I saw many musicians react to this song and all felt connected with his message. Jake's tears were so understandable. Yoongi made me cry more than once through his work as his emotions show through his voice. He's raw and powerful.

in the song he mentions his crushed shoulder. he was in an accident during their trainee years and was injured but never told anyone out of fear that he’d be kicked out of bts so he went on for years training and dancing and doing all the bts things all while being untreated. you can even notice in some performances he won’t raise his hands higher than a certain point or will be gripping it as if it’s bothering him. he was able to finally get treatment a few years ago. he also talks about this in his solo work as Agust D and how the whole situation fucked with him, it was a really hard time as it… almost dethroned his music career. these short films do tie into the overall bts storyline but the songs are super personal to them. jake, i feel you bud lol

Suga is personifying the piano speaking to him.. this whole song is about the piano having a conversation with him telling him that " I (the piano) will accept you (Suga) anytime you wanna come back doesn't matter what form I will take when we meet again" ... Suga grew up poor and struggle all his life, he didn't have many friends and has anxiety and depression, the only thing that was his friend is the piano and music (which he didn't know their significant back then because he was still lost and hating life). So when he finally came back around to his childhood piano, he realized that his first love this whole time was the piano/music and it was his only safe place until this day.

It’s amazing you said that “something almost dethroned his music career”… later you’ll find out that in real life he had a car accident with his delivery scooter which damaged his shoulder badly. He was a trainee at the time working part time as a delivery guy and never told the company or the members for fear he would be cut from the group since yhey hadn’t debuted yet. Of course, the story line is fictional, but I know their songs in them are personal and real. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜😊

The song makes me cry too, every time, especially the live. And it really is that simple: it's about his passion for music and it's about a literal piano. A lot of musicians really get that. I was really touched, Jake. 💜 Borahae. It's fine to read another kind of relationship into it - he wanted that, he wanted to capture how his love of music is like other kinds of first love. He's telling a deeply personal story but he always wants there to be a universal connection. I would love it if Jake didn't feel like he needed to apologize for the tears. BTS members cry in front of us. When Suga performs this live he chokes out the end of it, and he cried in his last concert. Sang through the tears. I love watching musicians connect with this song. It was my favorite of Suga's until he came out with Amygdala, which might have just edged it out.

Every musician I've seen react to this song, they always break down in tears....They know these feelings that Suga is writing about; falling in love with music, feeling that connection with an instrument, some obstacle or event that tears them away for a time, but when they were able to come back to it the music and that connection was able to get them through the hard time

This is how passionate SUGA is when it comes to music. When there will come a time where he has to retire as BTS, I think he'd be a full time producer for other artists. I have to add that SUGA's rap hits different for me. That is why he is my bias. Because of how good he can show emotions through his voice, he's such a good narrator too. I always love how he can portray anger, sadness, sarcasm, happiness and all other emotions in his rap.

Music is meant to be experienced and Suga is a MASTER at creating an experience that is palpable, inspiring and emotional. SUGA in the beginning of his career with BTS suffered an accident where his shoulder was damaged. He didn’t tell anyone afraid of being cut from the group. Only years later he went through a surgery to fix it. He used to be in pain and now he appreciates dancing and seems happier. They all went through a long path. Jake is right. About getting emotional, we all in certain point of our journey with BTS, were touched by a song, a storie. And that is why I became an ARMY. MUSIC TOUCHES OUR HEART AND SOUL.💜💜💜💜

It’s like being a detective, right? Watching the bu series of mv’s starting with I need u, I didn’t think I would be so into figuring out everything. You guys are doing well. Suga film has some double meanings. The car accident references to the bu where jk is hit by a car. But… also during his trainee days suga was in a car accident. The tub? It’s a connection to Jimin. 1st love? Could be a relationship or his love for music. The whistle in the beginning was the same whistle from jk’s film. The burning piano has been in every film so far. You’ll notice Suga’s emblem morphed into jk’s. Meaning not only is he connected to Jimin in some way but he is a part of jk’s story. As for the song? Again you nailed it. Many meanings. His music, his friend, bts, his family? Only he knows. I think he writes from his gut. He’s honest and holds nothing back. Hello! It’s said that when Suga recorded the song he was crying & after the recording the producer had ask if it should be edited & they made the decision to leave it in. His mum was one of his inspiration on this path of music ... she used to play piano, she offered suga one and it is the most precious thing for him ... during life he had a lot of situations that kept him apart from his love ( music and piano). He had to move from deagu ( his home town) to Seul to persecute his dream, he didn't had money to catch the bus or even to eat what he wanted, so it was a really tough path for him, he thought he was lost, going nowhere, giving a lot and having nothing in return, but he made it, they made it... In 2016 when the song was released they ( BTS) started to be recognized, so he promised himself to keep in this relationship ( piano = music) and never giving up on his true love ( music) because it was near him during his childhood and it going to stay near him till the day he dies. Piano = relationship with the music

Ahhh it is my favorite song, you can feel him do much in this song, he also cried when he recorded it... It is about passion for music and piano is one side of this music. It is really straight hehe. Suga has BTS, Music, Family, Army and friends, this is what he lives thro, and most of this things are connnected to music. Yes sometimes their song have "you, him, her, etc" but in korean offten they are neutral and not specific but translation really dosen't allow it in english you have to have something specific, person, thing, etc ... (Bc if you try to use neutral wording it sound weird, and translation have to be easier to understand and not harder hehe) Sometimes they don't talk about someone, but people offten try to put this meaning bc there are "you" or it feel like they are talking to person, but more offten they are talking to themself or to something not specific, like feeling, memory, passion, etc, they also offten talk to fans, but most people think this are like romantic relationship songs... And more then offten they aren't. The same with break up songs they aren't all the time about romantic relationship but any relationship friendship, family, fans, things, even animals, each other.... And sure it easier to first think it is about "girl and boy" hehe and bc their song are not specyfic you can related your situation... So even if sometimes we know meaning, you still can put it in your live and relate. Ahh by i'm sure some people tell you this alredy. And bc you are doing this songs from Wings youbcan see hiw great b-sides are on BTS albums, watching MVs you can't really get theirs fully bc singles for albums are usually more for people, more out there songs, more hype offten.... One of the deeper cut songs I am so glad you got to hear. So many reactors never get to this track and they miss so much because the Wing solos are art. I havent seen anyone else quite explain how living with a passion can be. If you are a musician a writer whatever you can find this so powerful and relatable. He even cried recording this and used the tracks where he is crying as a background track instead of scrapping it. Raw emotions and his writing producing and musical ability shown here elevate him beyond that kpop or boy band stereotype. He has an uncanny ability for theatrics and building intensity. On the stage live he even had them bring the actual brown piano from his childhood home on tour and almost couldn’t finish the song he gets so emotional. All the Wings solo songs are intense and personal to the guys. The next three are just as good. FYI in the song he talks about his accident and his motorcycle accident almost killed him and injured him right before the BTS debut and caused him years of pain with music as his solace while he hid how bad the injury was from the others for years. He did finally get time for shoulder surgery in 2020 Jake totally get it and it’s an emotional punch I get you it made me tear up every time the first few dozen times I listened. Hope Tokyo is fun!

I have no idea how to make a top-anything of BTS songs, but this one is so special to me. I came across this randomly as one of the first BTS songs over three years ago after reading about Dynamite's new world records. I was going through an absolute terrible time in my life and couldn't recognize myself at that time. Hearing this reminded me so much of my earlier self where I used to spend SO many hours every day playing music. It was like he opened a door in my mind that had been closed for a while. Like I could finally feel that part of me. I remember staring out the window with tears running down my cheeks for what must have been about an hour. Just thinking back. Feeling. Remembering. This, and going through more of BTS' music really brought me back to the essense of me. You don't have to react to it now, if you already have (take your time)... but once you are ready, mentally, I would love to see your reaction to Spring Day and the Italian ARMY "explanation video" (which is technically a fan theory, but a very plausible one. Parts of it has been confirmed by the members several years later).

Great reactions! Love that you guys are up for being yourselves. This is one of my all time faves. I discovered this late in my BTS journey and from the first time I heard it I was blown away and surprised I had never heard it before. They have such a huge discography and almost all of them are gems. As much as I am OT7, Yoongi's music is my comfort zone... the fast, hardcore pace mixed with slow and intense pieces like this. So much more to discover. Love the way you are doing this... but again, you will miss soooooooo much by just doing their pop title songs. Will look forward to you discovering the versatility of their albums, mixtapes, OSTs, etc. :)

i clearly relate with suga. i consider music my first love but life has other plans. i have to find a ‘proper job’ that gets me a regular pay check coz family got so much debt. and i’m the breadwinner. most musicians (who are Army) can relate to this song. maybe one day i can still go back to my first love

I saw many musicians react to this song and all felt connected with his message. Jake's tears were so understandable. Yoongi made me cry more than once through his work as his emotions show through his voice. He's raw and powerful.
in the song he mentions his crushed shoulder. he was in an accident during their trainee years and was injured but never told anyone out of fear that he’d be kicked out of bts so he went on for years training and dancing and doing all the bts things all while being untreated. you can even notice in some performances he won’t raise his hands higher than a certain point or will be gripping it as if it’s bothering him. he was able to finally get treatment a few years ago. he also talks about this in his solo work as Agust D and how the whole situation fucked with him, it was a really hard time as it… almost dethroned his music career. these short films do tie into the overall bts storyline but the songs are super personal to them. jake, i feel you bud lol
Suga is personifying the piano speaking to him.. this whole song is about the piano having a conversation with him telling him that " I (the piano) will accept you (Suga) anytime you wanna come back doesn't matter what form I will take when we meet again" ... Suga grew up poor and struggle all his life, he didn't have many friends and has anxiety and depression, the only thing that was his friend is the piano and music (which he didn't know their significant back then because he was still lost and hating life). So when he finally came back around to his childhood piano, he realized that his first love this whole time was the piano/music and it was his only safe place until this day.
It’s amazing you said that “something almost dethroned his music career”… later you’ll find out that in real life he had a car accident with his delivery scooter which damaged his shoulder badly. He was a trainee at the time working part time as a delivery guy and never told the company or the members for fear he would be cut from the group since yhey hadn’t debuted yet. Of course, the story line is fictional, but I know their songs in them are personal and real. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜😊

Most people dont like or listen to BTS because "I cant understand what they are saying" as if subtitles doesn't exist or even google. You just have to give it a try. The song makes me cry too, every time, especially the live. And it really is that simple: it's about his passion for music and it's about a literal piano. A lot of musicians really get that. I was really touched, Jake. 💜 Borahae. It's fine to read another kind of relationship into it - he wanted that, he wanted to capture how his love of music is like other kinds of first love. He's telling a deeply personal story but he always wants there to be a universal connection. I would love it if Jake didn't feel like he needed to apologize for the tears. BTS members cry in front of us. When Suga performs this live he chokes out the end of it, and he cried in his last concert. Sang through the tears. I love watching musicians connect with this song. It was my favorite of Suga's until he came out with Amygdala, which might have just edged it out.

Every musician I've seen react to this song, they always break down in tears....They know these feelings that Suga is writing about; falling in love with music, feeling that connection with an instrument, some obstacle or event that tears them away for a time, but when they were able to come back to it the music and that connection was able to get them through the hard time
Thats the magic of BTS. You maybe dont understand the words, but you still feel the emotion. And Suga is a master with that. Thank you for that Jake. Its ok to get emotional 🙏

This is how passionate SUGA is when it comes to music. When there will come a time where he has to retire as BTS, I think he'd be a full time producer for other artists. I have to add that SUGA's rap hits different for me. That is why he is my bias. Because of how good he can show emotions through his voice, he's such a good narrator too. I always love how he can portray anger, sadness, sarcasm, happiness and all other emotions in his rap.
I am not a musician but am a music lover and of course ARMY. This is the only BTS song to make me cry the first time I heard it. Suga is really special and a really brave artist. There is NO ONE doing it like them.💜

Music is meant to be experienced and Suga is a MASTER at creating an experience that is palpable, inspiring and emotional. Those of us who are lucky enough to have that kind of relationship with music or an instrument feel this song more and I LOVE Jakes reaction as I cry a little EVERY TIME I hear this song because it is so intense. SUGA in the beginning of his career with BTS suffered an accident where his shoulder was damaged. He didn’t tell anyone afraid of being cut from the group. Only years later he went through a surgery to fix it. He used to be in pain and now he appreciates dancing and seems happier. They all went through a long path. Jake is right. It’s like being a detective, right? Watching the bu series of mv’s starting with I need u, I didn’t think I would be so into figuring out everything. You guys are doing well. Suga film has some double meanings. The car accident references to the bu where jk is hit by a car. But… also during his trainee days suga was in a car accident. The tub? It’s a connection to Jimin. 1st love? Could be a relationship or his love for music. The whistle in the beginning was the same whistle from jk’s film. The burning piano has been in every film so far. You’ll notice Suga’s emblem morphed into jk’s. Meaning not only is he connected to Jimin in some way but he is a part of jk’s story. As for the song? Again you nailed it. Many meanings. His music, his friend, bts, his family? Only he knows. I think he writes from his gut. He’s honest and holds nothing back. Hello! It’s said that when Suga recorded the song he was crying & after the recording the producer had ask if it should be edited & they made the decision to leave it in. So if you listen carefully you will hear the way his voice gets choked up in the breathing. Remember: Love yourself & speak yourself! 💜
Seeing him sing this live was simply something else. I was lucky enough to go on the Wings Tour 2017 and FL's performance made me burst into tears (awake as well), it was so beautiful and special... I even fot a tattoo related to this song and this day

His mum was one of his inspiration on this path of music ... she used to play piano, she offered suga one and it is the most precious thing for him ... during life he had a lot of situations that kept him apart from his love ( music and piano). He had to move from deagu ( his home town) to Seul to persecute his dream, he didn't had money to catch the bus or even to eat what he wanted, so it was a really tough path for him, he thought he was lost, going nowhere, giving a lot and having nothing in return, but he made it, they made it... In 2016 when the song was released they ( BTS) started to be recognized, so he promised himself to keep in this relationship ( piano = music) and never giving up on his true love ( music) because it was near him during his childhood and it going to stay near him till the day he dies. Piano = relationship with the music

Ahhh it is my favorite song, you can feel him do much in this song, he also cried when he recorded it... It is about passion for music and piano is one side of this music. It is really straight hehe. Suga has BTS, Music, Family, Army and friends, this is what he lives thro, and most of this things are connnected to music. Yes sometimes their song have "you, him, her, etc" but in korean offten they are neutral and not specific but translation really dosen't allow it in english you have to have something specific, person, thing, etc ... (Bc if you try to use neutral wording it sound weird, and translation have to be easier to understand and not harder hehe) Sometimes they don't talk about someone, but people offten try to put this meaning bc there are "you" or it feel like they are talking to person, but more offten they are talking to themself or to something not specific, like feeling, memory, passion, etc, they also offten talk to fans, but most people think this are like romantic relationship songs... And more then offten they aren't. The same with break up songs they aren't all the time about romantic relationship but any relationship friendship, family, fans, things, even animals, each other.... And sure it easier to first think it is about "girl and boy" hehe and bc their song are not specyfic you can related your situation... So even if sometimes we know meaning, you still can put it in your live and relate. Ahh by i'm sure some people tell you this alredy. And bc you are doing this songs from Wings youbcan see hiw great b-sides are on BTS albums, watching MVs you can't really get theirs fully bc singles for albums are usually more for people, more out there songs, more hype offten.... So yeah gems are in albums.

One of the deeper cut songs I am so glad you got to hear. So many reactors never get to this track and they miss so much because the Wing solos are art. I havent seen anyone else quite explain how living with a passion can be. If you are a musician a writer whatever you can find this so powerful and relatable. He even cried recording this and used the tracks where he is crying as a background track instead of scrapping it. Raw emotions and his writing producing and musical ability shown here elevate him beyond that kpop or boy band stereotype. He has an uncanny ability for theatrics and building intensity. On the stage live he even had them bring the actual brown piano from his childhood home on tour and almost couldn’t finish the song he gets so emotional. All the Wings solo songs are intense and personal to the guys. The next three are just as good. FYI in the song he talks about his accident and his motorcycle accident almost killed him and injured him right before the BTS debut and caused him years of pain with music as his solace while he hid how bad the injury was from the others for years. He did finally get time for shoulder surgery in 2020 Jake totally get it and it’s an emotional punch I get you it made me tear up every time the first few dozen times I listened. Hope Tokyo is fun!

I have no idea how to make a top-anything of BTS songs, but this one is so special to me. I came across this randomly as one of the first BTS songs over three years ago after reading about Dynamite's new world records. I was going through an absolute terrible time in my life and couldn't recognize myself at that time. Hearing this reminded me so much of my earlier self where I used to spend SO many hours every day playing music. It was like he opened a door in my mind that had been closed for a while. Like I could finally feel that part of me. I remember staring out the window with tears running down my cheeks for what must have been about an hour. Just thinking back. Feeling. Remembering. This, and going through more of BTS' music really brought me back to the essense of me. You don't have to react to it now, if you already have (take your time)... but once you are ready, mentally, I would love to see your reaction to Spring Day and the Italian ARMY "explanation video" (which is technically a fan theory, but a very plausible one. Parts of it has been confirmed by the members several years later).
I'm so very late experiencing this reaction. First of all. Jake, thank you for your service. I'm so glad you had music to comfort you during those difficult times. Great reactions! Love that you guys are up for being yourselves. This is one of my all time faves. I discovered this late in my BTS journey and from the first time I heard it I was blown away and surprised I had never heard it before. They have such a huge discography and almost all of them are gems. As much as I am OT7, Yoongi's music is my comfort zone... the fast, hardcore pace mixed with slow and intense pieces like this. So much more to discover. Love the way you are doing this... but again, you will miss soooooooo much by just doing their pop title songs. Will look forward to you discovering the versatility of their albums, mixtapes, OSTs, etc. :)
