In my opinion, Jugraj, Mohammed Raheel & Araijeet should have been in the final 16. Jugraj would have been a good support to Harmanpreet in the PC battery. All in all, I think he contributes more to the team than Jarmanpreet. Mohammed Raheel is a crafty player and is also a good field goal scorer. He should have been in the squad. Araijeet showed improvement in the recent FIH PRO League games. Besides he can also take drag flicks.

Agree totally. Sharpness in execution, speed and peak fitness is needed in addition to basic trapping and ball control skills. Unless such youngsters are given chances at Olympics, we cannot build the future of Indian Hockey

Shamsher, Vivek Prasad, Mandeep and Lalit should have been dropped and replaced with young blood since they have not been performing well recently. I agree with your view on Nilakanta. Players like Mohammed Raheel, Araijeet, and Boby Singh Dami could have been considered. Sad to see Karthi Selvam not featuring even in the 24 probables. Amit Rohidas has to train hard to be a back up for Harmanpreet for the drag flicks. Midfield is over dependent on Hardik and we need strong support for him. Gurjant is inconsistent and error prone. He needs to correct his mistakes

Yes as you mentioned all should come up with an extraordinary performance to have a chance on the podium and sad to see Karthi not even in the probables hope all the young players keep their morale high as they are the future if utilised properly 👍
