THAT encore stage that other ppl are hating on was actually not bad. I've listened to it several times and they did so well even thought there are some inconsistensies, it was overall good. Ppl were just riding on the hating train just to bring down ZB1's popularity, when ZB1 literally can sing live liveee.

I’m not sure what’s with everyone bringing idols down when they don’t do perfectly in the encore live stages. I know LE SSERAFIM was the target of this too. And while I do agree that part of the job of being an idol is being able to sing (you don’t have to be god tier although some are naturally gifted or have worked so hard to get there and their efforts are evident) but I don’t expect idols to be perfect all the time or perfect in general period unlike some people’s unrealistic expectations/standards. There’s no such thing as perfect, and they’re all human too. Perfection itself is a concept that humans have coined to describe an ideal state of something, whether it's an object, a performance, or a situation. It's a standard we aspire to, but it's never really ever fully attainable (in other words, Perfection exists as a concept in human perception and ideals, but in the physical world, it's often unattainable due to the complexities and imperfections inherent in reality.) Therefore, I’m not blinded by this idea of perfection that can’t be reached, and other people should learn not to either. It can be motivation to achieve the highest state one can achieve but it’s still subjective

He was really loved by children, women, men, and the elderly. He is once called a grandma because of his korean enunciations. He just got that lovely and youthful vibe that every generation would delight and find comfort in.

Yess I love listening to hao sing so much, his lower register is my fav too (you should check out some clips from his lives, he takes song requests and when he does Chinese ballads they tend to feature that lower fuller sound and he sounds AMAZING doing them). Also this episode on lee mujin was so fun lol the way you can see him falling for hao’s charms, which who wouldn’t when the man always looks so happy to be singing and dancing. We stan idols who truly love their jobs, and I think you can tell with hao that every moment spent performing is truly one of joy. Cant wait for the hanbin episode!

I love LOVE hao's lee mujin episode so much. his voice is sooo beautiful and his technique is amazing. Like you said he sings so prettily. Also hao is so charming to the point of I think everyone could love him instantly.

The 1st song Always was his solo song because he won 1st place in boys planet. It is part of his prize.

He's mainly a girl group stan but he really liked K-Pop and K-Pop Groups in General. He's fav group is Got7.

I love the reaction! I like how you made a lot of relevant comments, and it's great to see Hao's talents being appreciated. I'm still obsessed with this episode of LMS and I've rewatched it many times since it came out. About Hao's solo song in ZB1's debut album, it's the one he opened the episode with. He had already sung it (well, a part of it) before he talked about it. It's called "Always" and the reason why he has a solo is that it was one of the prizes for the first place on Boys Planet. Unfortunately, there's no MV for it, and WakeOne did nothing to promote the song. Like Hao said, this episode was the first time that he sang it in an official schedule. He didn't sing it on their debut showcase, music shows, nothing. He'd only sung a bit of it during his solo lives on Bubble and stuff like that. You asked if Hao is an army, and I don't think he's ever said he is, specifically, but he's a big kpop fan in general. He seriously loves kpop music and has been a fan since way before becoming a trainee. I'd say he seems to be especially into girl groups, if we can go by his enthusiasm singing and dancing to GG songs, but he really likes A LOT of artists. The one group he's always said he's a fan of is GOT7: he wrote on his Boys Planet profile that GOT7 are his rolemodels, and Lullaby is his favorite song. His GOT7 bias is Jinyoung, which we found out when Youngjae asked Hao on his radio show. When ZB1 went on GOT7's Youngjae's radio show, they talked about the fact that he's an ahgase and Youngjae gave Hao a signed album. Hao was so excited, it was adorable! Since then Hao and Youngjae seem to have gotten closer, it's really cute. Hao has also gotten closer to other idols since he debuted, because he reaches out and tries to make friends with people he admires, especially other Chinese idols. I thought it was especially interesting that he asked for Soobin's number and became his friend, since Soobin is not Chinese, so Hao had the courage to reach out out of nowhere. Even though he's an introvert, he's quite sociable (and a successful fan lol). And this might be random, but since you seem to mostly know about ZB1 from guides and their music videos, something that made me pay more attention to Hao from the beginning of Boys Planet was his heterophobic allegations. Now, we don't talk much about it openly as a fandom, because we don't want the general public to be nasty to Hao because of it, but you should look it up to know what I mean. I love that Hao is so genuinely himself, and you'll notice that as you get to know ZB1 better. Thanks for the reaction! I'll watch the one to Hanbin's episode when it comes out.

it's very fun to be a fan of Hao because as he mentioned in the video he's very passionate about K-Pop, he used to be a part of an Itzy cover group and took part in many dance classes for kpop choreos. Nowadays he also knows all the songs and choreos, it's incredible. He's gone live just to dance and sing to kpop songs for half an hour before and its so much fun to watch him enjoy himself, due to being a Kpop fan he also knows what fans want and like, you can tell he was meant for this job (not just to be a singer, a musician, but an idol) and he's living his dream! He's definitely a girl group stan overall but he's actually an ahgase so his favorite group and inspiration has been GOT7 and it was confirmed that his bias is Jinyoung. Anyways thank you so much for this reaction, I was looking forward to it. I love all the covers so much, I'm simply obsessed with his voice, and watching Lee Mujin be flustered and enchanted by him is very amusing lol. Hao's confidence, his flirtatious nature and how he fishes for compliments (not in the negative way but a playful manner) is another thing I love about him, such an entertaining charming personality.

I’m thinking maybe next time doing Starry Club with Hao/Taerae/Gunwook ? There’s a 40 minute video where they talk + sing a song each and there’s a bonus version where they each sing a 2nd song that wasn’t included in the 40min/official video (tho you’d have to skip the songs they already did since the bonus vids include all the singing portions of the og video too) On the 2nd songs it’s pretty nice to hear lows on there since Hao/Taerae were singing around C3 (B2 even)

i appreciate what you said about formal music training because yeah it's nuanced and you totally don't need that to be a good singer, but sometimes zhang hao sings things and i'm like oh, that's some very specific vowel placement, that's some classical training peeking through lol and it's just nice to see. edit: the zh in zhang is just pronounced like a hard j! zhang = "jahng"

Thank you for reacting! one of the reason's i love hao so much is he is not afraid at all to sing live without any post production! most of his lives are him taking requests from fans for songs to sing and belting them out with no fear because he knows he has the talent to do it live. (also for pronouncing his name, just think of it spelled 'jang hao' so pronounce the start of "zhang" the same way you would "joe")

His voice is incredible The 'So Bad' cover is my fav! Gives me chills everytime And I know, right?? I was confused as heck why people were hating about their encore performance online. Especially when it's a widely known fact that in encores for K-music shows, the artists don't have in-ears (making it incredibly difficult to hear their own voice over the audience). So they did incredibly well given the situation And that doesn't negate the talent of other artist's either. Mistakes happen to basically everyone

He loves singing so you might hear him sing during the dance practice video such as take my hand and he takes recommendations when he goes live and singing on the spot.

yayyy, i'm seated for any zb1 content hehe (plus this is my fave ep I've rewatched it so many times) i highly recommend some of their recording and practice behinds 'cause you can also see them getting ready and fixing details in little teams, for eg hao's teaching was popping off when he and taerae aka the two main vocals got ready for in bloom it's actually my fave thing about zb1, the fact that they debuted "older" than most gave them the chance to study, have jobs, earn life experiences, etc before all this and it gives them a rare trait that sets them apart... it also allows them to not care about being "unfinished" lol

i don't think that was his masters. that was his bachelor's degree. he had said previously that he didn't finish it so i think that's what he went back to china to do.

But it seems like his teacher's certification (specifically for "高级中学" senior secondary school) requires a bachelor's degree according to China's Teacher Law "教师法". (You can verify this on the China website) The korean word he used "대학원도 시험" translates to "graduate school exam". The word for undergraduate is diffferent, so presumably he was studying for something more then a bachelor's degree. It's hard to tell if there's a mistranslation when Hao talks about his degree because I've seen clips where he said he hasn't graduated and don't plan on further studies. It's possible that he went back to china for a master's degree because a bachelor's degree is not a "graduate" degree and further studies could be reference to a doctorate degree (which is also categorized under a graduate degree, hence mudding the waters more.) TL:DR - A Master's degree isn't off the table at this point. Maybe Hao wlll post a photo of his cert when he graduates lol. Let me know if I missed any info that says he hasn't gotten his bachelor's degree.

​@@sssssslll3650 i know what the word for it is in korean but i think he said previously that he was still in undergrad and preparing for the master's degree entrance exam when he was scouted by yuehua, so i interpreted it to mean he was finishing up his undergrad degree and/or taking the entrance exam for master's this time since he didn't do it before. he talks about his major and his teaching certificate a lot but he has never said he graduated or "i have a degree in music education" afaik. but i also don't know chinese law so you could be right.

@@breensprout I hope this doesn't sound argumentative because I honestly have no idea what the answer is and it's just fun to discuss this with someone. I've seen people say he didn't join Yuehua until he finished his degree but I haven't found the source on that, so who knows; but it would be possible that he completed his undergrad before going to korea. Do you have the link to where he said he was finishing his undergrad degree when he got scouted? In BP, he said he was in his 3rd year, which made it sound like he didn't complete his studies. If he was in some sort of integrated programme though, it would be possible for him to have earned his bachelor's while not completing his programme (hence, still in his 3rd year). If the teaching certificate is technically a higher certification then a bachelor's degree it would make sense to not mention his bachelor's degree. This might also just be an individual thing, but i don't usually specify that I graduated from xxx department if I were asked - I would just say I studied xxx in university and the part where I got my degree is kind of implied. I do agree that its a bit odd that his degree never gets mentioned even once, by him or other people though, so maybe that's a point in the "he's still an undergrad" guess. About the teaching requisites, while I did check the regulations I don't actually know how its put in practice or what the programmes are like in China so I can't say for sure that it guarantees that he got his bachelor's degree.
