Barbra Streisand is my all time favorite artist and Lara is quickly becoming my second favorite. I love all of her songs. What a treasure. Also, she’s a Belgian native just like I am. Proud 🇧🇪

I see you’re Belgian. Maybe you can help me here. I’m from Argentina living in Belgium. I discovered Lara in Argentina with her song Love by Grace (big in South America). Now that I’m living in Belgium, I’m surprised her own country doesn’t play her on the radios at all? Like seriously it’s like they don’t even recognize her here. Am I wrong ? You have one of the best vocalists and performers ever and it’s crazy to me that Belgium is not really supporting her

This is Lara in broadway mode! I really love this so much, also one of my very favorite and I really loved your reaction to it ♥️♥️♥️ In rhis concert, just before this song, she makes a speech in french explaining that her parents are attending and celebrating that day their 30th wedding birthday. And she also said that her father invested all his money to finance her first record and make her dreams come true. And so this song was for them and him especially.

There's a reason for that. Lara did come to the States in 2000 and signed by Sony. Sony also had Celine as well. I think Celine was on sabbatical having babies at the time. Sony didn't want Lara to do her ballads as they already had Celine. They pushed Lara to compete with the likes of Christina Aguilera and others. Instead of the love ballads Lara wanted to promote, they had her sing and perform 'I will love again ' which incidentally hit number 1 on the charts for billboard dance hits...something like that. They kept trying to get her to lose weight to fit in those tight outfits and be like J Lo and such....she had enough after a while and left the US for good, going back to Europe whilst living in Canada to become an international superstar. In my opinion, Celine had nothing to do with it rather it was her husband René. I can guarantee you that he did everything he could to keep this talented, beautiful woman out of the US market. Lara tried really hard too...tons of videos of Lara performing in Times Square, doing telephons to promote her music..

As others also say, I don't think Barbra Streisand ever performed these together in one live take and so this may perhaps be the best live take of these two songs together in music history (it is an extremely difficult piece of music requiring vocal excellence and also much stamina which is why very very few have ever attempted to do it). Lara Fabian is amazing, one of the greatest female singers of all time (and possibly the best performer/storyteller on stage) and this is an historic performance.

Good job Angie as always. This is a true story, Barbara call Lara on the phone and said hy this is Barbara Streisand, Lara hang up thinking that this was prank call. Anyway, someone told that this was really B.S. She call back and Barbara hang up on her, has a joke. They went to a restaurant in New York after that , Lara ask for her permission to sing this song. Barbara gave her blessing and told her..Baby, if anyone can sing this song ...It’s you.

Lara has referred to Barbara as "the Queen... the Empress". That nght she wanted to pay tribute to her idol. This performance is unusual in that she did the two songs live in one take. Barbara never did that live, as far as I am aware.

I really like the way you react and you are also very nice. I love this medley that she has also done in more recent concerts. I am the same age as Lara and when I was a little girl I loved yentl and I enjoyed singing them out loud, streisand is unique but for me Lara is another planet. it's true she's theatrical in my opinion she could have been an actress too she made a kind of musical movie Mademoiselle zivago dive for each song she makes a different character and she is spectacular

Angie, thank you. I have been so looking forward to you seeing this performance from Lara, as I knew you would love it. As has been said, she honours Barbra and her Dad in this performance. I think this shows yet another side of Lara, the actress. She brings an incredible ammount of energy playing the part of Yentl, dashing about the stage, and at the same time singing these very difficult songs. One of my favourite Lara performances.

Thanks for your wonderful reaction. I didn't know anything about Lara until I was watching Dimash and he mentioned her as being a big influence on him. So I started to watch some of her videos but I've never seen this one before. I would say I have enjoyed most of her performances and this was incredible even though I personally don't like one of these songs, I was glued to the screen, I was so so impressed by the way she told the story. She didn't just sing the song she acted out the whole story. What stamina she has literally running around on stage whilst singing perfectly. I have been totally spoilt with Lara and Dimash performances so much so that I can't stand watching someone just stand on stage and sing. Thanks again for your reaction and say hi to Rollen 😘🤗

This day was established over 100 years ago. The idea came from women's rights activists in the USA. The day is a symbol of equality between men and women. In 1977, International Women's Day was recognized by the United Nations as a mainstream global holiday. This day is a public holiday in about 25 countries.
