Thanks for returning to this wonderful, extremely underrated artist. All the performances of this song that are available on KZread, including the official music video, are great. Check them out when you have a minute. 😁 The Brothel should perhaps be a music video/live performance double reaction. Then there’s Darlings, Running to the Sea, The Silicone Veil, Slowly, Reincarnation, and on and on. As I think I mentioned last year, tons of styles and genres - from folk, to electronica, ballads, and scores.

Come over and I'll serve you our tap-water that we can drink because of lack of stuff in tap-water and creek water and river water. It is not what is in our water - it is what we do not have in our water - before we discuss a better theory of the current generation of female singer-songwriters that we have (perhaps linked to a egilitarian society and such things that started with a huge push in the 1970s (when I grew up), now having tricled down a couple of generations where "talentented girl" can be just that without fighting for their right to be that at the same time. In other words, they do not how to spend half their brain answering questions like "how does it feel to be a young girl with success?" as much as the older generation had to. This free up a whole lot of brainpower to just be a creative being. I think Billie Eilish is working off the same philosophy, by the way. She operates in a similarly free head-space. Thanks to a Madonna and even Bowie and Prince who almost symbolically used "gender" as shock-tactics to generate attention. Now girls are growing up being kind of "yeah I am a woman - next question" that frees up a lot of headspace because the war is won (while small battles still remains). In this regards, I wait for the "new" Kurt Cobain who did the same as a young man in the 1990s. Making poetry in music that crossed "gender-protest" as we see it today. Bo Burnham is sure at it from the "comedy" side of things over the last decade - to the point where he laid the gender (and age) thing inconsequential with his movie "Eight Grade" a few years ago. Anyhow - I'll serve you creek-water just to prove it is not what it is inside water that cause Norwegian females to be natural born existentialists for both women and men right now. I think it has to do with stuff happening 4 decades ago. We have a female prime-minister right now (that I disagree with). But I also grew up with a female prime minister almost 4 decades ago (that I also disagreed with). Policy or art and life became less "gendered". So that subplot stopped being "news" or "edgy" and thus freed up brains to be creative. Thus causing this wave of females sharing non-gendered POVs about being human.

You can “line-by-line” so many of her songs… Poses, poses, that's all you are to me Roses, roses, that's all you're offering me And oh I wish to God that the earth would turn cold And my heart would forget it's made of glass And all the pretty tulips would disappear And never disturb me again You gave me my very first gun I'll go out and hunt the hidden dome With white foxes, with white foxes Freeze Hunger, hunger, is the purest sin It is an empty church in a crowded bin I've wept and I've stumbled I fought and I craved for the gravy of your soul But all I want to do now is walk among The barren trees and fields of snow You gave me my very first gun I'll go out and hunt the hidden dome With white foxes, with white foxes Freeze Freeze My eye is my sanctuary My eye is my sanctuary My eye is my sanctuary My eye is my sanctuary

Ok buckle up I've got some reaction ideas. Susanne (you pronounce the final e as if Susannah) is unique - this is such a great song - I tend more towards studio versions of her songs just because they are all such a joy, the word I think describes her voice best is 'haunting'. Am a huge fan of her album Ten Love Songs which you need to listen to in its entirety (album reaction perhaps?) It's a bit more upbeat than youre used to, accelerate, fade away, kamikaze and delirious were the four singles with my personal favourite being Slowly. That aLbum is all about the mixture of love and pain and hate but it's much more poppy than what you have heard. The studio version of the song Silicon Veil is also beautiful and more in the area of those you already know. Eivør-truth live at studio bloch is just epic, she does a powerful lower register song which is a stunner it really is. . Hopefully you think I know what I'm talking about by now, so I'm putting in a curveball request for Little Mix , I see the version of secret love song part 2 that morrisette does so often and I think people have no idea whos song it was originally. They sang it on their BBC prog 'little mix the search', is on their channel or the BBC's. Can you give them some love and do that one? They sing it so beautifully I think it goes right into my top ten live performances - they deserve the exposure. All the best to ya! I

The reaction was good, but I think you should have used the studio version, or some of the other live versions around. This version had a bit of a fuzzy sound (likely because the venue isn't the best for live audio), and the tempo was a bit slow. It's good regardless, but I find the studio version even better than this one. 🙂
