Getting to see your favourite idols having fun, laughing with them, and then after a while you take a step back and realise that the entire industry is admiring them, and they're truly the nation's girl group, stars among stars. Perhaps you hear the tale of how they worked hard to go from 2008 Black Ocean to 2013 Pink Ocean. And then one day, your heart is ripped out to hear that Jessica has departed the group... But even so, SNSD will continue forever :')

that part where snsd stated that fans boycotted them in dream concert was the time where snsd performed there and all the fandoms esp. the boygroup fandoms boycotted snsd by turning off their lightsticks making a black ocean out of the stadium and those fandoms started shouting "wonder girls!" but despite of that there's a tiny patch of sones waving their lightsticks in the side of the stadium... i think in the view from the stage it wasn't visible at all, but it's still heartwarming to have sones who supported them inside the stadium... that event is one of the most tragic moments in kpop as that time every fandom hated snsd so much

Taengoo is still the leader, the scene was cut and Hyo who's also on the show said that it Taeyeon misunderstood since they only said that to not any add more pressure on Taengoo's shoulders. They even said that Taengoo is doing a great job on being a leader. They talked it out and it went well. 🥰😇

16:54 is the story of Dream Concert 2008 where the other fandoms (mostly wonderfuls and boy group fans) all got together and turned off their light sticks and didn't cheer while SNSD were performing. It was so bad that it became known as the black ocean - as opposed to [fandom color] ocean. This is why their performance at Dream Concert 2013 (the one where they performed They Boys and IGAB and only the fans could be heard) is so iconic bc it's the total opposite to their first performance there. 18:32 when Seohyun was joking they would win the Disk Daesang and a second later they were actually anounced as winners, making them the only girl group to have ever won that award :') Also yes Taeyeon did want to quit as a leader since the beginning but they didn't let her do it.

The song that was playing on 2:27 was "Way to go" I've requested that for so long hehe. And yes it's a rock song you should check that out alongside with "Flyers" and "Say Yes" that's literally the cheer up songs of Sones. The concert performances of these songs were so fun.

Yes this video takes a serious turn and its a good recap of the struggle and journey SNSD went through. I just finished the video but I'm going to re-watch it and explain a few things :-) 1:50 those clips are from an episode of "Hello Baby", It was Seohyuns birthday and they decided to do a hidden camera prank where they pretended to have a fight with each other but surprise her with a birthday party at the end 2:22 Yes! One of my favorite SNSD songs its called "Way to Go" and was released around the time of Gee. Its such a fun rock sounding song and I recommend you listen to it :-) 7:07 Sooyoung was originally teamed up with Seohyun and Jessica but then made the valid argument of how its the worst combination for a team (Seohyun just a follower, Sooyoung is stupid, and Jessica doesn't run) so they decided to re-pick the teams. Jessica and Seohyun both re-picked yellow so whoever picked yellow was with the 2 members no one wanted. Yoona picked yellow which is why everyone was laughing 7:33 these clips are talking about multiple incidents where they were fighting and saying "You're dying, I'm dying" in a previous clip Hyoyeon admitted to being part of a fight during a broadcast and Taeyeon in this clip admitted she was the other member fighting with Hyoyeon 8:27 Not having a leader in a group of their status is very common so I'm guessing Taeyeon not being their leader is accurate but she will always be SNSDs leader in fans eyes (Kid Leader to be exact XD) 9:24 One of the best SNSD variety shows out there! Its called Intimate Note and highly recommend watching it :-) Sooyoung is pure savage in it 12:32 This was a live performance of Run Devil Run where a random man got on stage and attempted to pull Taeyeon away. Sunny and the MC of the event managed to save and protect Taeyeon from this but it was very traumatizing for Taeyeon :-( 16:52 like the other comments have stated the 2008 Black Ocean is one of the biggest boycotts of a kpop group ever. I'm not sure the exact story but I'll try my best. Basically this happened when the girls were still rookies and other groups (especially boy groups) fandoms were jealous at how close the girls were with said groups, so in retaliation they boycotted the girls performance by staying completely silent and turning off their lightsticks. There was however a small section of SONES still cheering but they weren't as visible. This event really hit the girls hard and they took a hiatus afterwards before they released Gee, 21:03 This was the night that the world found out about Jessica's departure and the girls had to perform at a fanmeet in china. They tried their best but with all the fans yelling out Jessica's name at them , I can't imagine how they must have felt. Wow that was a lot! Hope that helped at least a little :-) there is so much to SNSD and their journey but I think this video really shows their friendship and the struggles they went through to reach the status that they currently hold: Legends! Weird and emotional? Not at all! This is such a great edit, compilation and encapsulation of SNSD ( soo much work involved to put this together). It really captures their range, personalities, experiences, honesty, passion and relationships incredibly well. Some background and detail on the 'Black Ocean'. The 'Dream Concert features groups and artists from all the agencies---it's a total K-Pop industry celebration and showcase. SNSD were still 'rookies' but 'making waves', in part because they were the firs female 'super-group'. But from my own research I learned that SNSD were NOT instantly popular in the general K-Pop fan world. When Sm teased in 2006 that they were forming a "female Super Junior" several industry insiders, and many 'netizens' thought the concept was ridiculous and that they wouldn't last two years ( lots of entrenched male chauvinism involved in many of those opinions, for sure). But while male K-Pop 'snowflake' fans were outraged and dismissive of a "female Super Junior", female K-Pop fans of were also outraged---but by the familiarity that SNSD seemed to have with boy groups, and the 'crushes' those boy group members seemed to express about SNSD members ( a notable example was the Haptic Motion advertising, featuring DBSK and SNSD, filmed as a kind of 'romantic comedy'). Obsessive fans became wildly jealous of SNSD, and had their chance to express their displeasure at SNSD's first Dream Concert appearance. There were just a few hundred SONE, in an upper tier of the stadium, barely visible from the stage, and vastly outnumbered bythe other 50,000-plus K-Pop fans. The "boycott' ( turning off their light-sticks and ignoring or even heckling SNSD) was organized. On top of that, outrageous claims were made against SONE by 'rival' fandoms---claims of violence and even rape! Korean media investigated such claims after the concert, and found them to be utter bullshit ( I have some Korean news reports about this that I've saved on my PC) . Other 'boycotts" of various groups have apparently accord before, and since, but to the best of my knowledge NONE have been anywhere near as extreme as SNSD's "Black Ocean". 5 years later SNSD would return to the 2013 Dream Concert and performed 'The Boys" and "I Got A Boy" as the closing act. There's a particular video ( NOT a fan cam) of this performance with the raw audio intact. THAT 'Dream Concert' is now often described pretty much as "The SNSD Concert After Some Other Groups Did Whatever..." . The entire stadium sang the lyrics for these two songs, along with SNSD, in perfect time, and so loudly that SNSD can barely be heard at all. No , Sooyoung wanted to change teams because they were losing and she was blaming Jessica for being lazy and hot snd Seohyun dor being too quiet and a follower... they draw balls to select the new team and they were joking to not select yellow once Jessica pull it out because she said that her motto "was never run even when late" , then Seohyun pull it out and if was funny because what are the odds so no one want it to team up and Yoona pull it out almost inmediatly, at the end Jessica and Seohyun just went like maybe we are destiny 🥰 and Yoona convince Jessica to work hard to prove them wrong , which ended up on Yoon Hyun pulling Jessica and Sooyoung team losing so in the end , the faulty player was the one complaining

Their bond are really like sisters and family, in a kpop world were a lot of groups are only showing closeness in front of cameras. One of the reasons why even though snsd doesnt have comeback for a long time, SONEs are still there for them.

They're not just a group they're sisters and that's the reason why SONE loves them, not because of their songs, visuals but because of their bond and until now that they're going 15 years together they're still unbreakable. i was SNSD OT9's fan until the end... went thru several heartbreaks as scandal after scandal hit the girls and the fandom. There were bitter times fr. snsd's black ocean to jessica's departure, but i'll always remember them at their best & worst. in fact, watching u reacting to this vid made me feels so nostalgic that I can still identify which show was on. So thank u Sir Austin.a (p.s notice how SM ent. has so many likable groups but SM ent. always ends up breaking them, mismanagement/capitalism/throwing artists to scandals to cover up Korean political and social issues, u name it. SM artists are just profit -machines, while the company micromanages, exhausts and treats them inhumanely. Yet, it is still a very powerful company and lawsuits rarely work on SM. It is actually a fucked up company behind the dazzling music).

The moment where the net drops on the group was from a Japanese variety show "mecha mecha iketeru" where a comedy troupe of 'monster hunters' travel to Korea to locate a legendary monster with 18 _very long_ legs that beguiles men with irresistible song. Yup, that's SNSD. I managed to watch it a couple of years ago before the YT copyright police took down all uploads of it. In 2014 SNSD Mr.Mr. and 2NE1 Come Back Home had same promotion period. So they had competition and fandoms went crazy they had fanwar 😅 But now I think blackjacks and sones become bff because it was sweet days and everyone misses these days🤧🤧🤧🤧

One of my favorite things about SNSD is their genuine bond that they have for esch other and that they are not just doing it as a "job." Which there is nothing wrong if idols treat it as a job. However, 9 girls in a group and still able to treat each other like family and sisters is impressive because you would think they wouldnt get along, the more members they have in the group. And then they all show support for each other outside of SNSD too. They were honest about their fights, but at the end of the day they knew they had love for each other. You would think that Sunny and YoonA wouldnt get along with each other because they both do aegyo and Sunny threatened YoonA for waking her up. But they hang out the most together and show a lot of love for each other. I still wish there were sub-units for the rest of the girls. We have TTS, could of had SHY (Sooyoung, Hyoyeon, Yuri), and a sub unit with Sunny, YoonA, and Jessica. together would have been nice. I have so much love for SNSD and will always be my number 1 favorite group. Also, Sunny didnt have a solo but a song by her would be great to check her vocals out more.

Some of them were visibly upset at the airport, most of them were wearing sunglasses iirc so you couldn't see their eyes. And Jessica (and Yoona) was the most popular member for C-Sone. So the girls went to the fanmeet notably down only to be met by Sone shouting for Jessica. It was just so disrespectful imo. Fans could SEE that the girls were upset and crying. I understand fans were also upset and wanted answers but all they did was upset the girls further.

This always makes me cry. Please react to other SNSD anniv tribute videos. it would really touch your SONE heart. So prpud of our girls.

I hate that I have watched this video numerous times but still cry every freaking time. 💔

With regards to the strongest : it was continuation of the story “you die, I die” - where 2 of the members argued which revealed to beHyoyeon and Taeyeon.

A man went up the stage and grabbed her to the end of the stage, and sunnybunny came to rescue... 16:52 #BlackOcean where every group fans turned off their lightsticks while SNSD was performing. Girl fan are jealous of SNSD being close to male idols...THATS WHY!!!

4:08 its "HaHaHa" by SNSD they have a Music Video its a Samsung CF they preform it a lot in their Asia Tours and Madison Square Garden. 17:10 text said "there was no applause no cheering we performed looking at pitch black stadium"

Been a SONE for 15 yrs, going 16yrs this year. Since 2009 I followed them and I've seen their ups and downs. They did the impossible back then, it was really Mission Impossible. If you will compare it to today's groups, it was like, Twice beating BTS in sales, charts, etc. But before that happened, they went to hardships. It was the time wherein KZread was not a thing so we needed to ask Korean SONEs to upload to any online streaming sites the digital copies of their TV broadcast and then we also needed to ask some SONEs who were bilingual to make subs so that international fans can watch. It was really hardships for the first 2yrs, and it was the longest 2yrs of their career, us earlier SONEs didn't expect this kind of stardom from them, we just wished for them to be able to sustain their Idol Career. It was really hell when it comes to promotions before. Not just SNSD, every 2nd Gen group, it was hard. There were a lot of sasaeng fans as well, etc. I can go on here and narrate what it was back then but we're just thankful that the 8 members are still together and the lost chick seems to be happy and doing fine. The 2008 "black ocean": Before 2007 there were some years when no girl groups were really successful (after the 1st gen girl groups all disbanded), so SNSD's success, visibility and all their fanboys were something new and unusual. Specifically, SNSD was very close with two of the most popular boy groups, SuJu and TVXQ since they trained together. Also since they are friendly they quickly became close with other boygroups they met when promoting. Many fan-girls were jealous and started spreading lies about SNSD, there was a famous list of supposed examples of SNSD being rude or disrespectful to various other idols. All made up of course, many celebrities and staff have talked about how impressed they were with SNSD's manners and kindness. As fans were coming into the Dream concert there were new rumors going around about the male Sones: First, that sones had torn down and destroyed banners made by fan girls of other groups - Later it came out that the fans had put up banners without permission and it was the venue staff that took them down. Second, that sones were pushing and shoving fangirls to get better positions for the concert and that some girls fell and ended up in the hospital with broken bones. Later a TV show investigated and looked for any of these "injured fans" and even checked with all the hospitals in the area, but couldn't find any evidence that this actually happened. Anyway, I'm guessing that since many fangirls were already resentful of SNSD being close with "their oppa" they were more willing to believe the lies. The stories about the violent sones were like the extra final reason they needed. So almost the entire stadium joined in on this with everyone turning off their light-sticks when it was SNSDs turn to perform. Luckily things changed after that and I think most fans of SM groups at least support each other and love seeing interactions between the groups.

2008: Dream Concert Black Ocean 2013: Dream Concert Pink Ocean, literally the loudest fanchant ever 2019: Dream Concert ITNW as an ending stage song where idols all gather to sing it in the stage. SNSD deserve what they have now coz they faced the hate of boygroups stan, the time where gg had a hard time in making it to the spotlight. I mean without SNSD probably we will living in the kpop world of full of boygroups. SNSD paved the way for girlgroups to shine. SNSD will forever be the legendary kpop group that paved the way for everyone.

Yoona has a few beautiful songs. Sunny does have some songs you can check out like like her cover of 3 and first kiss

I was about to cry because of this. About the "black ocean", there's some videos about it, Sir Austin. There were reasons behind it, the ladies don't deserve it though... Girls' Generation will always be my number 1 Kpop girl group. Today, tomorrow, forever it's So Nyeo Shi Dae! 💗

I've been a sone since 2009. I was able to witness most of the events compiled in this video. watching these clip again... i can't help but feel emotional and cry too. ah our Taeyeon = one of a kind leader. if you have time to watch the girls' older variety shows, you can see how she subtly leads from behind and let the other girls shine. some people may think her shy/timid personality as weak and she's awkward as a leader because other members became voice of the group. but she knew and trusted her members' strenghs and she encouraged the girls to showcase them whenever possible. this, IMO could have contributed to SNSD's success and longevity. she may a have 'resigned' from being a leader, but if you ask anyone who is the leader of SNSD, the name TAEYEON will pop up without a second thought.
