I don't know if anyone has pointed this out yet but Night Swan's real name being Leda is so perfect because in Greek Mythology Leda was a queen who was seduced by Zeus while he was in the form of a swan.

To add it up, her full name is "Leda Nox" (referring Annie Lennox from Eurythmics) has "nox" which is a Latin word for "night" which foreshadows Night Swan’s name. But after losing the song's right, they had to change her name to Leda to remove the reference to Annie Lennox.

Plot twist: The one that cheated was Leda/Nightswan with someone that introduce her to the dark flow. The Traveler tried to stop her and led to an accident and she could no longer dance ballet or missed an opportunity. She instead focused to being more powerfull than the traveler.

My theory : Leda and The Traveler were very happy, Leda loved ballet and thanks to that she controlled her Flow and opened portals, Leda had a child with another Coach and they had Cygnus (Beggin's coach who represented Eternix in the Eurovision season). And in real life "Cygnus" is a type of Swan and the coach also has a Swan on his cap. She also had Jack Rose with the Traveler, Leda hid Cygnus in hiding, Leda became famous thanks to her dancing and the power that her Flow had, Leda saw in dancing a way to make money, have fame and recognition something that had nothing in the human world, The Traveler didn't agree with that since he saw dance as a way to connect with others, because of the passion and happiness that his family gave him. But Leda don't think the same and they separated and Leda stayed with Jack, removing him from the Traveler's life. Leda went to look for the other Coach, Cygnus's father, but he also abandoned her for hiding her son and preferring to be with the Traveler and she left. took Cygnus, Leda was left with a feeling of hatred and resentment that she transmitted towards her Flow now "Dark Flow" and became obsessed with perfection taking out her hatred on Jack, who inherited her passion for dancing and now singing, now called "Night Swan" saw this as a tool to begin her plan to return the Danceverse to a perfect place where no one can hurt her again and where everyone pays attention and has the respect she always wanted, and Cygnus who He still loved his mother and wanted her to feel proud of him. Night Swan manipulated him into building him his tower, all his weapons and his ship. Night Swan also preferred Jack Rose because he was key in his plan to present his heir in the artistic field, gaining attention and making everyone go see him at the concert to convert them and reach more danceverses and Cygnus appearing in the Eurovision season to ask his mother for forgiveness and tell him what he did wrong.

About Sweet Dreams and other maps lost in Beta Hell: I feel like they aren’t making maps without knowing if they will have the song or not. Maps are so expensive to make, so I don’t think they’d be that careless. I imagine something falls through with these maps unexpectedly. Sweet Dreams is owned by UMG and they’ve been cracking down on licensing recently so they may have pulled it. If they were able to use the song, they would have used it!! It’s obviously the preferred choice!!

I actually didn't know it was owned by UMG. Knowing they pulled a lot of music off of TikTok for a while, it makes sense that they are very controlling about their licensing. Dina theorized that because of all the leaks Sweet Dreams got, honestly probably the most well-known map that's been leaked recently, UMG got mad about it being "public" before release, and pulled Just Dance's right to use it. That theory makes the most sense to me but there are so many other factors that we might not know about.

the darkest hour just sounds like there's two tracks playing at all times 😭

What annoys me the most is that Darkest shadow map conveys her story so well thru the enviroment and dance that the song being so literal just feels like hitting the viewer over the head with it

I believe it’s not chronologically possible for Wanderlust and Jack Rose to be brothers. If we are to believe Jack Rose and Wanderlust are around the same age, that would mean the traveler would have “touched hands” with Shia around the same time the traveler met Leda. But the traveler is way older by the time he got with Shia. In Leda’s second song, we do see her older, but we also see her alone. It also seems like she was focusing on her dance career. We also can believe that Leda became Night Swan by the end of that song. In Jack Rose’s song “locked out of heaven” we see a shadow of Night Swan while Jack is still a child, meaning she probably was Night Swan for Jack’s entire life. But, That’s Just a Theory!

so ive just went back to your lore video for the 2024 story and just realised that it didnt just say "sara and night swan have something in common", it also states "jack rose and wanderlust also have something in common"......now im starting to think that maybe the traveller and leda did a little more than dance and hold hands. I THINK IVE CRACKED THE CODE: cygnus might be the son of leda and the traveller because cygnus means "swan" and in the dance you can see swan tower in the back, also cygnus looks older and would probably be the correct age, also he has blue hair which links to the traveller. And the name leda also links to swans, its all adding up THE THING JACK ROSE AND WONDERLUST HAVE IN COMMON IS THEIR SHARED HALF-BROTHER

No. In the beginning of Save Your Tears, he's coming out of a portal with Last Friday Night's background. He was absolutely looking for Si'ha.

Whenever I dance to Darkest Hour I sync the map with sweet dreams and mute my TV😂😂

My theory: In the map 'Darkest Hour', this looks like Leda is in the danceverse Eternyx and the heads separating with all the factory buildings of smoke in the background I think is her trying to achieve absolute perfection by manufacturing heads and bodies that are perfect and neve miss a step, like in creating robots, like she did for her own army later. In the map 'Murder on the Dancefloor', Leda was drawn in by the Traveler, who, throughout the map, seemed to teach her how to utilise the Flow to open portals to other Danceverses. This method Leda may have stayed with the Traveler to try and enhance such powers or for her to find a way to not return to Earth due to her finding new powers that she can use to achieve perfection and spread to others. I assume that Leda played Just Dance and the Traveler called out to her. By finding such powers, she must have been elated and not wanted to leave this new place of magic, so she stays with the Traveler to explore more Danceverses. Then she finds her one true Danceverse, a graceful place like her where she discovers the act of ballet and comes intrigued, and later devoted. As she is cast for not being the perfect ballerina, she then turns angry and furious, gets a new makeover and travels to Eternyx in hopes of manufacturing and creating the perfect ballerina or robot, and then later learns to use such power more that she can create her own army. She then finds a home in Eternyx and creates her lair.

My theory with them touching hands ia not them making jack rose but the traveler giving some of his powers to leda beacause she was only able to make portals after they touched hands , but thats just my teory😅 (Im a jack rose and wonderlust shipper so i dont what them to be brothers😂) And also clementine also had the purple aura thing does that mean they also have powers

Maybe the holder of the rights to "Sweet Dreams" (which is RCA) heard about the leaks and rescinded the agreement with Ubisoft while the map was already in-production. "But what about Murder on the Dance Floor?" you ask? The record label for the song is Polydor so they were probably just fine with the leak.

If jack rose is the night swan and travellers son, would that make wanderlust and jack related ? And everyone is shipping them 😭😭

If I had a nickel every time the characters from a ship that I like end up being related I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice

17:42 Well you actually answered it yourself that yes, they actually make the map first and then ask for the right. That's why there are so many songs that's still hanging in the beta vault and never see the light of the day. But if they are too eager to release the map for some reason (like this one because of the lore event) they usually switch it to an original song they made. Which doesn't work out really well.

Unpopular opinion: Darkest Hour sounds good; its quite gritty sound works with the map (and works better than Sweet Dreams). I would love to see a map with Sweet Dreams and Dark Swan. But I danced to Darkest Hour before the leak and such. Maybe that's why I find it works.

My theroyyyyy:: in the Darkest hour you could see towards the end where the background head of hers started glitching. what if that was her becoming stuck in the danceuniverse? like im pretty sure in the song it said "gave up my dreams" what if that indicated her dreams outside of hte danceverse, meaning she gave up all of that to be with the traveler and maybe something happened and thats why she dragged Sara into the dance verse because the travelers kid, did it once but sara got to go back so as revenge in a way she pulled sara into the danceverse to get her stuck there. Afterall, sara is currently under the control of NightSwan. Or if we go off of the theory of cheating, what if she gave up her life to be with the traveler and finds out he cheated and is now stuck there because of the decision and she could see it beginning to happen with sara and wanderlust. thinking wanderlust grew up like his dad, what if sara chooses the same and decided to stay with wanderlust if he had brought her back? What if she had good intentions with pulling her into the danceverse to prevent inevitable heartbreak. there is alot of what ifs in this comment but my mind strays in ever direction

1) I think Leda stayed in the Dance Verses because a lot of people she knew on Earth constantly put pressure on her to be and do better as a Ballerina. She felt excited about being somewhere where she could be herself and be surrounded by people who actually appreciate her (even managed to fall in love and have kids), but deep down she just wanted to show up everyone who put all that pressure on her back on Earth. 2) Even though Leda felt more at home in the Dance Verses, She may have suffered from PTSD incised nightmares where she’s still being pressured by everyone around her as well as constantly hearing their ridiculing voices even after she woke up telling her to “Do better! Do better! Do better!” eventually causing her to do the same to everyone around her and eventually causing her Flow to become corrupted as well. In the end, she ended up losing the man she loved, kicked one of her sones out when he was done building everything she wanted him to, and is continuing the cycle of abuse with her second son Jack by not just contuisly telling him to “Do better!”, but she likely also gave him false hopes that she wouldn’t throw him out too if he did what she said.

I actually thought of a similar theory to both one and two. In a Q and A with the Lore Master, she said that Night Swan/Leda never got support from family when she was younger. So here’s my theory: Leda tried to achieve her dreams on Earth but her unsupportive family crushed her dreams (most likely sabotaging a performance), Leda and her family all got into a huge fight and she told them that she never wants to see them again for as long as she lived. A few days later, the Traveller contacted Leda and asked her if she wanted to visit the Danceverse and during that visit he taught Leda how to create portals. However when the Traveller opened a portal to Earth Leda closed it a decided to stay in the Danceverse and fulfill her dreams there (and she also told the Traveller about what her family did). Unfortunately the PTSD given by Leda’s unsupportive family prevented her from preforming, then one day she found a book about the Dark Flow and she kept it. The Dark Flow was what drove Leda to madness, caused a falling out between her and the Traveller and it destroyed his Disco Ball.

I dont know if it would make sense for jack to be the travelers son due to his hair and the fact that he would probably have portals or whatever and im guessing wanderlust and jack are the same age and jack was a kid when night swan was evil and i doubt wanderlust was already born a teen/adult

The Theory I put on Tumblr but wanna bring here in hopes of discussion: (this is also LONG AF so take a couple of breaks or get snacks) The Traveler might actualy be Jack's dad (or Cygnus's dad??????) I decided to make a post because this has been in my head for a day and a half. So with "Murder on the Dancefloor'' being released and people being scared for WanderRose (Wanderlust x Jack Rose), I started to ponder if Jack really could be Traveler's son, and I REALLY think it is possible after realizing some implications in maps. The first implication is cloning, how? Well, I think Jack can make clones of himself based on the map "Treasure"( also/maybe "Locked out of Heaven" because of the mirrors {not all of the mirrors would have seen Jack so it might be clones in the mirror but it also might just be his imagination that there are mirrors there as well} "Canned Heat" may also be a possibility because of the mirrors we see, not all of them would see Jack, it could also be just a stylistic choice{We have to question everything because we aren't given all the lore}). We know this map is an illusion but why would she make up his ability to use magic/flow? When it gets to the part where they are on the big stage the clones behave and look differently, the clones no longer look like an illusion (mirror/smoke effect), and the 4 clones all act differently from one another which makes me think that this is something that he also can do, he appears to have a magic staff (Normal Jack Rose also has this) or he uses his flow to make the staff appear and disappear. Who else can make clones? The Traveler and Si'ha Nova. Night Swan has never shown the ability to make clones only illusions with her magic, so if he does have the ability to clone who did he get this from? It had to be from a Deity/Sorcerer who knows how to use flow so well that they can clone and Jack inherited or was taught it by them before Leda took him and left. Not even Wanderlust who is the son of Traveler and Si'ha, has the ability (from what we've been shown) and he's the prince of dancerverse, a deity. I know a lot of people don't think the Traveler can be Jack's dad because they look nothing alike however Jack doesn't look anything like his mom either other than hair color (I used a color finder for Jack's hair color and it appears to be Rosso Corsa which can be made with Magenta (Leda's hair color) and Cerulean Blue (The Traveler's hair color which is a cyan and cyan helps make red) (other colors are used also to make red) Not only that, if anything I think he has more in common (outfit colors) with the Traveler, he has purple, and gold accents in his outfit which tie in with the Traveler meanwhile Jack has magenta feathers which tie in with young Leda not Night Swan. In all other instances, Jack has a gold glove on his main hand, in treasure his main glove hand is now purple and his other hand is gold (Night Swan changed some of his colors and reversed his outfit so he looked like her instead of him). What do the Traveler, Wanderlust, and Jack have in common? They all have a gold glove on their main hand, Si'ha Nova does have gold on her main glove but the glove is mostly purple. This is a link (in the main story) between the three, all the signs were there the whole time. When it came to the hand part in the map "Majesty" Jack probably was the only one who could save Wanderlust since they share the same ancient flow magic (also because they could be related). Wanderlust also doesn't really look like his parents either (he has black hair), the only thing he has in common (other than outfit colors) is the fact that he has blue skin. So the argument that Traveler can't be Jack's dad because of hair color isn't really valid. I also saw people say that it can't be possible that Traveler is Jack's dad because when they touched hands there was no magic flare like when Traveler and Si'Ha did. Well, I have a counter against that, Leda and Wanderlust didn't have a magic/flow flare because Leda didn't have magic/flow at that moment she only got magic from him a couple seconds afterward, They probably would have had a magic flare If they did the holding hands gesture after she got powers, which they could do the magic baby thing too actually, like how Wanderlust came to be. Overall I think it is VERY likely that they are brothers. It makes sense storyline-wise because it seems like even though they just met each other it looks like there's already a connection between them. Also it explains why Jack is resistant to his mother in ways that the others cannot, he's half-human but also part not human (humans are resilient to flow, it took longer for Sara to get captured) he isn't like the others which is why she didn't try to turn him she has to coerce him, (Jack may also be part deity? I can't remember if Traveler was just a protector of dancerverse). It makes sense that Leda and Traveler would start a relationship because of the map "Save your tears” the lyrics are giving relationship/toxic relationship struggles, Traveler and Si'ha want to be together but at the same time don't, they push and pull each other. So Leda and Traveler may have had a magic baby together during the time when Si'ha and Traveler were on and off again, {before syt remix maybe} (the timeline is a little messed up because in Motdf he is obviously younger but has disco ball but he made that for Wanderlust, unless every dancerverse protector has a disco ball in which case he might have met Leda before Si’Ha). Before Night Swan had been consumed by the feelings of needing to be perfect and taking Jack Rose with her to Eternyx and changing her name to Night Swan. I may update this with more information if I realize/missed something I want to talk about. And I will probably answer any questions that are given. Also Just Dance Team did you really have to do the ship that dirty? XD (if Cygnus is the son between Leda and Traveler it still feels inherently weird to ship WanderRose even if there not really related, Jack might have brother that is the son of the traveler who is also THE FATHER of Wanderlust. I fon't think I could be with someone if I found that out about us).

I actually think the name Leda hints more toward Cygnus being the dad since his name literally means "swan". And "Beggin" and "Darkest Hour" look like they both take place in Eternyx. I think she dated the Traveler when she was younger, but they had a falling out at some point about her perfection obsession/misuse of power, Leda ended up in Eternyx where she was corrupted and met Cygnus, she manipulated him into falling for her so she could use his machines to help fuel her evil schemes, and they had Jack and another kid we haven't met yet. And the Traveler gets together with Si'ha Nova after he falls out with Leda, and they raise Wanderlust to become the "chosen one" who will save them all from Night Swan...but ironically the pressure for this alienates him from his parents and allows Night Swan to corrupt him, leading to Jack Rose currently being the only one that can save them right now.

If anyone notices during Dance with the night swan when wanderlust is dancing in canned heat we see sarah but she is wearing leda clothes when she first entered in the dance universe . Maybe she is sarah mom and she abandoned sarah to be a full time dancer in just dance?

My theory: Leda after coming into the dance verse was wkth the traveler. She wandered off on her own, hence why we see traveler in tgif looking for her, but he meets siha nova instead and falls for her. Leda is crushed, and on top of that, she is cast out for being not a good ballerina. Perhaps she went to the circus verse with Aqueda and it changed her. And brought out her inner insecurities, making her vain and evil ( this idea comes from how in Leda's darkest hour the masks in the bsckground remind me of the doors in the Aqueda song.) Perhaps going throigh the circus verse corrupted her.

I guess that Sweet Dreams fell through because the license holders changed the rights last minute as a power move, because rich white men gonna rich white men. But they're really shooting themselves in the foot, long-term. I can't tell you how many songs I've found through JD that I wouldn't normally give the time of day, or wouldn't be exposed to, or wouldn't like, but the absolute banger dances get me liking the song through brute force repetition, and now I'm obsessed and listen like 30 times a day.

Something that Ubisoft could have done was release 3 songs the original 2 songs Murder on the dance floor, Sweet Dreams (although leaked), and their own song Darkest Hour. It would’ve showed us her mental state going from a young bright eyed ballet dancer to a cold manipulative woman.

I hope you are feeling better today! I have to say though that while you were dancing you did seem to be enjoying it. Some great maps for real!

My theory is that the reason why Leda became the Night Swan is because of the fact she didn’t go back to earth She spent her time learning about the just dance world and realised that the flow equals to power, and with her human knowledge about the stars that you achieve with doing each dance, she spiralled into wanting perfection Her and Sara are alike because they are both from our world, but Sara did go home. So Night Swan kidnapped Sara to also turn into a version of her, planning trapping Sara in the Just Dance verse forever. Just so Sara can spiral into perfection too

I've never seen the version where sweet dreams is actually playing, But I think darkest hour is okay. It's definitely not a banger like tainted love and swan lake, but still okay. I hate those who try to call Murder On The Dance Floor a lesser version of Can't Stop The Feeling cause to me it's pretty clear that the map is supposed to be mirroring that one, but showing how different Wanderlust chose to show Sara the world compared to Leda. And of course Wanderlust never taught Sara to make portals and Sara willingly went back home unlike Leda. I also think the reason some people say the "romance" can't be seen well between Leda and the Traveller, I think that is a bit on purpose too. That their romance wasn't nearly as deep as with Nova is shown.

my theory for why jack rose COULD be the traveler's son, since siha nova and the traveler both can control large amounts of flow, and since wanderlust was born from siha nova, the large amounts of flow combined to make a child with the power to control flow, just like wanderlust's parents. however, IF the traveler and leda made jack rose, the traveler is the only one who can control the flow/make portals, and leda has just started to control flow (and also leda isnt a celestial being), that could be the reason why jack was born without the power to create portals/control the flow. maybe if jack practiced how to control the flow like mihaly, he could be able to open portals, but thats just my theory.

I have a theory! So I believe The Traveler and Leda fell in love as she came into the Danceverse and she said she would leave her world behind to be with him. However there was a bad breakup and he ended up with Si’ha Nova and they had Wanderlust. This infuriated her because she left her world, her life, her dreams behind for him, and now he’s moved onto someone else. So she wants to take her ex down by enslaving his son, and take over the Danceverses.

My theory is the traveler IS jack rose’s dad because first off in the story mode lore video the lore guardian said that jack rose and wanderlust did have something in common. And night swan probably never told jack who his dad was because night swan knew that if he didn’t want to take on her legacy then he would just run to his dad’s.

Yes the original song isn't the best but A. they had to make it in time for the event and match it to the beat and moves, B. at least we get the cool map instead of it being scrapped entirely (and fans can put SD over it), and C. having original lyrics means there's more lore hints.

i dont know where else to comment this because its a bit random. jd17: dont let me down with two girls dressed in i think school uniforms. the map was in my recommended and i watched it for the first time maybe 3 months ago. i could be reading too much into this, and its kind of an old map that may not have or need a story behind it, but i cant help but think that there could be a small connection to the lore. what were the coaches in dont let me down trying to do? could they have been trying to summon someone? or did they somehow gain flow related powers? its a really cool map and i wish there was some context behind it.

My theory: Leda is a wannabe pro-dancer and to help her The Traveler invited Leda into the game. Showing her how to make portals so she can learn all kinds of dances. This is where they fell in love. Leda got pregnent but they were young and The Traveler left. Leda had the baby, Jack Rose. She was heartbroken. This made her hate The Traveler. Then she found out that The traveler got in a relatoinship with Si'ha nova and that they had a son, Wanderlust. What her end plan is and why? Not sure. This makes Jack and Wanderlust half brothers* (thanks @gretagoogames)

Considering we now have proof that the coaches age, I doubt my original conclusion that Jack and Wanderlust were half-brothers, cuz they’re roughly the same age. But we don’t know anything about Cygnus, except for a loose Night Swan connection…

So for licensing sweet dreams and I am by means no expert it’s probably something similar to how musicals work, which is even if it’s old if it was or is still popular it’s gonna be more expensive because a lot of people want the rights to use the song. The same could be said for sweet dreams, they could’ve had the rights, and the time ran out or the agreement changed and they didn’t want to re-buy it cause it was too expensive for one event. JD might re but the rights two the song in 2025 where more people are gonna play the game that might not JD+

Tina talked about this, think of an album song getting leaked, worst that can happen is that the release delays, this is not the case since it's a collab between a game corpo and a music label, if the music label sees the contect being leaked before the date acorded in the contract they pull the plug on JD and leave them with two options, leave the map as a beta scrapped, or doing what they did with Darkest hour and You can Dance, literally leaks kill the game by making music labels break contracts
