That was such a fun rendition of this song. And loved the animation! Tim is perfect for the narrating of this song. This was originally done by Ray Stevens. He is a country & pop singer-songwriter & comedian known for his novelty hits such as "Gitarzan", "Ahab The Arab", "Along Came Jones", "The Streak" and others. I just saw online that Ray Stevens loved what Home Free did with his song.

One of my favorites. My late husband was from Pascagoula, Mississippi and he loved this song. Definitely check the original song by Ray Stevens.

I knew as little as you about the song, though I did recognize the Jetsons. It was pure fun. Go to the channel of Reactions by D and hear him tell what once happened to him by a squirrel by the end of his reaction.

Home Free did it again! This is simply amazing! What a fun video!! How beautifully done! While watching this video, the older Home Free videos also came to my mind where Home Free is also in the church. That made me laugh even more. I am alone, but I think if others saw me then, they would think there was something wrong with me. And as always great singing, the perfect harmony and background vocals, incredible bass and the inhumanly good beatboxing

This was a classic done by Ray Steven's. He is known for his humorous stories and songs here in the US. You should Google his other works like The Streak, It's Me Again Margaret, I'm my own Grandpa. My favorite is a serious song called Everything is Beautiful. Yes I think all the cartoon characters were supposed to be like the old cartoons of the Jetsons, Tweety Bird, and others that the HomeFrys will list for you. HomeFree were the parishioners sitting on the benches just with some different hair colors. The sailor blushing I think was supposed to be Chance and he did a fantastic job of covering the bass while Timmy sang. Thanks 😊

The guys did a great job with this goofy song. Rob, Chance, and Austin are a lot of fun with their singing. Adam doing the beatboxing as always great. Tim singing and telling the story, which is so hilarious. His eyebrows going up and down are goofy also. They are amazing. Ray Stevens, the original for this song and more songs, liked what the guys did. 😂😊😅

You asked if the man at the end looked like George Jetson. I would say exactly other than hair color. If you notice, his wife is George's wife and the boy is Elroy (all with different hair color).

Ray Stevens was noted for his novelty songs ("Along Came Jones", "Sittin' Up With the Dead", etc.) but he also has an album of gorgeous gospel songs and his version of "Misty" is unforgettable. I love this video - the animation, singing and, of course, Tim's lead. And I think I've been to the "First Self-Righteous Church" (LOL). Thanks again for your comments!

Wasn’t that fun?!! Yes a real song by Ray Stevens who was a comedian here and singer/songwriter. He often wrote silly songs. You just knew with this title it would be funny. Tim was perfect for the lead. Loved the animation too.🥰

Definitely George Jetson and, for those of us old enough to remember, similarities to a number of other classic H/B cartoons of the past. Others more knowledgeable than I have said it is Chance on bass. Enjoyed this a lot. Some cool Austin flourishes the last time thru the chorus and the cute little Sea Shanty reference especially. Thanks for another great HF reaction.

Good reaction! I still crack up of the name of the church: The First Self-Righteous Church! Ray Stevens is a comedic musical-writing genius. I recommend you check out his video of this. Many of the characters in HF'S version are little nods to Hanna-Barbera cartoons, like The Jetsons.

As far as I know, the Jetsons was never shown outside the US. So meaning little to HF's considerable fan base in other countries, indeed like the whole song.

I’ve see a couple comments that Chance was on bass for this one. I recently found out that is not the case. Tim is actually double tracked on this. I’m sure Chance would do the bass in concert, though.

I absolutely hated this. A complete waste of effort by the band. I thought with the last album that the band was going in new directions, which might finally bring in the new fans (and working up to a point, as we hear that Imagine is getting air time in Australia and the guys performing Road Sweet Road live on radio there). Then they do this. Who for? The gushing comments so far all say "I remember I loved this as a child." Sorry, guys, nostalgia doesn't bring in new fans, and it seems perverse when planning a major overseas tour to release a song which means nothing at all to anyone outside the US. Hope there's something better in the works. There are still tracks on SLD which are crying out for videos and have not been released as singles, a strange decision when they include some of the most popular tracks.
