I am 38 and my skin is pretty "normal" with no dryness or particular oily areas. I do have early signs of aging like fine lines/texture, as well as some sun damage and REDNESS!
I don't use fake tan, but I get very tan naturally in the summer as I have an olive undertone so my face is often a LOT lighter than my body, because I keep my face very well protected to keep my melasma under control and signs of aging at bay!

Minis!!!YES YES YES! Would totally be on board with 1/2 size foundations!,
I'm here for the mini blushes 😊 I'd feel so much better about buying new shades if they didn't take so long to finish.
Yes please, half sizes in everything (size DOES matter and I want a small one 🤪). Just looking at the Haus Labs blushers puts me off and why on earth do we need plate size highlighters????? Great vid 👍👍👍 Love ya, 💜🌸💜🌸💜
I have an unpopular opinion…😀. I don’t do the Insta so do you think maybe you could post this inquiry on YT also so your loyal followers here can weigh in? Thanks for the video it was great hearing everyone’s take on this especially yours Charlotte!
My two favorite Charlotte moments of late: the text to your boss about a "labial tear," and imagining you getting really angry at the wind. 😂🤣😂
You couldn’t have described it better between ND v PML eyeshadows. That said, I didn’t get the hype with PML until I bought the midnight sun palette. Then…I bought 9 other motherships at Christmas. Yes, I did. I am LOVING them!!!! Lol.
I love this sort of video from you! Also love that my husband now knows who it is when I'm listening to a video of yours, not by name but refers to you as 'that funny lady' 😂 makeup humour is clearly not wasted on him haha x

I'm with Samantha. I don't like YT shorts either. Both are a waste of my time...
I always felt CT got away with a lot, like their one face palette, while Hourglass was given so much shit about it. In regards to flawless skin: I think a good corrector will do more than a full coverage foundation. Especially if you’re older, I think a flawless skin will be easier reached with less of a heavy product.
I don’t think Pat McGrath would take so much heat for putting out more simple colors stories if she didn’t still charge artisan prices for them 🤷🏼♀️.
@loytoco

However, people are super fine re-buying the same colours over and over by Natasha Denona or Tom Ford. That was the point made by the person who commented. Same goes for price.
@girlwhomustnotbenamed4139

I think it's because she started out with interesting and versatile colour stories in her Motherships but has slowly transformed into all her palettes looking essentially the same. I'm personally not a fan of ND but with her mini and midi palettes her brand is a lot more affordable altogether, which takes a lot of the edge off, plus her eyeshadow colour stories are still mostly different and interesting.

My dopamine hit doesn't come from solely luxury or solely drugstore products. I get happy and excited when I find something amazing like the perfect red lippie. I don't care where I get it, I just want it lol
TOTALLY AGREE about wishing all makeup came in smaller sizes! That is one reason I love Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation: it comes in a mini 18 mLsize or a full bottle. I ONLY buy the mini - since I use two shades (winter and summer) and don't wear foundation every day, it is hard for me to use up a full size bottle! And the mini is great for travel. I don't like large packaging in general, but also, who needs that much product?! Highlighters have gotten ridiculous!
Tubing mascaras are great because a good tubing mascara won't smudge, smear or transfer at all. It can get to the end of the day and your eye area looks exactly the same, sans any panda effect. They also come off very easily, in soft pieces (tubes) when warm water is applied, so good for people with sensitive eyes or fragile eyelashes.

I used to work on counter and we had a moisturiser for oily skin that lots of customers used to tell me they hated the smell (sweaty feet apparently) and why did the company make it smell like that - it was fragrance free! You just can’t win sometimes 🤷🏻♀️😆
Unpopular opinions: - Sperm eyebrows are so odd and strange. This is where people do a rounded head at the inside beginning of their eyebrow and then this thin tail drawn in after. - Putting bronzer, blush and highlighter basically on the same spot on your cheek. It looks ridiculous (IMO). - Crimped hair or mermaid waves. Maybe one supermodel looks okay with them in an editorial shoot. Everyone else looks like they slept with their hair in bobby pins or stuck their finger in a light socket and didn't wait long enough. (Enjoyed the video Charlotte!)

charlotte tilbury pillow talk lipstick and lip liner kit was my very first charlotte tillbury product. the liner wasvery difficult to get it to lay down pigment. and the lipstick lasts an hr at best!
I think tubing mascaras are not supposed to transfer under the eyes as regular mascara would. I do have a transfer problem with my mature skin and hooded eyes but I don’t see a big difference with the tubing one- it’s a bit better when I use a tubing mascara but not a huge difference. ❤
Now I might never see Charlotte's dog?! I've waited years for a sneak peek, I've heard him, I think he's big... But I'm sad now cause I love a pet in any video!! 😁🤣

💯. Exactly the same for me!
My issue with Pat McGrath is her mothership pallets. They are expensive and yet when you have everyone she’s put out and none of them have a match ivory throughout the collection … not one light, Matte shade… Yet, dark burgundy, and Reds are throughout every mothership Pallet therefore such a waste of pan space, and money …
I love using a hydrating primer on my dry skin. Even with skincare, my face isn't a good canvas for makeup because most foundations suck out the moisture from my skin. Primer acts like a barrier between skin and product, so I also believe in using both skincare and primer for skin prep. Nice video!!
Le Labo The Noir 29 is my absolute favourite. I had a sample and had a gentleman ask me what I was wearing, said it smelled amazing. I went and bought everything in the range, no one had ever said that to me before.
Yes, more mini's please!!! I also especially love mini nail polish too.
My unpopular opinion is that Pat McGrath collections are sometimes lazy, cash grabs or underwhelming. Not always, but I can’t forgive her for slapping stickers on top of overstock Midnight Sun palettes and saying “here’s my Star Wars collection.” Literally colourpop had more interesting Star Wars collabs (mandalorian palette, Star Wars and Darth Vader palettes)
I learned from working at Mac that 85% of your foundations are equal to the same as concealers. In my kit I don’t even buy foundations, just a bunch of concealers. So that’s your half size foundation trick. Buy one corrector or brightened, one skin tone concealer and maybe a dark concealer for contour or bronzing. Done. A bunch of foundations are not needed. Enjoy your videos.
I am not understanding the hype about Lisa Eldridge’s lip products either. Have purchased some and it’s nothing special at all, just an average lip liner and gloss and lipstick. Definitely not a stand out products… but just good

I agree. I like the glosses but in all honesty I think the nyx butter glosses are comparable and can get them for around £6. As for the lipsticks, the shades don't look anything like the online swatches and I'm yet to find a colour that suits me.
Don’t hate me but I’ve realised that Lisa Eldridge products generally are not for me. I had almost all the lipsticks (not just matte ones), lipglosses, liquid eyeshadow and went ahead and bought two of the eye palettes when she released them recently too but just can’t get on with any of it. In fact I just recently decluttered most of the lippies and think the eyeshadow might be going the same way 🙈

I have one of her lipsticks and lip pencils and I was not impressed-too dry
I wanted to try a tubing mascara, ( I agree it is hard to know because it is not written on the tube) I had a feeling they were also more available in the USA and the uk than in Europe. But I finally got one ( the Victoria Beckham beauty mascara is a tubing formula). And guess what? I ❤️ it! ( it gives not that full on drama, but it gives length and separation and a good amount of definition. And it is really easy to remove, so nice with my sensitive eyes)
I agree about the skin care being better than primer, I have intensely oily skin and since I've being using good skincare and routine I don't use any primer, only setting spray. My makeup lasts all day and applies beautifully. BUT I am interested in trying a primer one of these days again to see if changes anything. I feel for myself personally less products on my face equals to longer wear with my makeup. Setting spray is ALWAYS a must under my makeup.
I got to the end can’t remember everything I was going to comment on (I’m old)… but I will say I think WA reformulated her eye pods and the new ones that came in the holiday set are amazing. So much easier to use than the originals. I tend to use a tubing mascara on my bottom lashes because I have issues with transfer. I used to use the Mac Gigi black lash and now use Victoria Beckham. They don’t build as much as traditional mascara, but … no transfer. And easy removal.

Hi Charlotte!! First of all, thanks for addressing my question (I'm freezingelf on IG). I agree with you, if you want to cover every imperfection, you probably need full coverage products, but I guess I could have expanded a but more about whan I meant. The thing about "flawless skin finish" that bothers me the most is people on social media going on an on about how flawless their skin looks just because they have applied at least 3 layers of full coverage foundation and patted on powder foundation to set it all. Of course theirs skin has no flaws! LOL But in real life, in person, their skin appearance is another story for another day.
I agree with the opinion on Le Labo. After hearing Santal 33 everywhere, I ordered a sample set. All of them were distinctly average and I actually disliked Santal 33. Baccarat Rouge 540 hype on the other hand - mmmmm! I love it!
Charlotte, actual pissin myself at the pet/children response🙌🏻😛🤣🤣 Honestly, you cheer me right up even though I’m not a big commentor, please know you are one hilarious, fantastic woman🙌🏻🥰💞 xx
Lisa Eldridge really does have the best lip products....mainly because the shades are so appropriate. I LOVE her Velvet lip sticks...but they are too drying for my lips...so the fix? Mac Lip Prep....and THANK GOODNESS , matching liner and then the lipstick. And BONUS, i add the matching Lip Gloss. She is a genius for making a whole 'kit' with matching liner, gloss and Velvet lipstick. They also stain so well...... that you can just pat some in..put a light gloss over it...and make it as light or dark as you want. Lisa Eldridge, Victoria Beckham Beauty and Chanel... my holy grails!!

I have thoroughly enjoyed this episode, not laughed this much in ages 🤣
You’re the first one I’ve seen wear Fire Rose on here. So sad that I missed out on that palette. Stunning eye look.
I initially got WA eye pod in Tabac in a Cult Beauty advent and its not like any other texture I’ve come across (putty like). It’s gives a subtle light wash of colour (perhaps this the issue), I find once it’s been on your eyelid for a bit and warms up via your skin temp, it’s very pretty. I agree, it is awkward to get out of the pot with fingers and you do have to dig your brush in a fair bit. Can’t explain, I just weirdly really like them (I’ve also got Le Nuit set) … mind you I prefer a tinted moisturiser to foundation, so they may be better suited to those who are minimalist when it comes to everyday with a no makeup, makeup look 👍🏽😊
Mel influence is still being felt ❤ I found your channel through the makeup mystery box exchange you did!
I do sometimes find high street makeup exciting. I have discovered a new range of MUA eyeshadows that is incredibly cheap but has the most beautiful metallic shimmers. Their five pan palettes are very reminiscent of Natasha Denona minis.
Your videos are always fun but these are especially fun! I have a LOT of makeup and was trying to think what unpopular opinions I might have - the only one I can think of off the top of my head. The Tower 28 mascara……EVERYONE raves about it in the beauty community so…..I bought it and it does nothing for my lashes. It’s nice, it performed well, it was ok but there is no wow factor for me and I feel like I’m the only person on the planet who doesn’t love it and this is a safe space for me to say that out loud lol 😂 Smiles from across the pond🇨🇦
I too am tired of the "Pillow Talk" label. It's named too much in too many products. The name is to me, now, mundane. Try the Chanel foundation please and thank you! Thank you Charlotte!
Definitely get a ultra le teint sample that would be fab to see ❤😊 it was my wedding foundation it lasts so well all day without touch ups and I don’t find it too matte (I don’t like matte foundations I like glow- it isn’t very glowy but definitely luminous) ❤ Love your videos xx
I love some fragrances in products, but if it's something that directly touches skin it either needs to be subtle or there needs to be an unscented option, too. My skin can handle anything (i loved the peach scented line from TF) but i know others can't.
That was a fabulous unpopular opinion video! Really enjoyed it. Just goes to show that we all love different things and have different experiences with products. Thank you Charlotte 🥰😘

I love the Dior Super Potent Serum foundation. Great, for dry/normal skin. The best foundation I have tried from Dior.

Every brand and every person will take criticism because some people just live to hate or bash someone or something. I love the staying power of matte lipsticks, but with a gloss over them. The Guerlain Meteorites has a fragrance that reminds me of the April Violets perfume by Yardley of London that I was LOVING in my early adult years! I wish I could still find it! I love these videos! Your sense of humor slays me.....every time! 😂
Loved the video, so interesting, thanks so much dear Charlotte, and looking amazing as always!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 Being 52, having more sensitive eyes now, i gave away almost all my PMG/ND/SG palettes. But now, Pat has a liquid shadow that does NOT fly into my eyes and i just love it!!!! Why hating Pillow Talk....i was a bit Pillow Talk tired, but understood the last years more and more that it's a brand in a brand indeed. What i would love to see from CT, is doing such a good 2.0 version with the Original Pillow Talk quad. She CAN do it, i hope she does!!! What is flawless? So personal. When i smash Suqqu quad 117 on my eyes (have sort of hazel/khaki eyes), i don't have to think, i blend here and there, and it's maybe not flawless, but elegant colours and shine, love their formula so much!!! What is flawless foundation, yes depends on the skintype, for me a bit dry and sensitive. I think i use my Cle de Peau matte foundation in the glass bottle the most, sometimes mixed with the more radiant/natural one from them. Also love others like all Chantecaille foundations. But because of certain fragrance or lavender oil (TF) i cannot handle, lots of them i have to let go.The pet question, i respect everybody, really! But love to see pets!!! Thanks Charlotte, have a wonderful day!!!😘😘😘😘😘😘
ugh you have the best honesty !
The Chanel Le Teint foundation was too drying on my normal/dry skin. Glad it was a sample.
Love watching you Charlotte great video as always 💕
I finally saw Natasha Denona in Barcelona. I don’t know why anyone would buy hers, when they could get Catrice 5 palettes that seem identical
Unpopular opinion: I don't think LE is worth the hype anymore. I was one of the loyal ones to buy a bunch from every collection for years, just waiting by the clock for access to buy. But her releases now feel repetitive and lack creativity. It feels more like a cash grab now than inspired products from a world-class makeup artist. With her last few releases, I can't be bothered nowadays. But I'm a sucker and think she is fantastic so I'll love my pile of lippies and keep looking at every drop hoping for something new. Anyone else disappointed with LE? (Also, the fact you can't store the lipsticks side by side due to the magnets drives me nuts!)
Personally I like the Westman Atelier eye pods. They're small and expensive for what they are but I think they're beautiful.
Have you tried Le Labo's The Matcha 26? It's a relatively new scent, I tried it on at an airport counter when I was traveling, could not stop smelling my arm for 3 days.
Only 2m in and I def agree about PML. People hate on that brand so much. I don’t buy everything, but I also don’t feel compelled to get upset when there’s a repeat release I don’t want. 🤷🏾♀️ And yea… I also find ND a little boring… but I always like the looks I create with her palettes… boring, but looks so good 😬

I love these types of videos and seeing the debate and conflicting views, I agree with a lot of your opinions. As for Pat McGrath, their crappy customer service and super slow shipping has made me more biased to criticize them more, especially as they are so expensive as well, that any minute flaw just looks so much more inexcusable than if a cheaper brand did the same because you pay so much. There is this higher expectation. Like CT and ND are cheaper. I've never tried Lisa Eldridge before but am curious to try the lipsticks to see what they are like, since you like them so much.
I bloody love you Charlotte. Your sense of humour is exactly what makes me chuckle 😃. I agree about the wind. I've been known to swear at the wind. I get a serious rage on too 😆. I sure miss Mel and her videos
Have you tried Dior Prestige foundation? I love it, I’m surprised not many people mention it.
I have two of the WA eye pods (Tabac and Champagne) and they're gorgeous. I think maybe people don't like them because they're not super impactful? They're a lovely wash of subtle color that can be built up, and the formula is really, really good. I'm more into "in your face" colors, but use these a lot when I'm either going for something more neutral or want subtle shimmer. They're pretty on-brand for the whole line.
I also hate CT cream bronzer but love the Chanel
So do I love scented makeup 😄

I agree with you that you never know what a tubing mascara is, but I find if it never comes off my eyes without a lot of work it seems to be a tubing mascara
I agree on the Pat McGrath comment. She gets a lot of hate also for prices. The same people that complain for the price of a mothership are fine with the prices of Tom Ford or Chanel quads, who also release the same colour story over and over. I do not like Lisa Eldridge products on anyone. Whenever I see influencers wearing them I always think they look like they are wearing drugstore products. Considering her ties to L'Oreal, that's probably even accurate. I also find that good skincare works best for me than primer.

I think the price complaint is because PM has sales like 10 times a year. I bought something at 35% off over Xmas and a week later, it was 40% off 😂. Chanel and Tom Ford never do sales, so people accept it is what it is. But with PM discounting things all the time, it no longer makes sense to pay full price or buy anything at launch as full price now feels like a cash grab if you know it will be so much less in a few months.

@@lindsayhoffman2688 To me, Chanel and Tom Ford are much more money grabs than PML. Sales are an opportunity, not something to be offended by. Nobody forces people to buy things at launch. Lisa Eldridge does the old "sold out" strategy all the time, and people are still there playing. There is just this thing of needing to hate on something if somebody else does. It's like the whole Hourglass/Chanel comparison. Everybody is fuming because Hourglass needs more shades, but nobody is mad at Chanel. People just love hate trends, imo.

@@loytoco I’m not mad at any brand 😂. They can charge what they like and people can choose to pay or not. I’m just saying for me personally and probably a lot of other people, PM’s constant sales (seriously, I think she has more than any other brand, there is one right now after having had two different ones just this past December) means I will no longer pay full price for any of her products because I’m happy to wait. And when you know you can get it close to half off several times a year, the full price seems even higher by comparison. I do buy Tom Ford and Chanel from time to time. For me, it’s worth it, as I love what I have but I am also very selective….like I wouldn’t buy eyeliners, mascaras etc… that I can easily get elsewhere for much less but will instead choose something special that I know I will adore and use regularly, like the TF Nude Dip quad.). All makeup brands are kind of a cash grab really, with the markups and margins being so incredibly high. I just think PM gets the “hate” for her prices as you say moreso than other brands because she positioned herself as a luxury brand but the constant sales and discounts has tarnished that reputation a bit. (Not to mention recent launches where she put Star Wars stickers over older, unsold stock….it just doesn’t look great.). Chanel and Tom Ford type brands are always consistent in pricing and aesthetic so it’s harder to complain about something that’s been the same forever. You either love them and are a customer or you have no interest and pass them by but I don’t think there is any expectation/disappointment or feeling of connection to the brand the way people seem to with PM.

@@loytoco Fully agree that people love hate (and love) trends. Hourglass and Tarte got crucified for lack of shade range but nobody said anything about Dior, Chanel etc… who are much worse in that respect. Fenty was christened the leader paving the way for inclusive shade ranges when MAC has been doing that since the 90’s.
I was very surprised and sad to notice that I don't like Lisa Eldridge lipstick either. I have two, in two different formulas. The matte one is very dry and the color is shockingly different from what I expected from ordering online. It looked nothing like what I ordered, yet it was what I ordered. Way darker and way more cooltoned and it doesn't suit me at all. The other one is fine, nothing to write home about. I also have a lipliner, but that is in the same horrible color as the matte lipstick. That's three products, expensive ones too, and I hate two, and one is just fine. So no more Lisa Eldridge for me any time soon.
Thanks for sharing your unpopular opinion Charlotte! this was fun to watch but I'm still trying to process question at 16:29.

Same!😅
Chanel Ultra le Teint is a great foundation indeed.. I am all for mini makeup as well. It is quite annoying. I stopped buying makeup a few years ago just because I have so much already and they take forever to finish. Plus, every makeup line now is making everything bigger and bigger. I don't need an eyeshow paletter of 12 colors only to see another 12 color palette launched the following season. It is nice that we now can get mini mascaras of our favorite brands - travel size. Perfect! But what about the rest! Mini eyeshadows? Mini lipsticks? where are they? And stop making those foundation glass bottles so heavy. I don't want to pay for the bottle, I want to pay for the product. Enough already! There. I ranted. 😁😁😊😊

It’s amazing isn’t it- was my wedding day foundation ❤
You need to try Chanel Ultra Le Teint...
I agree with the comment about ND versus PM eyeshadow. I loved ND but now that I have 2 motherships I can’t go back. I still like my glam palette but I’m doubtful I’ll purchase any more ND.

And I feel like it’s easy to make PM shadows everyday friendly. Especially Divine rose 1. That’s my office go to!

Funny as I am the opposite. I would reach for Natasha denona over pat mcgrath 9 times out of 10. I much prefer the ND formula and I just can't get on with the PMG special shades.

You should wear what makes you feel happy. Who cares if it’s not perfect? I say: « Simply have fun! »
Tubing mascara doesn’t come off with eye makeup remover or cleansing balms. You remove it with warm water & gently rubbing you’re lashes. I’m no expert but love trying new products. I have a Beauty Pie new tubing mascara arriving this week which I’m looking forward to trying. Thxx & love you’re vlogs xxx
