Such a replayable album. Beats are fantastic. Taking Trips is a song I play all the time. The musical setting of this album is so strange in a calming way. It kinda feels like walking around an abandoned amusement park while listening to a Walkman. Thats the best way I can describe it. Also the sample on Lakewood mall is so amazing to me, really wished he made it into a song😭

Lost my mind when I saw him perform it live. The song has an alternative outro that he hasn’t released and is impossible to find in good quality online. Still one of my most played tracks every year
Bob you have to do Ramona Park Broke My Heart

“Hanging on a corner same as hanging from a ceiling fan” 🔥
The one problem I've always had with Vince Staples projects is the consistency from track to track. This album has no misses and is therefore his best album in my opinion
This project blew my mind. The production was simple but amazing. Vince's rapping is slick, he'll say the darkest stuff in such a calm and dope way. Like the lines just sit with me.
Love you bob but you gotta make more time for Romona Park. That shit is gold
Sundown Town is one of my favorite Vince tracks ever. Easily one of his best songs imo and I been listening to him for a long time.
At the end of "MHM" I think he meant to say "On the dead homies" which is a common saying in LA like "Word is bond" by NYC people back on the 90s. It's like "I swear on my dead friends" or "Take my word for it" or maybe "I swear, on God..." Oh and he was giving directions for the hood. What part of Long Beach is the hood in his area. Basically don't turn down those streets. 😂
Whoahhh double reactions!! Thanks Bob

Make that triple
Thought last night while listening to his new album how we need more vince reactions from you
Are You With That has been on repeat for the the past month.
Genuinely believe this is one of the most underrated projects of the 2020s. Just quality bangers throughout.
Paid In Full is referring to the movie w/ Cam’ron, Mekhi Phifer & Wood Harris.
Another great reaction, Bob 🔥. But when are you finally going to react to 4eva is a mighty long time by Big krit 🤔🤔. We been waiting bro 😂🥲.
still one of my favorite albums of the last decade. This Kenny production is just next level pairing with Vince
vince is one of the most underrated rappers of recent times. his consistency is a marvel to me
"The Apple & The Tree" has a slowed down version of the same melody used on the next track "Take Me Home". I know you're a Tool fan like myself so I'll say it kinda reminds me of how "Intermission" leads into "Jimmy" on Ænima. Same melody from the piano but sped up and then it's used by the guitar and bass but slower and obviously more elaborate.
Ramona Park is an extension of this album. I personally like it even more.. so good of a run these 2 together
man i listened to this every day after school for like 2 months straight in my sophomore year of high school. special album for me
You NEED to watch the video of Vince Staples doing a live performance of a few songs from this. Kenny Beats was on an instrument and Fousheé did her chorus.
one of my favorite albums of all time! so glad to see this
this album was my introduction to vince staples, came out shortly after i got into hiphop music and i heard someone talk about it a few days after it dropped and gave it a listen and it's still in rotation for me almost 3 years later, absolutely phenomenal work here
Vince Staples is literally the most underrated artist in hip hop. Artistically he doesn’t give a fuck what anyone thinks about him, and that gives the most authentic music, which is true art.
Another all time fav of mine. You're very right about the paranoia/apprehension aspect that you mentioned in "Sundown Town" (so far only at that point in the vid lol). He seems to be rapping from a time where he's fully made it out but also has never felt fully comfortable because of where he's came from. Hense that weird feeling of being even slightly on edge
This is it, this is my favorite Vince. ARE YOU WITH THAT?, TAKING TRIPS; that's all I need 🙏
my very first hiphop vinyl ❤
It became my favorite project of his. All songs are amazing. No skips ever. Great short album. Love it.
I remember shrooming to this album, one of my fave vince staples project lol
Kenny Beats and Vince are unstoppable. Says a lot that a most peoples favourite song varies. Take Me Home and Law Of Averages will be timeless imo
The tiny desk for this is amazing, definitely check it out
super fridays are truly the best kinda fridays 🔥
Vince is great at presenting 2 ideas in a song at once and intertwining them. Every part of his songs has 2 meanings and interpretations.
My favourite project from Vince. Fell in love with it on first listen, literally no skip
This self titled album and Ramona park broke my heart are classics!!!
"Vince Staples is underrated" --Indeed he is, Indeed he is. Such a good project!
Anyone not watching the Vince Staples show need to do yourselves a favor and smoke one n watch it. 💙
Great album, great video 💗
WHATS GOING ON RIGYD NOW!
Nah one of my favorite Vince Staples projects 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Vince staples!!! Been waiting for you to get into his stuff
This is my favorite album by Vince Staples, it has fantastic replay value
Kenny actually made the beat for "MHM" live on his stream so you could probably find a clip of it on youtube if you want to look into some of his creative process. Update: I found it, the title of the video is "KENNY BEATS - MAKING a quick HARD BEAT and PUT *PLAYBOI CARTI ACAPELLA" ON IT 🤯🔥 - LIVE (11/1/20) 💥🔥"
one of my favourite albums ever tbh, never not take an opportunity to praise it
Love THIS ALBUM it’s real introspective
i love this album, short enough to just listen whilst on a walk or something. Plus Kenny Beats is an amazing producer
Lets fucking go
Classic
Vince is so underrated. Also he’s one of the funniest dudes in the rap game
Vince is on an Amazimg run...
I love this album
I think later on you should listen to RAMONA PARK BROKE MY HEART it’s my favourite Vince project
When Vince says 'dead homies,' its not *usually* a literal term. Its shortform of "on the dead homies" which is like "on god" or "on my mom," just proclaiming to be truthful.
I feel Vince doesn’t get enough recognition. Great allbum!!
21:30 thought Bob was bouta go super outta pocket for a sec “No one ever really dies……ok…what about Vince’s friends???”
Are you planning on doing Summertime 06 ?
yayyyy
Vince’s best project imo
Under appreciated album imo
Definitely check out Denzel Curry’s album w/ Kenny Beats if you haven’t already. It’s called Unlocked and is a sonic ride of banger after banger.
Such a great project! It is probably in my top10 albums even tho it is totaly minimalistic.
Bob brain would explode if he heard a single ugly frank or nick f verse
Early again wow
big fish is one of the best too
Really great album as well, a lot more interesting sounds and delivery but this is a t3 Vince project for me
Dawn Fm!!
Day 42 asking bob to listen to MIKE - Burning desire
Check out the cave series by Kenny beats at least the Vince Staples episode its one of the funniest ❤
React to city morgue
bro skipped prima donna??!
Day 555 since the last brockhampton album reaction
Listen to snoop dogg debut
Hey bob can you please give PARTYNEXTDOOR (one of his first 3 albums), 6lack (Free 6lack), Donda from Ye, and blkswn by Smino
One of, if not one of, my least favorite Vince Staples albums, even though I love the guy's music.
