I think the reason Hyper Sonic couldn't one-shot Mario is because the Hyper form still can't one-shot tougher enemies ("boss enemies", so to speak). Also, he can still die from being crushed in this form, so it seems Sonic can only use so much of that "unlimited power" (which is still likely a lot).

Mario with the invincible star can die instantly if he touches lava similar to hyper sonic dying from getting crushed. Considering those are game mechanics, we shouldn’t be using those as arguments

The Wisp are from Sonic Colors which is as old as as Sonic Unleashed in Sonic 06 so the Wisp aren't new

After my rudimentary look at Ultron and Sigma, I can only guess that their hacking power is about even, Ultron might have a defense edge, and Sigma might have a mobility edge.

Fun fact: if Wiz and Boomstick used feats from the Archi comics, then Sonic defiantly​ would've won.

For me it is Ben 10 vs Green Lantern. I’m a fan of both but Ben should of had that in the bag. The bias is so evident in that death battle and Q and A that anyone can call them out it.

In all honesty it's hard to tell Jenny definitely has more strength, speed and arsenal advantage, but Rex is able to manipulate multiple kinds of machinery. I don't know if it would effective against Jenny. There's also the fact that Rex is cybernetic, he has higher tolerance than the average human surviving a space elevator going thousands of miles an hour, but Jenny could just yeet him out of the atmosphere and he would eventually freeze to death if not suffocate from no air.

They only used SOME feats from sonic boom and sonic x, but not all of them otherwise the outcome would most likely be different

It's also likely that Mario was technically using the effects of a Rainbow Star, which lasts much longer than a simple Starman.

Not to mention, he didn't in the battle, but with his Bottomless Gloves, he could use an infinite amount of Starmen or Rainbow Stars if he wanted to. He just didn't because it wouldn't have been as dramatic.

The problem is that Death Battle insists that mario is at galaxy level of power. He's not they say he survived the black hole. He didn't.

in contrast to popular belief, they do not have a rule against outside help and did allow Cappy in the research also they brought up that Sonic has resisted mind control, essentially the perfect counter the real reason he didn't show up in the fight was time and budget constraints, they either had to cut Cappy or the army of cat clones

on the Podcast, Ben (VA of Wiz) said that in addition to Sonic being immune to mind control, they also thought that adding Cappy only to be no sold would stop the pace of the animation, so they replaced it with the Double Cherry scene

Quick correction here: The outside help rule is part of the third rule, stating "factors unrelated to characters cannot end the battle." So Iron Man's suits and Jarvis are counted, as they are a part of the character's arsenal, but he couldn't just call in the Hulk to end the fight. That's unrelated to the character, and not what we're asking.
