The final fight is so insane because the fight is between a man who can’t die and the grim reaper equivalent in league. Just a battle for dominance over life and death

well, he CAN die when his ultimate "undying rage" (only runs for a few seconds and is strategically casted right before you would die which is why we see the methaphorical fight with the champion kindred which is the concept of death - the lamb which gives a peaceful arrow and the wolf who loves to hunt the ones resisting death) runs out but before that happens the best waifu of the season rescues her hubby.

Actually if you watch it again and read between the scenes Lamb starts to prepare an Arrow while Wolf struggles to get Tryn meaning Tryn slowly starts accepting death so yeah he can die as long as he gets put into a corner he isnt Olaf who was told he is literally immortal as long as he fights

From a storytelling perspective: The three stories are all tied to Kindred. They are the embodiment of death in the setting, Lamb (the Saytr like creature with the bow) represents acceptance of death, while Wolf (the wolf, obviously) represents the violent struggle against it. The song is Kindred reminding you that they are still there, death is never far away. The swordsman, Yasuo, closes his eyes as the arrows are raining down on him. In the tree line you can see Wolf's eyes, but Yasuo accepted death so Lamb's arrow found him instead. Someone else pointed out that in the scene with the two angels fighting a demon you can see wolf and lamb in the fire at the end, with Wolf rushing forward to violently end the demon's army (I still can't see Wolf in there, but thematically it does track.) Finally, the warrior at the end defies both Wolf and Lamb, with Lamb lowering her bow at the end as he is saved.

I saw a comment that said Aatrox actually repented to Morgana, acknowledging his sin as a mass murderer. Morgana's power make the target felt the pain they have caused to their victims, but she also felt this pain (that is why she is crying in pain since Aatrox's sin is just too much). I think lamb is just right for him.

@@joshep80 Aatrox can't die, he's an immortal who's soul is imprisoned in his sword normally or whenever he loses a host. He wants to die but can't and thus loathes everything living and seeks the destruction of everything to get death's attention. Kindred's appearance here is the only time they are not acting which IMO means that they can only watch his suffering (due to him being a demigod). The guy at the end (cant recall the name) was afflicted by Aatrox in the past and gained some of his immortality in the form of a blood rage state.

I love how Tryndamere's fight against Kindred is represented. While in his ultimate, he is literally fighting off death. Kindred IS death. Lamb being the gentle passing granted to those who accept that this is their time. Wolf being the frenzied end of those who fight to their last breath. Tryndamere should die here, and They know it. The battle around him fades away, and in place of his enemies he sees the Kindred. Every time he clashes with Wolf he is shrugging off blows from his enemies, and he feels the pain through The Wolf's teeth. Every time he swats away Lamb's arrow is him denying a moment where he could just lie down and pass gently, and he sees the choice in the Lamb's arrow. You can see Wolf's jaws start to close around Tryndamere as Ashe's arrows come over Lamb's shoulders to save him from the two enemies about to strike. When Ashe's arrows find their mark, Lamb lowers her bow, and wolf fades away. As Ashe approaches, the time where Tryndamere would die has passed, and Kindred vanishes. His power isn't just "Not Dying". He is a TOUGH man, but at his core he is as mortal as anyone else. His true power is awareness of death. He can See them. He can Fight them. Its poetic.

one small thing. his true power is not to see kindred but to be infused with bloodmagic by aatrox which makes him unkillable while also having to fight kindred every time hes close to death. He actually got an ingame quest killing kindred and in one of them (I think in kindreds quest) kindred says something like: "Lamb: He escaped us many times | Wolf: This is an endurance hunt"

Thank you! I'm so glad to see someone actually point this out! It's one of the few times I've ever seen an arranged marriage work out in fiction, and it makes sense why, so to see Tryndamere and Ashe's relationship portrayed in CGI finally made me so happy. There is so much supportive body language between them, I legit shed a few tears at it. Yes, I'm overly emotional about lore, that's my schtick.

You are right about the whole "I'm still here" vibe, keeping on fighting even when the jaws of defeat is seen. But the coolest thing with all that is the fight near the end, when the guy faced off the large ghost wolf and the masked archer. The Wolf and the Archer (known as lamb) are called Kindred, and in League of Legends lore, she is the aspect of death, the reaper. Kindred gives you a choice when you die, a swift arrow from Lamb's bow if you accept death, or you get hunted by the wolf If you refuse. What we saw was the warrior Literally fighting against death and I find that so awesome to see visually. There is more information in all of this videos but there is too much. Awesome video as always! 👍

Arcane is made by French studio Fortiche. They have a very unique style of blending 3d and 2d. They've done some cinematics for Riot as well (Rise, KDA POP/STARS, Get Jinxed etc.), but nowadays they are solely work on Arcane. These types of realistic CGI cinematics are made by different studios. They are usually mentioned in the description. Also, there are rumors that Riot might be working on a live action movie, but nothing was confirmed as of now.

Context: This cinematic is described as the "Past, Present, and Possible Futures" and if you noticed between each transition, there is very small image of Kindred as she comes to claim each soul's life, in the fire when Morgana burns Aatrox and her eyes in the faint woods as Yasuo accepts his death with the arrow being shot at him The first two characters you see (the angels) are Morgana (Purple Wings), and Kayle (White Wings) the twin Aspects of Justice. They're also sisters wielding two halves of their mother's blade (their mother was the previous Aspect of Justice). That scene takes place in the past of what we know of the lore right now, during a siege on a kingdom called Demacia, which happened in ancient times. To be an Aspect is kind of like being an avatar for a god. The person they're fighting is Aatrox, who, at one point, was also kind of an avatar for godly powers, but was corrupted by blood magic, and effectively "cursed" to never die. He now seeks the destruction of all existence in the hopes that he could finally rest. The last bit of the scene seems to be meant to show the differences in Kayle and Morgana's personalities. Morgana will sink to any low she needs to in order to do what is right, whereas Kayle sees herself above it all, looking at her position as an Aspect as far more important than it possibly is. Since this is the past, this is technically before Kayle and Morganna split and go separate ways on deciding how to deal Justice. But you can definitely tell Kayle is now mad at Morganna for using magic and two, throwing down there's mother sword. The second scene is of the future, in a small village in a land called Ionia. The old samurai is a character by the name of Yasuo, a master of a powerful wind technique. He's had a life of disgrace, and hardship, failing to save his master who taught him the wind technique, being blamed for his death, and then having to kill his own brother who hunted him down. Clearly, when he grows old, he finds a place in the small village, and lives there in peace until it's attacked, prompting him to take up a sword in defense of the people. The scene is pretty self-explanatory, but it's a very strong moment for League of Legends fans for sure. The final scene is my favorite. The whole video starts with the line "Tomorrow is a hope. Never a promise." This line is spoken by Lamb, one half of the character known as The Kindred. The Kindred serve as the Grim Reaper of the world of League of Legends. The story goes that Death was so lonely that it split itself in two, so it would "always have a friend". One half is the Lamb, and the other half is the Wolf. Lamb represents the peace in acceptance of death, wielding a bow to deliver a swift end, and Wolf represents the violence of rejecting and running from death, being literally a beast that mauls anything that tries to escape. You only see them when they've decided your time has come. The character we zoom in on at the end is Tryndamere, a barbarian king of the Freljord (Frel-yord). At the very beginning, he seems to be in a battle for his life against surrounding forces. When we reach the end, his vision shifts to a darker scene, and the image of the Kindred come into his view. Wolf is on the offensive, because Tryndamere is trying to fight for his life. Lamb tries to deliver shots that will end him quickly, but it seems Lamb is surprised to see that Tryndamere has a power that lets him avoid death for a short time (which is what the red in his eyes means) (If I am correct based off lore, he is infused with blood magic which technically allows him to become immortal when on the brink of death). It catches them off guard and lets Tryndamere almost get a blow in. While Wolf attempts to maul him, Lamb tries to go for one final strike, when Ashe, the frost archer, and wife of Tryndamere, arrives and kills two of the men that were attacking him. The Kindred and their darkness fade away, indicating that Ashe's arrival has saved Tryndamere from the Kindred's hunt, and the death he was destined for. As more forces move in against them, Ashe fires a hawk shot into the air to signal their position and call for reinforcements.

This is the lore of the cinematic: (The past) In the first scene, we see Kayle and Morgana fighting side by side, both with their powers. When both of them are pushed to their limits by Aatrox, Morgana gives away her powers as the Aspect of Justice and binds Aatrox, even if for a moment. Then we can see Kayle taking Morgana's powers, representing her taking Morgana's sword, and looking at her sister with disgust. When Morgana falls to the ground, Kayle ascends and kills the host of Aatrox. We can see Lamb in the flames, showing his death. (Aatrox does not really die, but his host does.) (The future) In the second scene, we see bandits raiding Ionian village and Yasuo as an old man standing his ground. Each time he uses his power, the bonds on his arm unravel. And at the end, when arrows rain right at him, we can see his acceptance of death and Kindred's arrow ending his life. We can also see Wolf's eyes in the shadows right before Lamb's arrow falls. (The present) In the last scene, we see Tryndamere fighting against a group of enemies and dying. It is represented as him fighting Kindred (death), with both Wolf and Lamb refusing to die; his red eyes represent his "undying rage." We can see that Lamb is showing a sign of confusion as to why this man doesn't give up. In the final scene, we can see Lamb lowering her bow when Ashe (Tryn's wife) saves him from his last enemies just in the moment he is about to die. Seeing that this is not the time to claim Tryndamere, Kindred disappears. This cinematic represents that death is timeless, showing one scene from the past, one from the present, and one from the future. It also shows both aspects of Kindred. When Aatrox's host dies, we see Lamb idle while Wolf delivers the final blow. Wolf hunts down those who resist death. When Yasuo dies, Wolf waits, as Lamb's arrow is the final moment. Lamb brings peaceful death to those who accept it. Tryndamere fights both Wolf and Lamb, defying natural order using his powers; in the end, he successfully avoids death

I think its also good to mention that Riot said Past, Present and Possible Future as if what we see from the past and the present are canon but that future with Yasuo dying that way is just a possibility seen from a prophecy that might not happen. I personally think Yasuo is not going to die that way when he is older in the future, I think we are going to see in the story how this prophecy will be developed and what Yasuo is going to do to change it.

Full rundown of the video for lore for those who dont understand Aatrox is fighting morgana and kayle in ancient demacia about 1000 years ago before the sisters got beef with each other Yasuo is in the possible future of ionia which is why hes so old And tryndameres ult is explained as kindred is always hunting him for cheating death (due to aatroxs blood magic he infected tryndamere with) and he has to fight off kindred (death) all the time and his immortality effectively truly comes from being the only human who can fight off death

I pulled up the video before watching this, and even then, it brought tears to my eyes. The whole message of "I'm still here," along with the theme of pushing through adversity is very significant to me. I've been through a lot over the last few years. Over the last decade, honestly (though, it was one of those 'if you put a lobster in a pot of cold water and raise the temperature, they won't notice until it is too late' kind of decades). But I've survived it and I'm moving on from all of that, and in the last year, as I've been focusing on rebuilding myself, this whole message of "I may be beaten down and tired, but I am still here despite all of that" is very much frontmost in my brain. But, apparently, this one is a fully canon cinematic from League, and it is filled to the brim with lore deep cuts. I actually watched a video from Necrit going over the lore in it. I knew... next to none of the lore going into this, but one thing is that the character with the round glowing eyes and the wolf are, fundamentally, this world's embodiment of death, and they show up in each of the three scenes. In the one with the 'valkyries,' as you called them, it doesn't step in because that great demon isn't able to die. In the middle story, you see the wolf as the arrows are flying up to come down on the samurai character (who is the guy with the wind powers, just decades later than the in-game present), and the one that comes straight for him is the same kind of glowing arrow that we see the death archer firing in the last scene, implying that this is his death years later. Most interestingly, the scene implies that he's at a point in life where he has forsaken killing - none of the bandits that he fights are killed. Even the leader, who he blasts with the wind... it seems as though he is knocking him away from the rain of arrows. And the last scene is a character... having a kind of near-death experience, with some of the implications being that he isn't actually fighting death, but rather the warriors who were surrounding him in the first place. Phenomenal storytelling all around!

Necrit pointed this out in his video. The Swordsman named Yasou. He is the only living master of the Wind Technique, and his whole life nearly he has had to use that to defend himself, because he is mistakenly thought to of killed his own master with that same technique. He did not, but he can't prove it. His whole life he has had to kill to live. This Yasou does not kill. If you watch all his strikes are to knock out/disable. At first when he fights with the staff he isn't using it, but after he takes the kick he looks up and realizes that he might not be able to do this without the wind technique. So as the arrow is fired Yasou has to make a choice. Fall back into it or accept his death. He chooses to live, but even as he attacks if you watch he never cuts them, but uses the wind to knock them out. Even at the end, he uses the tornado that could normally cut a man to ribbons, he uses it to knock the gang leader out of the way of the arrows. You see the eyes of Wolf hungry to fight, but when he closes his eyes and accepts his death. Lamb's mercy finds him before the arrows do.
