👉Je t'aime means: "I love you" and the audience sings: We love you / On t’aime. I think that every artist can only wish for fans who stand by you and take an interest when you go through a dark time. As far as I know she had personal problems and she had just found out that Celin Dion had prevented her career in the USA. Her fans made an agreement with the pianist and sang the song for Lara. Have Celin Dion fans ever sung to her to comfort and support her? I think at that moment she felt that the USA is not the hub of the world and that she will have a great career like that.

Hello Lara has a very strong bond with her fans whom she calls her angels. during this concert Lara had just experienced a breakup and her audience came to tell her how much he loves her.

They were 7000 of her angels present at that concert. A dlegation of her fan club went to see the pianist and musical director before the show if they would agree if they start to sing that song before she did. They agreed and said that they would send a signal when to start. She was not, in any way aware of that situation, thus her surprise look.

This was a difficult moment in time for Lara and she was very depressed. Her fans arranged a surprise along with her pianist, Pierre, to sing to her. They passed out lyrics to the audience (most were already familiar with the song), and at the beginning you can even hear a fan yell (in French) " Don't sing Lara". They changed the words from I love you to We love you. It's a beautiful tribute to a very special lady.

What the person yells at the beginning is: "POUR TOI LARA" : "For You Lara". Nothing was arranged. It's a way too big crowd and venue to try to "organize" something like that. She always used to wait a bit at the beginning of the song and as all her fans know EVERY SONG, the crowd started to sing. The pianist just decided to start the song to follow the crowd. Lots of people like to make little stories but it just happened like that. That's the magic surrounding Lara in every concert she offers to her fans. When a crowd shows you love like that, it's very emotional for an artist, that's why she was so surprised. I saw all her shows in the era and that kind of magic happened in every show. Sorry if I disappointed some of you but that's the truth, as simple as that. I was in the crowd in the show "From Lara With Love" filmed in Montreal Quebec in December 1999 (even if everybody write 2000). At that time, I was DJ and Producer and met Lara a couple of times. She is an incredible human being and the best singer but was unlucky professionally. She's well known in many parts of the planet but in North America, Sony kept her away. There's an amazing documentary on her explaining everything that you can find here on YT!

At the beginning she said « you caught me off guard here » 🤣 The other comments say it all. A couple things I would live to add nevertheless: * I love how lara receives the love of her fans and gives space for them to sing, establishing a beautiful dialog. This is for me the demonstration of her humility and her real empathy for her audience * the whole concert was special, a kind of love fest between Lara and her fans, with a lot of beautiful interactions, but this was for sure the most astonishing moment * this is so unique that it made the headline news in France the day after but believe it or not, in her case, it happened a couple more times : she has established such a strong connection with her fans thru her songs, lyrics, interpretation, she is such a great soul that her fans want to please her, to comfort her and so want to surprise her by singing a whole song. For instance there is a beautiful video in 2012 on the song Pas sans toi. * Lara later said that these events really uplifted her at times she even had suicidal thoughts * i would recommend you to check this other version of Je t’aime where Lara really sings, she is really soft and delicate, an angel voice on this one kzread.info/dash/bejne/iWmM1JeFlbTVo6g.html

Just so! You got more points from me with that statement.😆 Every piece of good music is always worth to check out. And this lady is on the top of it. It's interesting how she can make a grown man cry (such as you and me and i think others too) by crying herself or singing a touchy song, or just by singing so gorgeously that you can't help it. What's wrong with us...😂 No, seriously this was beautiful moment for her. Big appreciation and love from the audience. This time the actual singing was not so important, it was the connection... If you're interested there are many good versions (her live versions!) in the youtube of the song itself. Check it out. Tadaa!

This performance is from Dec 2001, they were IN FACT still together at that point. From your comments I know that you understand the depth of love that Lara gets from her fans, but also how she not only let them sing, but accompanied them. I believe it shows her true nature as a wonderfull human being. Some artists would not allow the audience to take over their song. Although I dislike the practice, may I request that you react to another artist dear to my heart, Eva Cassidy. Eva was an American singer/guitarist who died in 1996 of cancer. Yes, everyone goes through hard times from time to time, but when you are a public figure and a group of 'haters' set up a hate campaign in the media and attack you personally and professionally for months on end using ridicule and outright lies -then of course it takes it's toll. This is the true meaning of 'heart warming" - when an audience of this size; ( I think it was over 6,000? ) decides to send a firm message of appreciation and affirmation and Love. A beautiful message for a beautiful soul as well as an outstanding talent. 😊❤
