's needed a legit OL for 2 years, he needed multiple options to throw to for 2 years. They have him 1 wr and 2 ol in 2 years. What a joke.

I predicted that the bears would win 3 games last year. Sadly this year we will be lucky to win 5 or 6 games if lucky

Zero pass rush, zero pass block, no coaching skill set. Waisted all that money and still have nothing to show for it

Lets be real here 2023 isnt our year yes we made great improvements but that just brought us up to an average team last year we were a practice squad team. 2024 is our year we’ll get Dallas Turner, Emeka to replace Claypool, Van Pran, Blake Fisher, a couple inside linemen, Tyliek i think next year is when we supplement our average team with super star power maybe some big free agents.
